Crane Drop vs Crane EE-5950

I'm now just waiting for the new humidifier to come in. At this point, I down rated it from 4 stars to 3 because of the noise. It was quiet for awhile but became really noisy later on the more I used it. *****Update 12/21/2011***** I received my new humidifier today and it's a newer model

The Crane Travel Humidifier operates differently from other travel humidifiers that I have used. It starts when you activate it; no warm-up needed. The biggest problem is its output is too small. If you were in a hotel room the size of a telephone booth, it would be perfect

I don't know how often the dvd was accessed but the next day, same issue. Cleaned the disk, it still would not read the disk. This game has two disks so I tried the second one which was clean. It would not read the disk

I neglected to use distilled water and have tried my darndest to clean both the inside and top of the disc with white vinegar swab (soaked and let sit an hour), but can only get a very fine mist now and the top of the device feels warm like it’s working too hard. I love how portable it is and have taken just the unit (used cup at friend’s house) on trips out to Utah and put it on at night time (out of arms reach). Purchased mine in January 2019. Would probably still be going if I did not use hard water…

You also don't want to place the humidifier on the carpet or a towel. This is because the fan vent is on the bottom of the humidifier. By placing it on the carpet (or a towel) you stand a chance of blocking the vent and the humidifier over heating. In an effort to avoid placing the humidifier on a wood surface (or a towel)

Use a little juice from a lemon on a cotton swab to wipe off the scale. The acid in the juice will dissolve it. Then use a new cotton swab dipped in a baking soda solution to neutralize the acid and run the unit to clear. The swab was moist, not dripping

The size of the vapor droplets must be small enough or the unit may add moisture but not really help with breathing (according to my doctor). Whether for personal use or whole room it did not seem to do much for me other than perhaps add moisture to a dry environment. This product won't work without the wick or a dry wick. You'll have to use a soaking wet wick. I poured in a full cup of water, please ensure the top part of it (with the led red/ blue light) never submerges below the water. Normally, if using the cup it comes with the grep top of the cup has a cover which stops it from ever submerging or used incorrectly

Make sure you have appropriate table and filter or distilled water. My other unit (for my room) has only slightly larger capacity and is warm mist and I feel like it uses less water. Edit 04/05/18: My toddler has recently managed to pull off the control cap.

Soak the filter for 30 minutes or so before use, and squeeze out the filter before packing it away for your trip back home.
