The second batch after a google search was a bit better... I thinned out my batter and the waffles cooked better and we were able to eat them (with ice cream!!!!!)

As long as you are careful to avoid filling the included measuring cup past the fill line, the mix will not overflow when you close the waffle maker. This is a great addition to an already impressive product as cleaning up that sticky waffle mix is one of my LEAST favorite parts of making waffles! It took about five minutes to heat all the way up but once it did, I was pumping out waffles in no time! The quick cook time was awesome and a real time saver, especially when cooking for a family of five! The non-stick coating made cleanup a breeze and eliminated the irritation of having to scrape the waffles or waffle remnants off the maker as I've had to do with other models. Overall, this is a really well made, sturdy product that Chefman put a lot of thought into. I really love mine and could never go back to my old waffle maker!

I used Pam spray prior to cooking and had no sticking issues. The removable grates are interchangeable, so no worries about which goes where. Cleaning them requires popping them out and putting them in the dishwasher, or clean by hand if you prefer. All in all I recommend this with no reservation

Poor design. You need to have a handle on both lower part of the waffle maker and the top. This one only has a handle on the top. This means that if the waffle is sticky, you will have no way to separate the top and the bottom without burning your hand

) One could turn the waffle around and cook it for an extra minute or two, but it would be better if the heating elements were designed a little better so it was even.

Overall, this is a really well made, sturdy product that Chefman put a lot of thought into. I really love mine and could never go back to my old waffle maker!

Pretty much every black part you see on this is thin, chintzy plastic which flexes way too much even when brand new. I doubt it will go through too many heat/cooling cycles before warping and ultimately cracking. And though the plates come out for easy cleaning, there are tons of little nooks and crevices for batter to flow into and crud buildup, and so it is not easy to clean as advertised. Also the smooth glossy plastic is going to look awful after a few cleanings when swirl marks start to show

And it's small, light, and so much easier to store than our last waffle iron. Note: we did receive this waffle iron for free in exchange for a review. But I can legitimately say we love it, will be getting rid of our old waffle iron, and will be using this one exclusively going forward. And will be making waffles more often because it is so easy all around

The waffle iron is too small for the batter I used. Usually make a batch for two waffles with my other waffle maker and it worked fine. This one overflowed twice, and when I tried to use less batter, it was not filling up in all areas, and was too thin of a waffle. Had to leave it in longer, and noticed one side burned both times

For the price this is ideal. Small, easy to store is a huge plus too. Cooks well, as easy to clean as most so overall a good value!

Many waffle makers i have owned provide a bell or other noise which is a nice feature. Product feels very cheaply made and the final issue i had with this was that the handle got stuck when i went to flip the waffle maker back when the waffle was ready. If this was a $20 - $25 product, it would be a good machine at that price point, but it is incredibly overpriced at $45.
