Aventus is the original, which I would also recommend over this version. “Aventus Cologne” was released in 2019 as a fresher version of the original Creed Aventus.  These are just some pros and cons that I see when looking at this fragrance in 2022. I don't think the newer batches, at least from my perspective, perform as well. But very negligible differences from my nose that if you are not that familiar with Aventus, you're not going to go crazy and be like, oh, this is not Aventus. If you're smelling it for the first time, this is still Aventus, no matter what bottle I think you're getting

 But it is, I think, different from many people that are more into it. Of course, I am not like the biggest Aventus acolyte. So I will let some people in the comments say their own feelings about Aventus in 2022. But I wanted to address this topic because people are still very much interested in this fragrance

 I thought that was a requirement for having a fragrance channel, but I get why it's so hyped. It's mass appealing. It has a versatile element to it that can be worn year round. It smells sophisticated and opulent

 And I think just the composition is well done. It's a defining fragrance and kind of defines this last 10 years of fragrances and kind of what has really taken off. And when you can influence other designers from the niche perspective, I think that is an indication that you're doing something right. So I get why Aventus is so loved

All combined to give you this rich, fresh, yet sweet and smoky scent

 When you first buy it, it smells great. But I know those months down the road, it starts to smell even better. Now, my theory on that is that because it has a lot of natural ingredients, the natural ingredients start to settle and you get a better scent over time. Just my theory

 Vanilla is having a moment. It's like vanilla is really coming out a lot in different fragrances. This one's definitely solid. It's Alien Goddess from the House of Mugler

So let me know if anybody has any info on this brand. What they're doing with their fragrances especially for men but I'm thinking positively because they've done such a great job with Alien Goddess with a very very high price tag.  I feel like when perfumers, when a brand hires a perfumer to do a fragrance and they bring on other perfumers, I feel like they don't do a very good job. You know like some releases in the designer world there's four perfumers but damn the fragrance turns out to be not very pleasant. Here the two have worked really really beautifully together and they've done a great job with this fragrance. Also going back to who the original perfumer for Alien is, Dominique Roupillon of IFF
