 Although I do, I do I do wish that they included more PCIe connectors for graphics cards because sometimes you do use a high power graphics card in an ITX build and you know having just two 6 plus 2 pins is not quite enough sometimes for a really high-end graphics card. But yeah, this is an 80 plus gold 600 watt hard drive from Corsair and let's take a look inside. As you can see, this is a really small box barely just under the size of two of my hands and there's a brown box inside and we'll just pop that open and see what the power supply looks like. So here you go

 What do we have here? We have some cable ties, we have a little badge there with Corsa on it, power by Corsa, a few screws and they'll be very handy. And we have, so this is your ATX bracket, so essentially this allows you to put your power supply into an ATX slot. I had purchased both the 500W SFX-L and the 600W SX600-G for an NCase compact gaming PC project I was working on, and over time, have become summarily disappointed in both products.  The 500W: - Too large to accommodate a full sized GPU in this case..

 Many people have pointed this out, and the only real solution is to replace the fan in it with a similar sized noctua. - Runs noticeably warmer than it's 500W sibling.  The options are limited for small form factor power supplies, and both of these have their faults. I would highly advise steering away from the 600W supply as it does have repeatedly reported reliability issues

 This is a complaint I've read both here, on Newegg, and other various forums. Thought it works in "Silent" mode, even at low levels of load the fan spins up, and is noticeably audible. This was a big problem for me as one of my build parameters was to be ultra-quiet  The 600W: - Started to fail after only 1 year of operation. - The fan is extremely loud, and spins up quickly with even minimal loading

 I almost RMA-ed one once (realized a board fault and canceled the RMA) - Corsair was "business friendly" in manor and willing to help - they issued the RMA without a fight. The only con I have, is that it's better to buy them retail than through a distributor, pricing is near the same and shipping, warranty service is better on the retail side. If you buy 100s at time that may be different - but we buy them 5 - 10 at a time. Okay another con - I have a ton of velvet bags now and no other swag - at some point they should send me a invite to a company party or at least a t-shirt ;)

Corsair SF750 is Compact & Dense

 If we take a look at the efficiency curve, we can see that throughout the entire load axis, at no point does the efficiency drop below 87%, which is really impressive for a power supply of this size. Previously, if you wanted to break the 700 watt barrier, your only option was to move up to the longer SFX-L form factor with the Silverstone SX700, 800, or the newly released 1000. These did have a higher 80 plus rating of titanium, but the longer length made it impossible to use in certain builds. The Fantech Shift comes to mind

It technically does fit, but you'll need to crown the cables right against the case, and that isn't exactly the most ideal situation. The power density to size ratio we're seeing now is incredible, but I can't help but wonder, is 750 watts a sweet spot, or is it overkill? Because if you think about it, the majority of builds that we would even use this in are typically some form of an ITX motherboard, a single CPU, and a single GPU, and that's what we're going to be testing today

 The power supply pretty much tripped instantly and shut off the computer. Knowing that we've gone over the limit, I wanted to see by how much, so I threw on the Corsair AX860, and even with this, I was pretty close to maxing that out as well. So looking at the total wattage used between the two tests, I'm going to say that the SF750 is quite a bit of an overkill today, unless you're planning on going with a really, really power-hungry part. For everything else, the SF600 is sufficient, and that includes overclocking Intel's 9900K and AMD's 3700X with the RTX 2080 Ti

 While you do want to be slightly under that, since you don't want it to spike over, budgeting for an additional 20% really isn't necessary, unless you plan on expanding your system, which in an ITX form factor isn't very likely considering the space constraints. I think this 20% assumption may have stemmed from the confusion about the efficiency curve of a power supply, especially before the 80 plus ratings became a thing, but power supplies are so well made today that this isn't really an issue anymore. I work closely with power supply vendors for deep learning applications with workstations and servers at my day job, and I've been reassured that as long as the power doesn't spike over the rated capacity of a power supply, or the total load of a particular rail, high utilization is not a problem, and after seeing most of these compute nodes train at near 100% power utilization continuously for weeks on end, I believe it. Since we're on the topic of utilization, another thing to consider is the likelihood that you're even going to max out both the CPU and GPU at the same time

 It's going to also come with some nice Velcro tie wraps, got some screws and some regular plastic zip ties. Now, meat and taters of this is going to be these cables. All these cables, I'll show you here in just a second. I'll take this off camera, off screen, and we'll show you the cables in a moment

 It's a little bit of a pain in just a moment and then it'll shut itself off and it will not come back on until this thing starts generating some heat and putting out some load. So definitely don't freak out. Look at the paperwork and see how this stuff is set up. All right, give us one second and we'll show you the cables

 So there isn't any need to purchase aftermarket cables that are shorter because realistically, if you take a look at it here, this is not very long. So this is definitely intended. The power supply, everything here is intended for small case operation. And there's enough peripheral support on this to allow you, there's your 24-pin connector

 All these cables, I'll show you here in just a second. I'll take this off camera, off screen, and we'll show you the cables in a moment. But I also wanted to point this out. This guy right here, this adapter bracket, this adapter bracket is so that you can mount this SFX power supply into a regular power supply hole in the case

Corsair SF750 PSU Unboxing and Mini Review

 It has a seven year warranty on it and it's a modular design, so it comes included with a number of different cables that allow you to connect with various parts of your motherboard and PCIe peripherals like graphics cards and other things, as well as power for SATA connections for things like platter hard drives and 2.5 inch SSDs. In the box you'll also find some Velcro cable ties and some plastic cable ties and a Corsair sticker. Now this is obviously the UK version, so you'll note there's a UK power plug in there, obviously with different international versions you'll have different power plugs, and then you have the modular cables which I'll show you in a minute

 So you can have a tiny, tiny power supply in a massive case. And I think that the fact that this has a seven year warranty should mean they will last and last. In the bag, as you'd expect, a multitude of cables included. You have the 24 pin main power supply for the motherboard, two CPU socket power supply cables, two PCIe cables as well, and some SATA cable connections too

 And what I actually found that this power supply fits very nicely in the case that I built in. And it looks pretty magnificent too, the cable is really good. And as I said, zero RPM mode is a very quiet power supply so it doesn't really get heard over the noise of the other fans in the case, and yet is capable of running a good amount of power in an efficient way.  You can also get some cable combs that you can purchase separately that you can put between each of the cables that have teeth in them that will hold these, make them a bit neater if necessary. Here's the other CPU power connections, see two separate cables with those connections that will then run into the top and you'll see there's two power ports on the top left of the motherboard here. So I've already installed the motherboard and now I just need to make sure all the power connections are in. So you have three power connections, 24 pin, and then these two CPU ones that run at the top of that as well
