 Here you can see the white one which looks absolutely beautiful and it's a really nicely designed in a number of different ways, and there are a number of highlights to it that include, as you can see, a vertical mount at the rear for your gpu. So you want to shut off like that and by the way i'm going to do a separate video where i will be installing gpu separately also has several dust shields. As i said, there's one at the bottom as one for the power supply unit to prevent dust. Getting sucked up from the ground or your desk into your psu and also there's one on top, which is held in place with magnets, you can easily take that off and then for the installation process

 There'S a video by gamers nexus, which recommends doing this after they tested the various positions for your pump pipes on an all-in-one cooler and saying that you shouldn't put it above the pump, and this is uh potentially a problem because it means, if you are using the 360 ml radiator, like me, you have to put it the wrong way around with the pipes at the top something to bear in mind. There'S also not enough room to do a push pull set up there, but i went through the setup process anyway. I installed it with my fans on the outside, so you can get the maximum amount of rgb lighting and get some goodness going on there. The radiator behind that it's going to suck cold air on over the radiator and into the case, cooling, the cpu and the other components as well

 You can relocate that hard disk drive tray a bit further forward, but in my instance, where i've used a radiator on the front panel, there's not much room there, so it would be a problem. I am not using the hard disk drive in this setup of this machine, so perhaps not a problem, but i want to highlight for those that are thinking about buying it, the potential pitfalls of the lack of space in front of your power supply unit. If you're going to put hard drives in there, you're going to have a bit of a faff in terms of getting the power cables in, i would recommend installing the power cables before you put the power supply unit in unless you've got tiny, tiny hands or a Small child, you can use to help you install the cables now the tray is removable, but this is another niggle, because those thumb screws are in so tight that it's very difficult to get them out. You cannot get a screwdriver in at the right angle to be able to do it

 So you can slip things through. You can slip them over the top as well numerous different holes for looping your cables through and getting easy access to them now. One of the things that's interesting about this case is the setup of it. Obviously, it's airflow, so it's designed with an open venting system on the front

Would switching to an AIO give me any noticeable thermal gains and would I see any better boost performance off that if so? I used the paste that came with the cooler.

Overall, this is a really nice case that has plenty of airflow (hence the “Airflow” model) and a nice tempered glass window to view all of the glorious components of the computer. A great case overall, but it has some glaring flaws

 I’m planning on it, myself. But out of the box with a stand by air cooler, it’s great.

 Being an ABS prebuilt, it was in a Rosewill case. Months and months go by, and my mother board fails.  The cable management in the Rosewill case killed the board, the AIO likewise had been jammed on the ram sockets. I ended up needing new ram, new z590 board, and when I realized that the case would have the same problem even with an air cooler, a new case

 Idle temps 37-42 on a non overclocked 11900k. I would recommend getting the Corsair fans tho. I’m planning on it, myself. But out of the box with a stand by air cooler, it’s great

Small case, BIG WORKING AREA.

\- In MSI Afterburner in the fan config tab I see a dotted line at 30% fan speed that stretches across the graph. I am making an assumption that this basically means that the FE RTX 3090 is incapable of running at 0% fan? If true is there a workaround for this so I can have it idling with no fan (unless previous question answers that idling at 65 deg is a bad thing to do). It currently idles at 45 deg for reference.

For the first time in my life I've been able to afford top-of-the-line hardware and its something that can be ticked off the bucketlist. I got an FE RTX 3090 and a Ryzen 9 5900X (cooled with a Noctua NH-D15, for more context I use a Corsair 4000D Airflow with 2x 140mm Noctua Fans in the front). I don't really have any interest in overclocking and in fact basically want to do the opposite where it's tuned in such a way that I rarely if ever hear my PC component fan's spin. To achieve the results I want I configured all my fans to run at zero up until each component hits the 65 degrees threshold and then its a straightline ramp to 100% fan at 85 degrees (using MSI Afterburner for the GPU, and the bios for the CPU and case fans)

\- The CPU at idle sits at roughly 65 degrees (fans never turn on so its not like the fans are causing the temperature to "bounce") is this a safe temperature for the CPU to idle at for long periods of time? I wouldn't mind compromising and running the fan at 20% if it's meaningfully safer to bring the CPU down to a cooler temp.

Simple Questions - March 14, 2022

 The HDD enclosure sits right behind the PSU cables and will not be able to fit if you get a large PSU for the case.  Also for my particular configuration a push and pull setup on the front radiator was impossible due to space constraints.

