Clairefontaine Classic Wirebound Notebook vs Miquelrius A4 Wirebound

Came to Amazon to pick up some notebooks and had been familiar with the Clairefontaine name from the fountain pen groups. The product is great quality, shipped quickly, and arrived in good condition. I should have read the reviews a bit more because I (like others) was under the impression this was for a lack of notebooks based on the image and the title “… Wirebound Notebooks” - the name seems to suggest plural, or more than one. Overall a good product with a confusing title

This notebook also has a thick plastic cover on both the front and the back, while cheaper notebooks usually have a cardboard back. I also appreciate the different colored sections per "subject", but I wish that each section had more pages. It doesn't feel like 6 subjects at all, maybe more like 2 or 3 subjects when compared to fivestar. Overall a quality notebook, though way too expensive for my taste

I was surprised to see that A4 is actually larger than the american standard, which must be more like B5 then. The design on the front (as you can probably see from the pictures) is very cool looking, which holds up IRL too. The double rings used to hold the notebook seems very high quality, and I can't think of it disfiguring like so many cheap wirebound notebooks do. Obviously it does not feather (at least not with the stock ink on my Platinum Preppies, have not tried other wetter inks yet because I don't own any), however there is a bit of ghosting

I emailed the company and asked if they will be designing any more fashionable or pretty notebooks and they said they expect to release some new patterns in October 2020. This particular notebook, which is the Miquelrius 8.5 x11 Wirebound Notebook, 6-Subject, College-Ruled Spiral notebook, is 150 pages, which is a bit heftier than the previous Miquelrius notebooks I have purchased (which were 120 pages). Paper, while Clairefontaine 90 gsm is not a good paper. It ghosts! Maybe mine, but, it's not top coated paper

This is not a cheap notebook, but for someone who is willing to move beyond the mass-produced writing pads we used to buy in college or grad school and pay a premium for a stylish, durable, high-end way to take notes, it's a great value. The dual polypropylene covers are attractive and strong, and the quality of the paper is incredibly high and just the right thickness; ink never smears or smudges. The colored margins on the paper are boldly striking, and a great substitute for dividers. I've bought at least a couple of dozen of these notebooks in the last few years, and I hope Miquelrius never stops producing them in 8

There has been a definite improvement in packaging and the description is a little more clarifying. Each booklet I received has own plastic wrap to keep out moisture. After buying different expensive brands, I went back to these CF notebooks for value. The writing area x number pages= best value

I am very disappointed with the false advertisement of no bleed through and high price point. I wish I could return this item but obviously I have already used a few pages.

Somehow Clairefontaine figured out how to make an attractive, well-designed, easy-carry spiral notebook that won't come apart and won't get hung on everything you're wearing and carrying. Especially for college students or adults wanting a spiral-bound notebook.

These are my favorite notebooks! They are very durable, and stylish. These notebooks have a sleek look and feel, and they aren't bulky with extra inserts and dividers.
