 These setups are pretty rare though, so is this for anyone else besides that? Well, like a high end workstation, for example, might have dual Xeons and a Quadro GPU and then three additional Tesla rendering accelerators, for example, or maybe a full complement of Fire Pro cards, that could be a good example too. Or maybe you're just an energy efficiency fanatic and you really want to be at the peak of that efficiency curve. This is an 80 plus platinum rated unit, so you'll always get at least 89 to 90 percent efficiency, but you can get close to 93 percent efficiency if you're only pulling about 600 watts or about 50 percent of the HX 1200i's available wattage. And maybe there's also a silent computing aficionado out there who might note that you can pull up to 480 watts from this unit and the fan won't even need to spin up as long as the temperature inside stays lower than 25 C

 On the top is your power chart, and here's another point I've not yet mentioned. This power supply delivers all 1200 watts of its rated power via one single massive 100 amp 12 volt rail. I haven't tested this personally, but according to these numbers you should be able to power two AMD R9295X2's off of this single rail. That is quite impressive

 We can also reasonably assume that you can't really qualify for 80 plus platinum rating without using some quality parts inside, so with all that said, what do you guys think of the HX1200i?  It's really rare to see a power supply manufacturer have a single and multiple rail support. There's four things that I liked about it and two things that I didn't. Number one, it's super powerful. Number two, no coil whine or buzzing

 If you need a bigger power supply buy it rather than strain a smaller power supply to its limits resulting in issues. My choice in power supply was defined by the job I needed it to perform. In this instance Corsair 1000 Watt Power Supply was my best choice one I am still happy with today!

 Here's our main 24-pin power connector that'll plug into our motherboard. These are two 8-pin cpu power cables and the connectors do come apart so if you need something like 8 plus 4 you can do that with this. These are four 8-pin pci express cables. There's two connections per cable for a total of eight and they're in 6 plus 2 format

 Everything is really well packed in there and I don't think you'll have any issues with damage during shipping. So here's the power supply and first of all, it's super heavy. Let's get this plastic off of there. This is one big power supply

 There's five separate SATA cables here. Three of them have straight connectors and two have 90 degree connectors and there's four connectors per cable for a total of 20 so there's no way you're going to run out of like power cables for drives and stuff like that.  Although I do, I do I do wish that they included more PCIe connectors for graphics cards because sometimes you do use a high power graphics card in an ITX build and you know having just two 6 plus 2 pins is not quite enough sometimes for a really high-end graphics card. But yeah, this is an 80 plus gold 600 watt hard drive from Corsair and let's take a look inside. As you can see, this is a really small box barely just under the size of two of my hands and there's a brown box inside and we'll just pop that open and see what the power supply looks like. So here you go

 What do we have here? We have some cable ties, we have a little badge there with Corsa on it, power by Corsa, a few screws and they'll be very handy. Corsair SF600 Platinum SFX PSU Unboxing and Installation

I had purchased both the 500W SFX-L and the 600W SX600-G for an NCase compact gaming PC project I was working on, and over time, have become summarily disappointed in both products.  The 500W: - Too large to accommodate a full sized GPU in this case..

 Many people have pointed this out, and the only real solution is to replace the fan in it with a similar sized noctua. - Runs noticeably warmer than it's 500W sibling.  The options are limited for small form factor power supplies, and both of these have their faults. I would highly advise steering away from the 600W supply as it does have repeatedly reported reliability issues

 This is a complaint I've read both here, on Newegg, and other various forums. Thought it works in "Silent" mode, even at low levels of load the fan spins up, and is noticeably audible. This was a big problem for me as one of my build parameters was to be ultra-quiet  The 600W: - Started to fail after only 1 year of operation. - The fan is extremely loud, and spins up quickly with even minimal loading

 I almost RMA-ed one once (realized a board fault and canceled the RMA) - Corsair was "business friendly" in manor and willing to help - they issued the RMA without a fight. The only con I have, is that it's better to buy them retail than through a distributor, pricing is near the same and shipping, warranty service is better on the retail side. If you buy 100s at time that may be different - but we buy them 5 - 10 at a time. Okay another con - I have a ton of velvet bags now and no other swag - at some point they should send me a invite to a company party or at least a t-shirt ;)
