 All the Cobra King F8 clubs come with the Argus Cobra Connect sensors and they're built into the grips, and that allows you to download the free app, pair it with the club, take it out of the course and you'll be able to see how far you're hitting each club and also how accurate you are with each of them, which is a great thing to see that this technology has been built into these clubs and you can get it for free. Now moving on, if you wanted to change the flight a little bit more, there's also, as they had before, a plus version, this is the King F8 Plus driver, and this really is a more compact head, so this is 440 cc's compared to the 460 of the standard model, the lofts and the adjustable hosel are down a degree from the past, instead of 9 to 12, it's 8 to 11, and the weights, instead of being the back and the heel, are actually the back and the front, so again you've got 12 and 2 grams and you can vary them between the two in order to get slightly different flights. I took this on GC2 as well and at 10 degrees with the heavy weight in the back, then you were getting about a 2.7 spin and about a 2 degree higher launch than you did when you had the heavy weight in the front of the club, now when it was in the front you're actually getting a much slightly lower flight as well, so it's really just dependent on what type of flight you want and probably what type of swing speed you are, because I think really the two combined are really what's going to determine what's right for you

 Now, whilst Cobra make a lot of drivers and they give us a new one every year, this one

 has actually apparently been two and a half years in the making.

 And the reason for that is because you've got a new face on the front here, which is

 Now, it may surprise you to learn that when you weld a face insert onto the head of a

 driver, it's actually finished by hand, there's a man grinding it down.

 Well, what they've done with this particular model is that the face is actually milled

 on to the club itself, and that means that you could hopefully get a slightly more consistent

 It doesn't mean that it's flat, it's still got the bulge and the roll, which is there

 to help with the forgiveness of the club, and every club has that.

 But what it gives you here is certainly a very unique pattern here, you've got the sort

 of milling lines, they don't make any difference really to the performance of the shot, but

 What that has allowed them also to do is to make the face 3% thinner and also makes it

 So that gives them a chance to move away elsewhere in the club, and really with the whole body

 being made of 811 titanium, this is really a very light club.

 It's still got the carbon crown on top, and when you put it down at address, you'll notice

 that there's also this sort of rib pattern across the top.

 It's what they're calling Aero 360, so this is one of these air tripping devices which

 other clubs have used as well, and it's there really just to disrupt the airflow over the

 top of the club as you go through the swing, and keep the air attached to the club for

 longer which actually helps the aerodynamics.

 There's also a few of these ribs on the sole of the club as well, just in front of the

 smart pad which is there for their adjustable hosel which we'll come on to later, and really

 it's the two combined which will hopefully increase the aerodynamics of this club.

 The club comes with the MiFi adjustable hosel which allows you to adjust the club from 9

 degrees up to 12 degrees, and the other change from the F7 is that we've only got two weights

 Previously you had positions for two, two gram rates and a 12 gram, now you've just

 got two positions, so there's a 2 gram and a 12 gram, and depending on which one you

 put it in, if you put it at the back, what they're calling the high position, it will

 make it go a little bit higher, and if you put it in the heel, then it's in the draw

 position which funnily enough should create a little bit of a draw bias.

 When you put it down into dress, it's got a very nice shape indeed, it's quite sort

 of rounded, I think it looks very good, probably a little more pear shaped than the previous

 F7 driver, and you'll notice really there's a big colour change as well, the Cobra, very

 well known for the very bright colours of drivers, but all you're going to get the F8

 in is in Nardo, and if you're United States, I think you're also able to get it in black

 This is a sort of steely grey colour, it's something that you're going to see a lot of

 I think in other industries like cars and such over the coming years, and I think it

 creates a very different look, I mean I think it's in some ways a little bit of a surprise

 for Cobra, and I think that shows a brand that's going to keep you on your toes if you

 like, I think it's quite good that they've changed it, and really going to have something

 that maybe, I think they want it to focus more on the technology than the colour, so

 let's see how all this technology works.

 And I've done a lot of testing with this, and the feel for this is really good, and

 the face is just as forgiving as it's always been, so what they call the E9 face technology,

 which is where they've created a variable face thickness, no matter where you're hitting

 on the face you're not having a drop in ball speed.

 It's almost an elliptical design, so the most forgiving area is actually more in a diagonal

 line from the heel to the toe, rather they've been straight across the middle, and certainly

 the, you know, this has always been renowned as one of the more forgiving faces in the

 market, and this certainly continues very well into the F8.

 I took the King F8 on GC2 in order to see how the adjustable hosel would vary things,

 and really at 9 and 10 and a half degrees it wasn't much of a difference in distance

 for me, there was a slight difference in spin, and really it was when you got to 12 degrees

 you were noticing it was on a much higher level of spin, and that in turn was affecting

 the distance a little bit by, you know, a few yards, so you can see there are some subtle

 differences, certainly at some of the higher lofts, and that was the same across quite

 a lot of these Cobra clubs where the middle loft and the lower loft, there wasn't a great

 deal in it, whereas actually when you got to the higher loft in the adjustable hosel

 that was when you're really starting to see a slight difference in distance.
