 Need more light, wow. Now that is a monster. So it is slimmer from what I remember at Computex but I'm guessing that's a good thing, you know, they slim down the frame a little bit while it still accommodates dual systems and crazy amount of water cooling should be fun. Now normally I don't like gigantic enclosures, I prefer small compact simple ATX systems but I feel like for this one we're definitely gonna have to do something special

 I installed an ATX motherboard just to give you a reference point at how big that interior is. We have so much space above and in front of the motherboard for thick radiators and push pull so that should be fun. So I'm thinking X299 for the main ATX motherboard and a gaming ITX system with like Coffee Lake CPU and I am happy to say that there is a rubber grommet behind the ITX motherboard for all your connections and cabling should be pretty clean job for cable management. Now for water cooling enthusiasts they would absolutely appreciate all this additional space above the motherboard tray

 Cooler Master doing it right, check it out below. Alright so the Obsidian 1000D is like on a whole other level of a case, it's not particularly for me but I appreciate what it can do. It's pretty clear that this case is designed for water cooling builds only and I think it's there to directly compete against the Phanteks Elite as they're roughly the same size and support a dual system and a dual power supply configuration. It's a huge case, here's me for size reference, they've really not held anything back for radiator clearance so I think it should be pretty clear who the target audience is and why this case exists

The Most Intimidating Case - Corsair 1000D!

 Although I can't be certain, it was in the box and Styrofoam was around it when it came, so it leads me to believe that it happened during production, rather than shipping.

Absolutely love the case, by far the best case i've owned.

 The one thing I'm most concerned about actually is access to the power supply cage down here with the second system setup. Definitely when we go in here for the second try and we start integrating the water cooling stuff, I'm going to plug in pretty much all of my modular power supply cables there to make sure that if I ever need to plug anything extra in that I don't have to completely uproot this lower system in order to get at that cage. Beyond that though, the LED implementation for this build is pretty complex and I'm only running with seven RGB LED fans now as opposed to 20. I also wanted to point out that I didn't fully populate the front of the case with all of the fans and that was pretty much because I realized I was going to need to mount this radiator up there

 This board is an absolute beast. It's completely feature packed, so a perfect central home for this system. For storage, I have a collection of SSDs, starting with the NX500, the new Corsair NVMe. This is a 400 gig drive, so that's going to be a boot drive for the main system

 I've been pretty impressed with it so far. Now of course I will have more to say after I finish this build and I will be installing water cooling stuff and actually using some of the additional space in the top and the fronts to do bigger radiators to actually fill out all of those fans across the front so that will load up nicely. So I'm going to go ahead and go ahead and go ahead look a lot more uniform. You kind of do need to fill all eight of those fan slots in order for it to look normal

 I wanted to give a first look at the 1000D since it's brand new from Corsair and the successor to the 900D after so long. It's huge, there's tons of room to work with in there, not without its quirks, but for 500 bucks I think people were looking for a super high-end case that can fit two systems in it. I've been pretty impressed with it so far. Now of course I will have more to say after I finish this build and I will be installing water cooling stuff and actually using some of the additional space in the top and the fronts to do bigger radiators to actually fill out all of those fans across the front so that will load up nicely

Building a $10,000 PC in the Corsair 1000D - Riptide Part 1

Awesome now that's its done but this was by far the absolute worst building experience ever the commander pro is adhesived in bottom on the case in plain site took quite some sound doing to pry it up and stick in the back where it belongs OUT OF SITE be careful when you're doing that i almost broke the thing are you kidding me corsair why am i spending so much on a gorgeous case so i can have a mess of wires out out on display for everyone to see that aside it there isnt enough room on the back side to hide cables spent over an hour and half trying different routing to get it to all fit and im still not happy with it luckily i cant see it on my desk. Those 2 incredibly poor design problems aside the case is beautiful and feels very premium i love the magnetic doors not having to unscrew something when i need to get inside the case front panel io is great one think is did add anyway would should be there in the first place is and extention to the psu cover so it spans the whole length of case looks way nicer. Apologies for my overly excessive rant above to summarize if you can handle some frustration with routing cables and you can pry up the commander off that tar strip its on then go for it its great when its all done otherwise do yourself a favor and get nzxt or fractal they know what they're doing

 But I assume Corsair has done their due diligence with shock, vibe and drop testing.  I'll start with my issues, and why 3 stars. Could have easily been 5. It boils down to 2 things:  First is a quality control issue with Corsair

I like it!  But a fluke quality control, and factory assembly issue

It's not just because it's cool, it actually has a purpose. You can actually build two full systems inside this case at the same time. So if you were streaming, you can game on one system and capture that video and stream it out on the other system

 The $99 Zalman case this replaced had 3. 3. Cabling shroud is not adequately sized for the amount of wiring required to light this case up. If the engineering team took the cable bundle and measured it's circumference the shroud would have been bigger

First time I've ever built a PC from scratch - I chose ''Hard Mode''

 I was a little worried that the CPU pump block would be too tall for the case but it fit with no issues. This is a high-quality case with a surprising amount of room. As with any mITX case, you need to be creative with cable management. Lian Li provided lots of useful velco strips and lots of well-placed cable lances for ties
