 If you wanna butter this board, you gotta get your weight way out on the nose or the tail, right into those softer spots, right where that flat section is, and really press into it. Expect a lot of rebound. Expect it to fight you. Just expect this board to want to just push back on you

 It does some things very well and it does some things very, very much in the realm of mediocre at best. I understand who this board is for and that rider will probably fully enjoy it. I am not that rider. This is not the board for me, but I think it does a disservice by having the DOA name

 You wanna keep your weight out over it. It's gonna give you some fight. It's honestly not the best if you're trying to slow speed butter. You need to really be hauling ass and really press into it, and the same can be said about jibbing with it

 You have to know what you're doing. You have to just be prepared for it. You're gonna engage it off the front, and that's gonna drive it into that turn, and then you have to understand when to steer it from the middle of the board through the back and where to finesse your weight and how to keep it engaged, because if you don't, you're gonna just have a sloppy ass carve, to be honest with you. This is a board that, the more speed and the more muscle you put into it, yeah, the better your carve's gonna go, but if you're doing slower speeds and you're still trying to lay a trench, not gonna happen

The 2021 Capita Super DOA Snowboard Review

 With this board you're going to get the same basic specs as you'll see in the regular DOA but you'll have a lighter weight construction, a stiffer board and just an all around more aggressive ride. With the Super DOA you're going to get a true twin shape so this board is ideally designed for a freestyle setting and because it's the stiffer version of the DOA it's meant to ride a little harder in that park setting so whether you're hitting those big gnarly rails or stomping 40, 50, 60 foot jumps this is the board you're going to want to ride. In the Super DOA you will get Capita's V1 resort profile so a traditionally cambered dominant board which you'll have regular camber through the length of the board but towards the tips you'll have a flat zero camber transition section, a small rocker section and then Capita's WAPOW flat kick tail technology. All of that is going to give you a super snappy and responsive board for when you're hitting those big ollies

 They have built structure into it straight out of the press that's going to keep it running fast right out of the wrapper. Because this is an aggressive board you're going to get a stiffer flex than you'll see in the regular Defenders of Awesome board. Obviously with that you're going to get a much snappier and powerful ollie as well. One of my favorite things about the Super DOA and all of Capita's boards is that they are handcrafted in the Mothership Factory in Austria

 So here we have the Capita Super DOA. The big brother board to one of Capita's best selling boards, the DOA are also known as the Defenders of Awesome. If you've been in love with the regular DOA in the past but you want a little bit more of a board, this is your next step

The Y Snowboard by Yes. is similar to the Yes. Optimistic Snowboard but is a little less aggressive and a little more rocker on the contact surfaces. This medium-flex, pow plow is a stiffer ride for the intermediate, all-mountain ripper.

The Good Ride

 Even the hybrid next to it and the Orca feel definitely more tapered, like they need more back foot weight. The hybrid not as much as the Orca, but the Orca definitely more back foot weight. The Gremlin's kind of similar to this. It doesn't feel as washy on the tail, but all of them are kind of backseat rides

 It just is a really fun ride at a really good price point with excellent edge hold and just a really fun turning experience that just shines at across the groomer to circle carves. And it's just the board I want to take out when I'm in a turning mood and I just want to lay it out as hard as I can. That's the board, but it's also really good as a powder board, as your dedicated powder board actually. It can serve two functions really well and it's just highly recommendable, especially for this price point

 The 53 is fun, but it's just a little too wide, a little too much for me. With the Gremlin, the 52 is perfect, the 55 is too much. Now in terms of shape, this is a pretty directional shape, even though it doesn't have a ton of taper. But what I like about that is it doesn't feel as washy on the tail as some boards

YES Y 2022 Snowboard Review vs. Lib Tech Orca, Gnu Gremlin, YES Y and YES Optimistic

 Um, we rode this with Union Falcors, uh, specifically in Adidas Tactical ADVs. Um, to give you a quick summary, take the old Optimistic that was, you know, Cam Rock instead of modern Camber and put it at a lower price point and you have the Y. Uh, the Yess Optimistic right there got kind of souped up, um, and it's, you know, it's got a, uh, lighter, uh, poppier top sheet and, uh, it's a higher price point and that's modern Camber. That's the, this is the Y, um, you know, to look at the flex, that's why it's the Y

 That's, that's kind of a fun, this, this can really just kind of do everything. The edge hold on this is exceptional, um, you know, it's got that disrupted side cut, uh, underbite technology and it's an indention and you can see on the table, I give you a nice close up look at this, but this just grips really hard if you, if you ride in icy snow, uh, icy to hard conditions often, you're looking at, uh, a board that can really hold well. Uh, don't you feel like, edge hold was no, no issue. I mean we, yeah, it's definitely on the soft side today but we, we're out here first thing and there are shaded areas that were harder and there was no issue with edge hold
