 It's called the CBX and they've actually created quite a big cavity in the back here which is hollow and you can actually see into it and it saves 76 grams of weight which is then repositioned around the peripheral weighting of the club and also in the sole and behind that black weight which is in the center of the cavity. Maybe it does create a space where a little bit of dirt and moisture can collect but it's quite easy to get out. Now underneath the cavity is a very wide sole, compared to the RTX3 wedge from Cleveland, it's actually 5 millimeters wider in the center and 9 millimeters wider in the toe and that creates a little bit more forgiveness because it just gives, even though the bounce is maybe the same, that extra width is there to help you create a bit more bounce and also to give a bit more margin for error. They use the dual V-sole grind which they have on the RTX3 as well and that's particularly good I think out of grass in terms of just creating a trailing and leading edge which gives a lot of versatility because there's also a bit of camber towards the heel and toe as well

 Now for cavity back wedge I think the feel from this is really good, we've been trying lots of different lofts, they go from 46 up to 60 degrees and whichever one you do, coming from the grass it really is very good indeed and this is the advantage of that wider sole particularly for mid to high handicappers, I wouldn't rule this out for better players either I have to say, it just gives you that extra margin for error and I've found that particularly out of heavy rough or sort of soft conditions around the green you can open up the face a little and that extra width from the sole creates the bounce I think we all could do with and that creates the forgiveness. Now I've had this in a variety of conditions around the green and out of sand as well and it really plays very well indeed, not a great deal different to the RTX3's, I think what you're going to get from the RTX3 is probably that sort of slightly sharper feel that you're going to get from the blade, probably be a little more versatile in certain situations if you really want to open the face or hit it high or hit it low but really in terms of general play it really is the best of both worlds, you're getting the performance that you would expect from a good wedge company like Cleveland but yet you're getting the extra forgiveness which the CBS is bringing to you and I think for the majority of players I would recommend checking this out because not only does it have a lot more forgiveness it's also got a lot of feel as well, I mean they're calling it feel balancing technology we've pretty much always got to have a three word technology from Cleveland and that is because they've moved the centre of gravity more towards the centre of the face, they reckon they've got it within a couple of millimetres the actual centre of the club and that is because not only of the weight in the head but because of the micro-carity they've got in the hosel which takes weight out of there and moves it across elsewhere into the head so you've got less weight above the club and less weight to the inside of the club from the hosel and that in turn moves the centre of gravity further out so in terms of feel you could aim this up with the middle of the club and you're going to get the best possible feel and when you have that you'll also have better control of distance and a little bit better accuracy. Overall I think this is a really good wedge and no matter what your handicap level I would give it a go even if you're low single figures because it does provide that extra versatility particularly in the higher lofts I mean you could get a 56 or a 58 or a 60 and just the benefit of having that wide sole can really help players of all ability when you've got those tight shots around the green or coming at a very soft sound in the bunkers and for that reason I think the CBX is one of the best cavity back wedges on the market so please check it out.  A lot of perimeter weighting, making it very, very easy to hit. And what they've done is actually, by putting that black lug in the back, they've actually moved some of the weight out of there and put it around the perimeter. So it's really designed to be as easy to hit as possible, much easier than a traditional bladed wedge. So if you're an improving player, maybe a mid-handicapper to a high-handicapper, wants a little bit of help, especially with the full shots, this could be a wedge for you

 They expand nicely. The grooves were doing their job. The V-sole as well that they've put in here certainly helped with the turf interaction. There's obviously different bounce options, different sole options

 I think it's fantastic, especially for the full shots. It really does provide something different to all the other wedges that I've tested on the market, the bladed wedges. If it's something, if you're a cavity back player and you want some continuity through your set, you want some additional help with the distance control with your wedges, which everybody really wants, you need to go and try this wedge. Just here on the chipping green behind us, I thought it was really good as well

 The V-sole as well that they've put in here certainly helped with the turf interaction. There's obviously different bounce options, different sole options. So if you're someone who struggles with your chipping, really needs a bit of bounce to help you in and around the greens. They have those options as well

 I've got an uphill sort of run to the flag now. So I can pitch this in a little bit lower, try and release it up that slope. So I'll switch into my 50 degree option now. So I'm going to play this obviously a little bit different in the stance, keep the hands forward, just let this sort of run out a little bit more

 But sometimes then it's maybe not so good if you're a little bit steep on the ball, a little bit of a digger, it can get a little bit snagged up into the ground. But that's then when they're offering some different bounce options. So the back of the sole is where the bounce is gonna be to help you to get that club exiting out of that turf through that impact position. Okay, so let's get the 58 degree out

 It's trying to adapt to all those situations. I actually threw that right underneath that as much as I could, could definitely sort of feel it. And there you go. You can just see the little bit of grass left on there

 You can feel the sort of spin on the ball there. So that high pad weighted area, sorry, high as that CG, you hit below that, it comes out a little bit lower, a little bit hotter, a little bit more spin. That's a really good shot. That's a really good shot

 And that one again, just a little bit heavy, but got away with it. So overall lob wedge, I mean a foot, a foot and a half, a couple of feet. Can't really complain with that. That's not bad at all

Has a good grip in the hands and the shaft has steps every couple of inches to help straighten and make more ridged. The hitting surface is well engineered for a perfect hit.

Very solid wedge

 Listed are the standard specifications. You can see there are six different loft options available. And again, keep in mind that the 58 degree and the 60 degree wedges are available in three bounce options. You have a standard bounce, which is going to be for the average player that plays in medium turf conditions, takes a medium to shallow divot

 It maximizes consistency, crafting each sole for repeatable performance and turf interaction. The Hi-Toe design of the Hi-Toe 3 wedge helps to raise the center of gravity of the club, which does promote a little bit lower launch angle and provides a more solid feel.
