 So we got a few crazy powder days with hardly anyone around to track them out, but now I really appreciate how hard it is to hike to ride, even with snowshoes.  The only thing I can't do on it is press, it's too stiff for me to do that. I still really like it in soft and fresh snow, there's enough stiffness to really lean back and you can count on it holding everything together, it always feels stable. I ride a couple of different sets of blindings on this in different clips, though mostly it's Burton cartels, which are the black and the pinky red ones, as well as some Burton step-on X. Step-on bindings were pretty handy when we were hiking features in the park just trying to learn new tricks

 Good. These few clips are from Hotham in Australia in 2020, our mountain got shut down very early and people weren't allowed to travel, but everyone who was living up there was still able to hike. So we got a few crazy powder days with hardly anyone around to track them out, but now I really appreciate how hard it is to hike to ride, even with snowshoes. Capita Mercury Snowboard Review Part 2

 Hello snowboarders of the internet! I'm your host, Abram LaFeber, and in this video we're gonna be reviewing the Capita Mercury. This board features Capita's Resort V2 profile, which is cambered to just outside the insert and then rocker in the nose and the tail. They'll say it's reverse camber, it's rocker. Basically this board's cam rocker

 So what you're gonna get is the load and pop of traditional camber underfoot, but you're gonna get a little bit more play out in the nose and the tail which will give you a little bit more ease of entry in and out of turns as well as more optimal powder float. This board is available in 150, 153, 155, 157, 159, 161, 156 wide, 158 wide, 160 wide. I rode this board at Copper Mountain and what can only be described as the ultimate way to test any board because we had sunny bluebird skies, cloudy skies, cooler temps, warmer temps, fresh snow, chunder snow, frozen snow, heavy wet dead-ass powder, ice, death cookies, creamy groomers, firm fast groomers, and I rode it with my Rome black label bindings and my K2 Thraxis boots. So the overall flex of this board comes in at just past middle of the road all-mountain freestyle

 You got that rocker in the nose and the tail. So all you need to do is really pop into it, flex it a little bit. You're going to lock into that press. You're going to feel the camber take over, give you a little bit of fight, which is going to give you that snap out of it, but it doesn't overwhelm you

The 2022 Capita Mercury Snowboard Review

 This board is very nimble edge to edge, and what you're really going to notice is the torsional flex on this board. When you load up and you're in a carve and you're pushing it and you really want to drive it further, you can just flex that board, twist it in there, get it to arc that carve, and drive it even harder if you have to. This is one of those boards that if you're being mellow and you're carving and suddenly you just want to throw a Eurocarb out of nowhere, go for it. You don't have to worry about it

 All right, so we got a middle of the road all-mountain flex, which means softer tip and tail, stiffer section underfoot and through the middle, with a fair amount of torsional flex. Now, I do believe that they have softened this board up compared to what it has been in the past. Now, when it comes to stability, stable to a point, you're going to see some chatter in the tips and that will resonate and reverberate back underfoot. You're going to feel that

 The snow was fast when I rode it. And I rode this board with my K2 Thraxis boots and my K2 Indy bindings. All right, so we got a middle of the road all-mountain flex, which means softer tip and tail, stiffer section underfoot and through the middle, with a fair amount of torsional flex. Now, I do believe that they have softened this board up compared to what it has been in the past

The Capita Mercury Snowboard Review

 I've been riding this in early season conditions, I've hit plenty of hidden rocks, stumps and it seems tough. A few times up I've looked down expecting to see core shots of edge damage but so far it's dealt with it without a problem. Although it doesn't come in wide widths it's pretty much a mid-wide board anyway. The 159 and 161 sizes have a waist width of 259 and 261 millimeters so if you have big boots they're going to be a good option

 The base is the fastest the Capita have that's just found on their top end boards and it comes with a nice structure as well. So I'm riding the 157cm model which has a suggested weight range of 59 to 86 kilos or 130 to 190 pounds. I'm right in the middle of that range at about 72 kilos so it makes sense that the flex feels pretty accurate to how Capita describe it. For all mountain riding with the way I ride the flex is pretty much perfect for me

 It's about as close as you can get to one board that rides everything well. The camber profile with the rocker on the nose and tail still gives you good edge hold on icy snow. It has a solid feel and the rocker tones it down a little bit so there's none of the catchier feeling you sometimes get with full camber boards. It floats well in deep snow, has great pop and a really fast base

 You know like we were talking about there's a nice healthy bow of camber underfoot transitioning to what seems like a touch maybe just a touch of rocker in the tail but feels almost like full camber and then you just have a really mellow directional rise that just kind of like seems to meet almost the curve of the nose which is super cool and it doesn't seem like much but it really does help with directional float. It kind of reminds me other than that you know that with Burton they have this kind of directional rocker very similar style but Burton has that kink nose where this just kind of seems to be laid down be laid down a lot more and interact with the the rocker and the nose a lot better and just kind of make it seem like it's just one really really long nose and you know I really like this board and so you can get some pretty decent directional setback. Let's talk about setback on board though because it's always so different than the setback on sidecut leads you to believe so you're looking at 22 inches all the way back which is pretty good kind of the average thing here and you're looking at 22 and a quarter and you're looking at 18 so you're looking at 4 and a quarter back on board which is pretty good not quite as good as the broadcast from what I remember but you know pretty good and you can get really good directional float on this and that's what makes this such a fun one board quiver. Yeah it favors directional riding just a touch but you can center this up and treat this like a very aggressive mountain freestyle board on groomer days and then set it all the way back on deep powder days and get good directional float

