0 header, and you're off and running. For the fan speed, you still need to connect them, but there's nothing proprietary there. I chose to use a three-way splitter and connect them to a 4-pin PWM header on my motherboard.  Right off the bat, these fans look spectacular

 In the preservation of self care, I gotta say that while I am visually happy with my purchases (Fans and controller) and happy with their performance, I am wholly dissatisfied in Corsair for not making their fan kits and all in one type of deal.  Aside from that, the fans are also fairly noisy, even at low speeds, and the balanced setting within the iCUE software has the speeds bouncing around like crazy when I am not even doing heavy workloads, or gaming. But they're so pretty, so that doesn't matter, right? RIGHT?  And then, there's the final insult. Amazon has such a low quantity of these fan kits and single fans, that you are only allowed to purchase ONE OF EACH per account

 Tell me, when exactly was the last time you saw a PC with THREE CASE FANS? Hmm? Like 1999? The mere fact that Amazon will only let you purchase one dual fan kit, and one single fan, and have you end up with three fans, is utterly ridiculous, because NO ONE builds a computer using 140mm fans, with only three fans.  COSRSAIR, AMAZON, KINDLY GET IT TOGETHER.

Oh boy.....

 Which means you HAVE to use the iCUE software to make them work with your other stuff. Don't get these if you want everything to sync up with them unless you have ASUS Aura Sync compatible items and are willing to use additional software (like Jacknet RGB) to get it working together (not without some issues, but it's something at least). However, if you can work within those limitations, these are the BEST looking RGB fans I've seen yet, even nicer than Thermaltake's Riing Trio/Quad fans. Had to take one star off of the review because of the custom ecosystem and all of the additional splitters and adapters needed to use them, and due to the custom ecosystem they force you into, but they are a quality product

 And there's absolutely zero way to convert it to a standard 5v ARGB or 12v RGB connection for motherboards or controllers that support those formats. Instead, the fans have a 4-pin connector and proprietary data format, and the hub (Lighting Node) connects via **9-pin** USB motherboard connector. Which means you HAVE to use the iCUE software to make them work with your other stuff. Don't get these if you want everything to sync up with them unless you have ASUS Aura Sync compatible items and are willing to use additional software (like Jacknet RGB) to get it working together (not without some issues, but it's something at least)

I switched the fans to Noctua A12x15 and A12x25 because I value silence and performance. Kaze fans were rated at 800rpm max, and it's loud af at max rpm. Noctua fans at 900-950 rpm is very silent.

 And you can see with just the fan running the decibel meter was in the high 20s low 30s. According to the specifications on the back of the box, noise level is listed as being 23.9 decibels. This app on my phone how accurate it is I'm not sure

 Let's see what that does for decibel readings as well as airspeed. I'll start the fans now. As I carefully pick up the fan by the radiator you can see that the fans are spinning on both sides in this push-pull configuration. The decibel reading on my Android phones app right now where it's sitting has seemed to come down again to somewhere in the 30s

 With the fan on the radiator we're definitely getting a higher decibel reading in the 40s instead of high 20s or low 30s like before and I'll take my little wind meter and put it under the radiator as it's blowing down through the radiator and we are getting just over 3 miles an hour, 3.2 miles an hour of airspeed blowing through the radiator from this fan that on its own was blowing a little over 6, about 6.2. So it's taking about three mile an hour of airspeed off it just to push air through this 25 millimeter wide 120 millimeter radiator

 Now let's see if we can attach it to a radiator and see what difference that makes for airflow. Okay so here we are back again. I have attached the fan to a alpha cool 120 millimeter radiator which is 25 millimeters thick and I have attached it in a push configuration and we'll see what difference that makes in terms of how much airflow is getting through a thin 25 millimeter wide 120 millimeter radiator as well as what the decibel reading might be. I'll turn the fan on now

Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM Chromax Black Slim Fan Unboxing and Test Review ~ with new transitions

Haven't tested the radiator fan-temp, but on full speed, it is a bit noisy than 1350rpm Arctic F12, which I give 5 stars without hesitation. The air flow is concentrated comparing with Arctic F12, which feels like a ring air flow. I did feel the air pressure is a tad stronger at full speed. To be honest, if Arctic makes 15mm fans, I will not buy this one, because Arctic fan gave me good experience, and also provides 6 years warranty

So for builds that 25mm fans are slightly too thick, this is a perfect solution. Otherwise, stick with whatever brand fan u like
