Columbia Performance Cotton Stretch 3-Pack vs Tommy John Second Skin No-Ride-Up

I’ve replaced all my expensive cotton Tommy John briefs with the Columbia briefs which are stretch fit. Because they are essentially Synthetic I can easily wash them and wear then the next day while backpacking or traveling abroad.

Do be aware that since the fabric is very thin, when the boxer starts 'falling apart,' they fall apart quickly. It appears that the failure mode is always at the stitching of the fabric. Not surprising, or unexpected, due to the thin fabric. The only major detractor is the price

I don't wear them as my weekend-working-in-the-yard or car washing underwear. That's what my old FOTL's are for. Next, wash COLD and don't wash with other rough fabrics like 4 pair of Levi's and the jean vest with the 25 zippers. Cold with other like fabrics

The sizing chart appears to be different now then when I ordered. But when I ordered the sizing chart said size small was 30-32 waist and medium was 34-36so I went with the size small. Now that I'm writing this review I see the size chart has changed. The fit is awful, not sure if this is because of the sizing or just the design of the product

I am fairly heavyset and normally run 38-40 waist and xxl sized shirts. I ordered xl in these shorts hoping for a second skin fit but they are actually a little loose. Loose enough that I think I could have gone with a large. For the price I expect the sizes to be a little more accurate

Nice ft and very comfortable. Just wish they had a fly. Strong elastic holds underwear in place well. Good quality, comfortable, and stays in place without shifting around

Love Tommy Johns second skin! Feel great on your privates ! Love the 8 inch boxer briefs do not ride up or bunch all over ! Very very little adjusting per day ! These are quality underwear wash in gentle cycle cold water and dry light! They will not last years. Because of the modal material but your paying for comfort! Not your ordinary FTL Brands ! They are not cheap but again they feel great look great and good colors to choose from ! Customer service is excellent! After wearing these you won’t ever go back to those loose fitting boxers that go all over ! Hope this helps if your debate to spend $36 on a pair of quality underwear! Oh look for the 20 percent sales that helps a lot ! Or buy the 3 pack … been wearing TJ’s for over 5 years love how they change the colors or styles but the second skins are my favorites and I bought over 90 pairs of these quality boxer briefs in the last 4 years ! Thanks for reading! Only wish they came in a much better package then the dirty plastic bags they use cheap ! When you pay this much at least keep the ziplock bags you use to have liked much better then throwing 7 pairs in a bag in the mail … just a thought otherwise no other complaints!

Durability is always an issue with nicer underwear, and these seem to be made of a thicker fabric than many. These are very similar in feel, comfort, and stretch as the Ex Officio give n go, but they are much cheaper. Overall, I'm glad I found these. Happy with my purchase

If your muscles are toned they will rise and hang. Durability to be determined but don’t have the confidence there either. Keep your instincts and move forward.
