Civivi Baklash vs Tallen Varmint Skinner Fixed Blade Knife Brown Wood

Perhaps I just received a bad example of what is seemingly a great knife otherwise, but sadly I think it'll see less time in my pocket from here on out.

Just received my knife and it is an amazing blade for the price, came sharp right out of the box. The handle is comfortable and the sheath fits well. The file work on the spine is a nice touch. I will use and abuse this knife and not worry because it didn't break the bank and yet I am proud to carry such a well made thing

But I have butter knives that are sharper than this blade!! I bought two, and both are equally dull and difficult to sharpen. That's a deal killer for me. I'm disappointed.

There is also no drain hole in the bottom, so if water gets in the sheath, your knife WILL rust. Final thoughts; I'm glad I didn't spend more on this than I did. I'll never trust this knife as my only blade on any outing due to questioning the quality of the steel and questionability of the hardness, but if I break it, I won't cry over it. I was going to return this, but after reading the return policy from the vendor, I'm not taking a $6 hit on this knife
