Nice coffee pot, easily filled and ready for brewing.  Short time to brew a pot of coffee, important for that first cup in the morning. Not sure who determines cup size but for me this pot makes 7 or 8 cups max or 2 stainless steel tumblers.

And it was one of the least expensive. But we were very happy to discover that it is a really good drip coffee maker, maybe the best we've ever had. It's lightweight, and feels almost flimsy, but it works perfectly, and makes noticeably better tasting coffee than our old coffee makers

The size is absolutely perfect standing 12 inches in height, and 20 inches with lid open. Most importantly the coffee taste great, and better than the big brand-name that I have been using for years. Five stars definitely recommend!

 A little clunky looking maybe, but all-in-all seemed like it fit the specifications I wanted.  I'll now cut to the chase. After brewing 4 different kinds of bean roasts (my own Italian plus 3 Starbucks), and trying both the Starbucks recipe (2 TB coffee for every 6 oz of water) and my son's (1/2 cup bean for 10-5oz. cups) the verdict is in

  First off, I wanted to make sure the temperature of the coffee was at or near the stated temperature of 200 degrees. I removed the coffee holder portion of the brewer and held a large glass measuring cup directly under where the water exits the heater. It was consistently 188 degrees. And yes, my thermometer was calibrated to boiling point at my altitude/pressure

 After a total of 10 brews all of them were below average and some were so bitter they were nearly undrinkable.  Time for a little testing..

 But it's there if you need it!  Some not so likable things: The coffee maker takes a while to brew a pot! By a while, I mean 10-15 minutes. While this may not seem like a long time, most brewing methods should not have the water in contact with the grounds for more than 6 minutes max. Although the brew time for this machine doesn't seem to affect taste too much. Most coffee comes out slightly more bitter than when I brew with my Chemex, but it is still pretty tasty

A good basic coffee make

 It is constructed well and does not appear flimsy.  So far, this appears to be a winner. I will update this review as needed.

 I have had the Zojirushi for a week now. So far, it has been excellent. I measure the temp in the carafe at 188 degrees and in the coffee ground bed at 200-202 degrees and the coffee tastes excellent. I brew using the 'time-saver' option and a full pot of 50 ounces takes about 9-10 minutes to brew

 The coffee is extracted very well without undue bitterness. I generally roast to a 'full city' or 'medium' (10-15 seconds into second crack) level so I don't roast out all the varietal character from the coffee.  The carafe keeps the coffee hot for at least four hours; we have always finished the coffee by this point. It uses a 8-12 cup cone basket and I use Melitta filters rather than the included permanent filter; my wife does not like fines/sludge in her coffee

 I decided another auto drip was in order. I reviewed all the current high-end makers, but insisted on something with a thermal carafe, brewing temp of 200 degrees, pre-infusion, made more than 40 ounces of coffee and could brew with a push of a single button, since my wife does not like to fuss with the coffee maker.  My research led me to this machine. I also looked at the Technivorm, Brazen, Cuisinart, Capresso, Breville and Bonavita offerings