 I was much more capable when it came to buttering on snow with this than I was with the the other board and I tried it at the demos and then got this for extended demo which was great. You can kind of see the base just kind of, you know, clear, unwaxed, kneading wax and when it does it'll probably have a nice glide to it. As it stands now it was a little sticky.  The good ride sucking less every year for over 10 years The good ride sucking less every year for over 10 years Yeah, ah that's actually stiff and look at this camber profile you got a Steve Steven flex it It was flexing on me though, it's camber underfoot with a little more rocker in the nose Then in the tail, but there's some rocker in the tail They say it's a hybrid of three passports the turbo dream the ultra dream and the slay blade Slay in a world of soft all-mountain boards You have the man Fest and that's what's going on here with this board. It's super stiff Aggressive all-mountain yet forgiving all-mountain yet Just like it does not give a flip about what is in front of it It doesn't give a flippin fuck doesn't know I try and stay I try and appeal to our our younger It doesn't give a flippin fuck about not yeah. Yes. Yeah Seriously over chunder Like over ice this thing just goes over it all it's so damp like you get no reverb No chatter No, if sands or butts About it if this thing is just a beast beast mode board You know what I gotta say out of all the boards

 I had no problem with it. So maybe it is a little little off I felt super off right switch on it and I believe like the old boards this has a setback on Sidecut as well as board and I would imagine it's probably point seven five I haven't checked the specs, but that's how the other ones were They were all point seven five and that kind of seems to be k2s thing So that's my guess check the specs below to see hopefully we'll get this for extended demo I can slap this on the table. We can talk about setback on board as well as Setbacks on side cuts did I suffer in succotash slumber face you just now Okay, but man, I think this is you know, there are still there's so many people that love the bomb But this isn't just a bombing board this I Can't remember In recent memory there aren't many boards out here like this. Yeah, you know It definitely lives a touch on the directional side, but it's definitely doable switch At least in my opinion, especially if you get used to it, but it's a great all-mountain board it's the kind of board you want to if you looking for a one board quiver and You love to just bomb and you love to carve and you love to turn you like good air This can get good air and this can straight line a kicker a big fucking kicker Yeah, I'd take this in the pipe because I had no problem turning this You know what? I mean, this just this is a very good all-mountain board I would love to test it against some of our favorites and Really see how it does because I think it would be right up there with boards like the Jones Mountain Twin the Oz custom woody So many other like, you know Direction direction alish

K2 Manifest Review First Impression

 It's fun It's easy Once you understand that to just do any kind of butter variation whether you're in soft snow creamy snow or a firm groomer There's a smooth nimble and responsive edge to edge control on this board it just rolls in and out of turns with such ease and you notice those clear defined flex points and the Overall flex in shape and camber profile this board work in conjunction to really let you dial your turns in You're able to engage Outside that front foot but it steers more from the middle through the tail if you're really driving a hard carve If you want to be laid back you can ankle steer under foot and it's fine but then when you need to push it on that turn you could drive your knee to the center of the board loading that Camber and getting it to activate that rocker to slingshot you out of a turn Mellow easy setup turns medium level carves or those deep hard aggressive carves It covers all bases with this board. You really feel that it wants to be on edge and it really wants to drive Who's this board for the all-mountain free ride guide that likes some freestyle flair? So I've written the regular manifest and it was okay It was a snowboard that did snowboard things didn't really stand out as being this end all be all but this board is lighter It's got a different flex pattern to it and it's just more responsive which makes it a better ride in my opinion this board Just works with everything It's got going on with it to make it that all-mountain free ride board But you can still have that freestyle flair with it. So you can go spin off of a side hit You could go in the park if you needed to It's great. This is just a good board through and through and I think it's gonna be one of those Seminal sleeper hits with the people that understand who this is actually for Comparable boards the Jones flagship the Capita mega mercury the yes standard binding recommendations the K2 lean AT The now select Pro the Rome katana This has been my review of the K2 manifest team

 You're really gonna just start leveraging your weight You're gonna feel that rebound and fight of the board coming into play and it's gonna want to and if you just keep Leveraging your weight outside it you're gonna notice that you've got this just optimal huge sweet spot in the nose and the tail to lock into butters and Once you've basically engaged that rocker section The sky's the limit on what you can do you can swizzle and sizzle till your heart's content. You just need to make it Through the flexing of those flex points to get it to engage and when you do like I said It makes all the difference in the world. It's fun It's easy Once you understand that to just do any kind of butter variation whether you're in soft snow creamy snow or a firm groomer There's a smooth nimble and responsive edge to edge control on this board it just rolls in and out of turns with such ease and you notice those clear defined flex points and the Overall flex in shape and camber profile this board work in conjunction to really let you dial your turns in You're able to engage Outside that front foot but it steers more from the middle through the tail if you're really driving a hard carve If you want to be laid back you can ankle steer under foot and it's fine but then when you need to push it on that turn you could drive your knee to the center of the board loading that Camber and getting it to activate that rocker to slingshot you out of a turn Mellow easy setup turns medium level carves or those deep hard aggressive carves It covers all bases with this board. You really feel that it wants to be on edge and it really wants to drive Who's this board for the all-mountain free ride guide that likes some freestyle flair? So I've written the regular manifest and it was okay It was a snowboard that did snowboard things didn't really stand out as being this end all be all but this board is lighter It's got a different flex pattern to it and it's just more responsive which makes it a better ride in my opinion this board Just works with everything It's got going on with it to make it that all-mountain free ride board But you can still have that freestyle flair with it
