It's been nearly a hundred years since I have done an unboxing of this nature but let's get started. Okay then first thing first let me cut the outer shrink wrap and then we'll look at what the box has printed on it

 So the box is out of its shrink wrap. Now let's look at the prints here. So some of the things that we would be interested in knowing first off is whether it has a zero rpm mode meaning if the requirement on the power supply isn't that heavy at this point in time and the temps are fairly low then the fan goes to complete stop saving perhaps some power but more importantly becomes very silent. So some of the things that we would want to look at when we are at the shop when browsing is the inclusion of the cables that are in it

 So the included modular power cables normally they would have a pouch but in this case that's not a standard inclusion they just give you in a packet like this. So as far as PCIe power requirements go we have four outlets six plus two however we need it that's subject to our specific need. So you will have that airflow, of course, going through the power supply itself and we have power on and off switch and of course your power connection. On the opposite side, if I can show it to you this way, we have all of our modular connections and again this is 100% modular so you only use the cables that you need and these are labeled so it's kind of hard to see in the video, try to get it closed, but all of your connections are labeled so if you're that first time builder, you're not really sure what you're doing, all of your connections are labeled there so you can go ahead and get everything connected the right way and then finally on the bottom here, we have our fan and this is a 135mm cooling fan and it's actually a specially designed NR135L fan and it's designed to be a high static pressure fan to give the best cooling possible with low noise and all of that but also it is a zero RPM fan, so what that means, we've seen that with course graphics cards and all of that but zero RPM means that when this thing is not doing any heavy lifting, you're not playing games, you're not using a lot of power, the fan is actually going to turn off

That's really great, it doesn't need that crazy cooling power when you're not doing a lot of stuff so the fan will turn off not only using less power but of course making your system nice and quiet. So that is basically it, this is the 750 watt version, again it's going to come in 550, 650, 750, 850 and 1000 watt, the 750 which we're showing you today will retail for 129

 We have a little Corsair thumb drive, I believe it's just given to us because we're doing the review. This probably has a reviewer's guide on it, so make sure to go ahead and read that. We also have a warranty guide right here, I know it's really kind of whited out because we have our lights on in here. We have a power cable and one thing that a lot of people don't take to care in is a thick power cable

 If something does happen, you can go ahead and you have that warranty, you can send it back and of course get a new one with that. Also inside we have 100% Japanese capacitors which of course, if you know anything about power supplies, those are the best. So you have all of that. So on the top, we just have our sticker that shows all of our input and output voltages

 It combines well with the case fan. I've had no issues what-so-ever and will be back here to update this review if anything changes. Update (Feb 2020): Still no issues. PSU working just fine

 I've been using this system with the new PSU installed for a week as of writing this review, and so far I'm very happy. The fan works great - it's quiet and when it turns on, it's powerful. It combines well with the case fan. I've had no issues what-so-ever and will be back here to update this review if anything changes

The Corsair SF600 Gold is one of the loudest of the Corsair SF series. Fortunately the fan just uses a simple 2 pin connector with 12v (red wire) and ground (black wire). The Noctua Omnijoin kit came with an NF-A4x20 but works well here. Match up the black and red wires, and follow the instructions on the Omnijoin kit

  During normal day to day and idle loads, it's perfectly quiet, as you'd expect. But if you give it a real load the fan will become the loudest thing in your system; I could hear it over my 2070S!  The amount of heat it outputs is also impressive and concerning. I swapped it with a full size ATX 850 last night to get a noise benchmark and noticed the heat was a lot lower too. This implies some concerning efficiency numbers, which confuse me given my spare/bench supply is only bronze rated

Typically I don't think too much about PSU noise, especially since basically all modern cases have their own intake paths for PSUs.  And then this thing arrives. Ultimately it does what it says on the tin, just way louder than any full size ATX I've owned. That said

 They are made of stiff black plastic, and some are ribbon shaped, which is a bit harder to work with and looks less tidy (circular cables can be tied easily in a tube shape, but the ribbon ones are flat and wide). I wasn't able to power my hard drive with the SATA power cable in my NCase M1 (bottom mounted) because the SATA connectors weren't able to lay flat enough to plug into the hard drive. The EVGA PSU in my other computer had a SATA power cable that had flat connectors which could reach, but I ended up using a spare Molex/sata adapter I had laying around. Furthermore, the connectors on the cables were so stiff and only went in with a "wiggle" motion

Great PSU, lousy cables for the price

 I almost RMA-ed one once (realized a board fault and canceled the RMA) - Corsair was "business friendly" in manor and willing to help - they issued the RMA without a fight. The only con I have, is that it's better to buy them retail than through a distributor, pricing is near the same and shipping, warranty service is better on the retail side. If you buy 100s at time that may be different - but we buy them 5 - 10 at a time. Okay another con - I have a ton of velvet bags now and no other swag - at some point they should send me a invite to a company party or at least a t-shirt ;)
