Are you thinking of potentially upgrading maybe next year, the year after? Just things may change. So that is something we all need to bear in mind. So on the front, some of the specs, so we have got the 80 plus gold rating

 That's the price on amazon.co.uk as of today. And there are actually options for this in Amazon's warehouse for around about 50 pounds

 Although, do bear in mind, this is only a 550 watt power supply. We've got around about 46 amps on the 12 volt rail, so do bear that in mind when you're considering graphics cards and other additional components. But they have a massive range of power supplies from the 550 all the way up to 1000 watts and probably beyond there as well. Comes in at a really good price, around about £75 here in United Kingdom

 So potentially, you could plug one into the wrong socket isn't really a big deal because they kind of use the same outputs anyway, but certainly do pay attention to that and make sure you put your sockets in the right one, or potentially, you may have a no boot situation on your PC when you first fire it up.  I have worked with computers for over 30 years, most of that as an IT professional and I have NEVER heard a power supply as loud as this. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) So one has to question WHY is it so loud? I should have listened to the reviews about the noise. I figured it can't really be that bad. It can

 When I installed the SSD, I removed modifications I made to vent heat from the video card. After this change, the power supply has been running quietly with only a bit of a whirring noise when I am using heavy graphics. So, I am revoking my previous 3 stars and adding another star because it seems with the right PC config, the power supply operates at a reasonable noise level - even at a superior noise level when not doing heavy graphics.

I just spent almost $500 on a Ryzen 9, 3900XT CPU why risk that investment on a garbage pail Power Supply that could ruin everything just to save a few bucks.  If you are building a system to last why not buy a gold certified, quality Corsair 650 Watt power supply designed give you years of uninterrupted service

  I got this PSU because it was the best balance between quality and price I could find. The RM750x 80+ Gold Certified specifically. As a general rule of thumb, you want a PSU with twice the watt capacity your entire build uses, both for futureproofing and to make sure you have the power you need. For most people, 550 watts will be more than enough, but the 750 watts I have will allow me some wiggle room for future upgrades

You could have the highest end GPU, the top of the line CPU, a motherboard for the ages, and all the hard drives you will ever need, but all of that won't do you a lick of good if you don't have power going to it. The Corsair SF600 Gold is one of the loudest of the Corsair SF series. Fortunately the fan just uses a simple 2 pin connector with 12v (red wire) and ground (black wire). The Noctua Omnijoin kit came with an NF-A4x20 but works well here. Match up the black and red wires, and follow the instructions on the Omnijoin kit

  During normal day to day and idle loads, it's perfectly quiet, as you'd expect. But if you give it a real load the fan will become the loudest thing in your system; I could hear it over my 2070S!  The amount of heat it outputs is also impressive and concerning. I swapped it with a full size ATX 850 last night to get a noise benchmark and noticed the heat was a lot lower too. This implies some concerning efficiency numbers, which confuse me given my spare/bench supply is only bronze rated

 They are made of stiff black plastic, and some are ribbon shaped, which is a bit harder to work with and looks less tidy (circular cables can be tied easily in a tube shape, but the ribbon ones are flat and wide). I wasn't able to power my hard drive with the SATA power cable in my NCase M1 (bottom mounted) because the SATA connectors weren't able to lay flat enough to plug into the hard drive. The EVGA PSU in my other computer had a SATA power cable that had flat connectors which could reach, but I ended up using a spare Molex/sata adapter I had laying around. Furthermore, the connectors on the cables were so stiff and only went in with a "wiggle" motion

 I almost RMA-ed one once (realized a board fault and canceled the RMA) - Corsair was "business friendly" in manor and willing to help - they issued the RMA without a fight. The only con I have, is that it's better to buy them retail than through a distributor, pricing is near the same and shipping, warranty service is better on the retail side. If you buy 100s at time that may be different - but we buy them 5 - 10 at a time. Okay another con - I have a ton of velvet bags now and no other swag - at some point they should send me a invite to a company party or at least a t-shirt ;)