 The NZXT H510, while looking fantastic, is an oven and not really suitable for the climate that I'm in. The NR600 is a decent budget build but the case just builds up dust too fast. I had to clean its front panel like every week. The Corsair 4000D Airflow is finally the one that I can find myself living with for the next five years or so

 My view is either have fans and cooling in the front or have fans and cooling in the side not both. I mean you can imagine if you've got exhaust as I have in the side essentially air is coming in the front and going straight out the side. I've got a liquid cooler in the front that made sense to me but I wonder if it might be mucking up airflow within the body of the chassis and I don't need them that's the thing. I don't need three fans at the front three at the side two on the roof one on the rear

 Installing cooling there and in the front that's definitely involved but as I say I wouldn't recommend that. So I suspect that someone at Corsair was sitting there looking at the 5000D while it's been developed and thought well we've got space for side ventilation let's add it. The Leanne Leo 11 and a few other cases are going well. Let's maybe not copy them but you know take a lesson from them and perhaps that was a mistake

 When they're all screwed into place it's solid I mean the case has no budge in it whatsoever there's no problem but you can see that Corsair has cut the materials to a reasonable minimum and while it absolutely looks and feels fine as you're working with the case and you're holding a panel going oh is that okay the answer is yes it is but it doesn't feel quite right. In terms of innovation there is practically none in this case it's a perfectly sound piece of work I'm sure that system integrators will be very happy using the 5000D and I'll be very happy having a PC provided using the 5000D chassis no problem whatsoever. Typical sort of complaints from Leo things like the tinted glass is heavily tinted you can see the RGB inside so that's not a problem noise reduction is almost non-existent it's quite a rackety case and the LR120 fans I've used were possibly a poor choice because our maximum speed 2200 rpm so even in balanced mode they're 1400 and quiet mode they're about a thousand and then they blat up to 1400 so they do get a bit naughty but in terms of other details things like the fact you can't put the passive line from the rear of the chassis I mean goodness gracious why ever not it's not that difficult presumably I saved a few pennies you can put it in from the this side easily enough stuff like that slightly aggravates me the PWM fan hub is welcome but it's a really conventional fan hub it's not a problem there's just no innovation overall it's a perfectly sound case it just doesn't thrill me the Corsair 5000D airflow it's a solid 8 out of 10.

Corsair 5000D AirFlow - is bigger better?

 My old case was fine for the old R5 2600/R5 3600/B350/B550/GTX 1070/RTX 2070 builds, but was starting to cook my R7 5800x/X570/RTX 3080. The 5000D Airflow knocked my temps down a solid 10C across the board, runs quieter since the fans don't have to ramp up nearly as much, and I can actually mount all 3 of my Sata SSDs in the back instead of having one just kind of wedged wherever it would fit.  This case is huge. Like, this is a piece of furniture now huge

 So huge, that I've named my build "Big Chungus."  Corsair has come a long way the last few years in terms of case design. I was leaning towards a Lian Li O11 Dynamic, but I needed drive mounts. I opted to ditch the 3

0 Type A, 1xUSB C, and 3.5mm combo jack are some pretty solid front i/o options that a lot of cases seem to skip out on.

  The removable front and side fan/radiator mounts should be standard on all $100+ cases. They save so much time and make fan installation so much easier.  I loved the inclusion of a 90° USB 3.0 header adapter, but my motherboard has its header on the bottom, so it ended up pointing the cable straight up, but if yours is on the side, it makes for a much cleaner cable run

 Obviously, if you're just gaming or editing or watching something, the power consumption will be lower. So from a real-world perspective, the cooling is not really going to be an issue here at all. I would have liked to see some extra fans yet again, but the design clearly works fine even with two fans and even with a really powerful rig like this one. Now, to conclude all this, I think that Corsair actually did a pretty good job here

It performs well, it is well-built, it is exceptionally easy to work with, and it's going to be very easy to keep clean in the long term. I would have liked to see at least one extra fan again, even if performance is solid without it, but it's hard to point out anything else that, you know, they objectively should have done better

 But let's see how this case actually performs in a full CPU and GPU stress test. Now, when you set the fans to 40 decibels at 50 centimeters distance, which is what I consider an acceptable noise level for a high-end system under load, I ended up with the following results. 77 degrees on the 16-core Ryzen CPU is pretty good, 69 degrees on a high-end 3090 is great, and a case temperature of 38 degrees after an hour of stressing makes for a really good result overall. Also, under 60 degrees on the Tomahawk VRMs with such a powerful CPU was really nice to see, especially considering the fact that this is actually a pretty reasonably priced motherboard

 And because this case is a bit taller than the 4000 series, there's actually plenty of space for a radiator and fans in the top and a tall RGB memory, so I used the Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB modules in this one to stay true to this white-black Corsair MSI theme. Now, since there is so much space, both for components on the inside and cables on the back, putting all of this together was just super easy and pretty uneventful. Now, the only thing was the 24-pin cable was a bit rougher to stuff under the cover, but that's pretty much it. I would say this case is very user-friendly
