I checked out the Cuckoo US website & managed to get a bigger rice cooker for a cheaper price (they had a sale going on) compared to my dad who bought another model at an H Mart store.

My husband actually ordered this for me - our old rice cooker still worked, but it was pretty beat up and I had lost the measuring cup, so my guesses on the rice to water ratio must've been off, because with this new cooker the rice is sooo much better! Light and fluffy for both white and brown rice! There's a couple functions I still need to try (I think it lets you reheat/cook old rice - and maybe even mixed in with new? - that will be awesome for re-using leftovers that had been stored in fridge for few days!) but it's easy to clean and I'm very satisfied as it is. I just need to get a Korean friend to translate what it's saying when the rice is done, she's sweetly saying something that's a little more elaborate than 'your rice is done' 😆

Worse experience with this brand! Just a little over a year and the cooker is no longer able to maintain its temperature. Rice goes bad the next day. We owned Tiger brand previously before switching to this brand and probably a big mistake. For the price of this machine ($219

I chose this particular model of Zojirushi, despite the slightly higher price, because, unlike others from the same brand, it is made in Japan. I was not disappointed: it is extremely well made, and can handle a relatively large amount of rice. While you can buy a basic rice cooker for as little as $30, the much higher price of this one compared to the basic rice cookers is due to the following characteristics, which, in my opinion, are well worth spending more for: 1) Variable temperature and cooking time (compared to a fixed preset temperature/time combination): important as you experiment with different kinds of rice, such as brown, white, sushi, basmati etc. Each needs a different temperature/time combination: you make the first choice from a menu list on the front panel, then the machine further adjusts it while cooking using its "fuzzy" logic

Open box product came and there was a crack on the corner of the bottom on the rice cooker. Please do not buy this product.

) Also, my 3-cup model has nice metal parts on the outside, and this one is all plastic, although nice smooth high-quality plastic. And the lid-opening button is nicer and possibly sturdier on the Chinese-made models. But the thing I like the most about my 3-cup one over this model is the steam vent. I think it is an advancement over this older model
