Corsair 4000X RGB vs Corsair Obsidian Series 1000D

This also made putting in the USB-C front panel connector difficult, which shows an oversight in the case's design itself. [I don't particularly care if the panel is removable, I would think that Corsair products at stock would perfectly fit other Corsair products at stock.] Lastly, I do wish that the case was just a bit longer so I could fit my 360mm radiator up top, but then that would obsolete the RGB connector in there by needing just one more connector [and yeah, I was bad to not do my 110% research but it really does just barely not fit]. Otherwise, for a $140 case with a $70 component pre-installed, it's very solid

Awesome now that's its done but this was by far the absolute worst building experience ever the commander pro is adhesived in bottom on the case in plain site took quite some sound doing to pry it up and stick in the back where it belongs OUT OF SITE be careful when you're doing that i almost broke the thing are you kidding me corsair why am i spending so much on a gorgeous case so i can have a mess of wires out out on display for everyone to see that aside it there isnt enough room on the back side to hide cables spent over an hour and half trying different routing to get it to all fit and im still not happy with it luckily i cant see it on my desk. Those 2 incredibly poor design problems aside the case is beautiful and feels very premium i love the magnetic doors not having to unscrew something when i need to get inside the case front panel io is great one think is did add anyway would should be there in the first place is and extention to the psu cover so it spans the whole length of case looks way nicer. Apologies for my overly excessive rant above to summarize if you can handle some frustration with routing cables and you can pry up the commander off that tar strip its on then go for it its great when its all done otherwise do yourself a favor and get nzxt or fractal they know what they're doing

Downsize from Corsair 4000X with 5900X and 3080Ti. PSA: No need to offset the side panel of Velka 3 for this GPU, just remove the “Aero” sticker from the GPU fan, the sticker rubs the side panel. PSA2: Don’t buy shorter cable Flex ATX PSU. You don’t need to spend extra $ for a shorter cable just to hide the cables

The $99 Zalman case this replaced had 3. 3. Cabling shroud is not adequately sized for the amount of wiring required to light this case up. If the engineering team took the cable bundle and measured it's circumference the shroud would have been bigger

The media could not be loaded. Used this case to build a PC for a family member. They loved the end result. Overall the case is of good quality, and putting it together it felt like a well designed setup with only a couple minor problems

But I assume Corsair has done their due diligence with shock, vibe and drop testing. I'll start with my issues, and why 3 stars. Could have easily been 5. It boils down to 2 things: First is a quality control issue with Corsair

Also, be sure to check if you're buying this for the USB type-C, make sure your motherboard has a port for it. I didn't know this so I have a useless feature until I buy an additional adapter. Lastly, a thing to consider.

More expensive cases, and I hope all cases start to shift to this, come with a cloth material rather than a plastic material, which I absolutely love ...

Although I can't be certain, it was in the box and Styrofoam was around it when it came, so it leads me to believe that it happened during production, rather than shipping.
