 So we got a few crazy powder days with hardly anyone around to track them out, but now I really appreciate how hard it is to hike to ride, even with snowshoes.  The only thing I can't do on it is press, it's too stiff for me to do that. I still really like it in soft and fresh snow, there's enough stiffness to really lean back and you can count on it holding everything together, it always feels stable. I ride a couple of different sets of blindings on this in different clips, though mostly it's Burton cartels, which are the black and the pinky red ones, as well as some Burton step-on X. Step-on bindings were pretty handy when we were hiking features in the park just trying to learn new tricks

 Good. These few clips are from Hotham in Australia in 2020, our mountain got shut down very early and people weren't allowed to travel, but everyone who was living up there was still able to hike. So we got a few crazy powder days with hardly anyone around to track them out, but now I really appreciate how hard it is to hike to ride, even with snowshoes. Capita Mercury Snowboard Review Part 2

 Hello snowboarders of the internet! I'm your host, Abram LaFeber, and in this video we're gonna be reviewing the Capita Mercury. This board features Capita's Resort V2 profile, which is cambered to just outside the insert and then rocker in the nose and the tail. They'll say it's reverse camber, it's rocker. Basically this board's cam rocker

 So what you're gonna get is the load and pop of traditional camber underfoot, but you're gonna get a little bit more play out in the nose and the tail which will give you a little bit more ease of entry in and out of turns as well as more optimal powder float. This board is available in 150, 153, 155, 157, 159, 161, 156 wide, 158 wide, 160 wide. I rode this board at Copper Mountain and what can only be described as the ultimate way to test any board because we had sunny bluebird skies, cloudy skies, cooler temps, warmer temps, fresh snow, chunder snow, frozen snow, heavy wet dead-ass powder, ice, death cookies, creamy groomers, firm fast groomers, and I rode it with my Rome black label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots. So the overall flex of this board comes in at just past middle of the road all-mountain freestyle

 You got that rocker in the nose and the tail. So all you need to do is really pop into it, flex it a little bit. You're going to lock into that press. You're going to feel the camber take over, give you a little bit of fight, which is going to give you that snap out of it, but it doesn't overwhelm you

 I rode this board at Copper Mountain and what can only be described as the ultimate way to test any board because we had sunny bluebird skies, cloudy skies, cooler temps, warmer temps, fresh snow, chunder snow, frozen snow, heavy wet dead-ass powder, ice, death cookies, creamy groomers, firm fast groomers, and I rode it with my Rome black label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots. So the overall flex of this board comes in at just past middle of the road all-mountain freestyle. You got a little bit more play in the tips, then it stiffens up about midway from the up kick to the insert pack through the middle with a noticeable amount of torsional flex but nothing overwhelming with it. In fact, it's kind of just a predictable flex with this board although I will say it does feel stiffer than previous generations that I've ridden

The 2022 Capita Mercury Snowboard Review

 This board is very nimble edge to edge, and what you're really going to notice is the torsional flex on this board. When you load up and you're in a carve and you're pushing it and you really want to drive it further, you can just flex that board, twist it in there, get it to arc that carve, and drive it even harder if you have to. This is one of those boards that if you're being mellow and you're carving and suddenly you just want to throw a Eurocarb out of nowhere, go for it. You don't have to worry about it

 All right, so we got a middle of the road all-mountain flex, which means softer tip and tail, stiffer section underfoot and through the middle, with a fair amount of torsional flex. Now, I do believe that they have softened this board up compared to what it has been in the past. Now, when it comes to stability, stable to a point, you're going to see some chatter in the tips and that will resonate and reverberate back underfoot. You're going to feel that

 The snow was fast when I rode it. And I rode this board with my K2 Thraxis boots and my K2 Indy bindings. All right, so we got a middle of the road all-mountain flex, which means softer tip and tail, stiffer section underfoot and through the middle, with a fair amount of torsional flex. Now, I do believe that they have softened this board up compared to what it has been in the past

The Capita Mercury Snowboard Review

 I've been riding this in early season conditions, I've hit plenty of hidden rocks, stumps and it seems tough. A few times up I've looked down expecting to see core shots of edge damage but so far it's dealt with it without a problem. Although it doesn't come in wide widths it's pretty much a mid-wide board anyway. The 159 and 161 sizes have a waist width of 259 and 261 millimeters so if you have big boots they're going to be a good option

 The base is the fastest the Capita have that's just found on their top end boards and it comes with a nice structure as well. So I'm riding the 157cm model which has a suggested weight range of 59 to 86 kilos or 130 to 190 pounds. I'm right in the middle of that range at about 72 kilos so it makes sense that the flex feels pretty accurate to how Capita describe it. For all mountain riding with the way I ride the flex is pretty much perfect for me

 It's about as close as you can get to one board that rides everything well. The camber profile with the rocker on the nose and tail still gives you good edge hold on icy snow. It has a solid feel and the rocker tones it down a little bit so there's none of the catchier feeling you sometimes get with full camber boards. It floats well in deep snow, has great pop and a really fast base

I bought this board without riding it because it sounded like a board I would like and I'd heard good things about it from friends who had ridden it that have a similar riding style to me.  If you want to lay a trench you can if you want to just do Quick setup turns. You've got this. You don't really have to worry about it Who's this board for the price conscious park rider that wants a softer flexing freestyle board with a little bit of snap This board never disappoints I think people overlook it in the Solomon lineup just due to the price point or because they're pushing the villain the sleepwalker the Huck knife and the craft just sort of sits there like hey, I'm still a good ride and With that said it's got snap. It's playful where you want it

 This board is available in 150, 153, 155, 158, 157 wide, 160 wide, 162 wide I rode this board at Copper Mountain on a sunny bluebird day with warm temps, zero wind There was firm fast corduroy, pressed down chundery corduroy, lumpy snow, slush, slop Kind of a mix of all spring like conditions and I rode it with my Rome black label bindings and my K2 thoraxis boots It's a softer flexing park board that comes in just below the middle of the road You got this immense sweet spot through the tips then it stiffens up right through the insert pack with a lot of Torsional flex to it now if you're hoping for stability throw that out the window This thing flaps like a bird about to take flight at high speeds those nose and tail are just going hello I'm gonna fly away and you're gonna feel everything underfoot and really run it out lumpy mashed potato snow You're getting bucked around. So keep those knees bent Basically, like I said, if you thought it was gonna be stable, it's not it's not stable at all Bend your knees be prepared for that compared to the flex the snap in this board is Amazing for something of this caliber. It's very easy to load up You don't really have to fight it to engage it and what it does is that camber through the center? Activates off that rocker in the tail and you get like a little springboard effect It's almost a skate like pop this boards a blast for launching cat-track gaps side hits I ain't over slow signs and when it comes to jumps small to medium jumps are really it's strong suit anything bigger You're gonna want something a little stiffer just for when you come down But this board will pop off the lip with ease It does well in the air if you don't want to pop and let the lip throw you You still get a little bit of snap out of the tail just from that little whoo pop and it's good The sports fun with the flex shape everything going on with this board You got an optimal deck to learn to butter on or if you know how to butter it won't hold you back You got this nice sweet spot out the nose and the tail where you can really lock into the press you feel right where the Camber meets that rocker zone, which it doesn't fight you but it lets you know. Hey if you need spring, I'm here So when you're really pressing into it, you can pop back out swivel back around go sideways Do whatever you need it can get a little hooky just with the side cut if you're being a little soggy with how you do Everything so be aware of that and when it comes to jibbing, like I said that sweet spot in the nose and the tail That's where you want to get your weight Situated and that's where it's just gonna press and it's gonna hold and it's gonna look good And then you're gonna get that spring from the camber out of the end of the feature

 It's great When you go sideways, you got so much flex there. It really hugs right around the board I mean if you come down in disaster, it's gonna clap out But if you just like pop it on little board slide, you're gonna be fine You're gapping a DFD into the D. You're just gonna be like slam and that thing's gonna clap out on you That's what this board is designed for It's an approachable jib butter board in my opinion meaning that if you're progressing you don't have to worry about it You can be laid-back or you can be assertive with it surprisingly for a park board of this nature. It can actually carve It's got a smooth and fluid edge-to-edge transmission that isn't necessarily nimble, but it's just Predictable, you know what you're gonna get with it You don't really steer it out at the contact points you steer it more under foot Just where that camber section comes down to the rocker So under foot to just slightly past it and that allows for a little bit more ankle steering You don't have to drive it as aggressively now if you do want to drive it You can flex that back knee into the center of the board really push into that camber section What's gonna happen is that's gonna activate that tail rocker and that's gonna give you a little more spring out of the turn overall This board is easy to carve with it's approachable

The 2022 Salomon Craft Snowboard Review

 Hey, I'm Sam from Snow & Rock, and this is the brand new Salomon Craft. So this is a 350 pound true twin medium soft flex snowboard, I have to say it's a whole lot of fun. So in terms of flex, it's built on the same sort of chassis as the old Assassin, same camber profile and side cut, but it's obviously softened up, so it's a bit softer in the tip and tail, a bit softer between the feet. So the Salomon Assassin, one of their other boards in the range, one of their do everything all mountain sort of quiver killers, that got updated last year, and this is now built on the old Salomon Assassin chassis, so they've taken the side cut, taken the camber profile off of that, but softened it up, made it a little bit softer between the feet and in the tip and tail

Salomon Craft 2020 Snow+Rock Snowboard Review

 It sucks up the transition in the landing if you overshoot. It's just a great board for progressing on when you're jumping and just popping off different things. There is a very ample sweet spot in the nose and the tail, and that slightly off blunt shape coupled with the rocker give you just great properties for pressing on this board, especially if you're buttering or jibbing. You can really lean into it, leverage your weight over the board

 You want to jib, you want to jump, you want to ride the whole mountain. Go for it. It truthfully is a quiver of one type of board with that camber and rocker profile. This board features Solomon's rock out camber profile, which is flat into a camber zone into rocker out by the tip and the tail

 It's going to just lock in and grip when you need it or be loose and playful when you want it to be. The Craft is a completely underrated board from Salomon in my opinion. It's possibly my favorite freestyle board in their line. It's playful where you want it, but it's got precision when you need it

The Salomon Craft Snowboard Review

 Very playful, bouncy, nice, soft in the nose and tail, but stiff underfoot, holds an edge real well. So this isn't an expensive snowboard by any stretch is it? It's very reasonably priced but if I'm honest I think it actually rides a little bit above it's price point doesn't it? Definitely, 100%. Yeah, you're getting a lot of bang for your buck with this bad boy. So what have we got going on? So the board itself is rock out camber, so rocker coming down in the nose and tail camber in the middle making it nice and poppy but playful as well

 Yes, it just really helps in driving the turn and helping control your edge as you're going through it. I can also see that there's these little rubber inserts just underneath each binding as well. I guess that works just like a bit of a dampener. Yeah, if you're taking it in the park and stuff like that it helps with landings, absorption and stuff like that
