CamelBak Eddy+ vs Takeya Actives

I have the CamelBak Eddy+ Vacuum Insulated bottle and it’s brilliant. It is stainless steel BUT I’ve dropped it countless times and it hasn’t dented once. 10/10 would recommend.

The overall design of this bottle is great, but I have a free promotional cup that keeps things colder than this bottle does. It does keep things colder than if there they were just in a plastic bottle, but the 24 hr thing is a definite overstatement and ice still melts in them as well. The handle is nice and I like the way the cap screws down over the part you drink out of, so I'm never putting my mouth on a dirty bottle when I carry it in my kayak. This bottle would be a 10 if it kept things colder, but since that's the whole purpose I think three stars is pretty generous

At least once a week I look down at the bite valve has popped off and disappeared. The slightest graze from my coat or bag and it pops right off. I keep losing and then having to replace this part, which is super annoying. Otherwise a very good water bottle but this top piece needs some work

Overall, however, it's easy to keep clean, keeps water cold, and is very durable without being too heavy.

I have had a few Camelbak Eddy bottles and was always disappointed in the constant leaking from the straw lid. I liked the size and how easy it was to grip so I repurposed them to my water bottle for road trip driving (great to drink easily while driving!) or switched the cap out for carrying drinks other than water. This version is much improved. I love the wider finger grab, the better straw set up AND (most of all) it is hard to make it leak while bent over with a pack or if you accidentally drop it

* Without the straw, I found this bottle only works if I have it perfectly lined up with the handle facing upward. If I try to drink sidewise, nothing comes out

The main issue is the mold that keeps growing on the cap. I use this as my main water bottle every day and I have to wash the lid every other day to get rid of the mold smell, but it just keeps coming back. Makes me feel like I’m exposing myself to a lot of mold spores on a daily basis which is toxic to your body over time. The other big problem is that it’s not a standard water bottle size, it’s too wide to fit in the cup holder in cars and in the side cup pocket on backpacks (I’ve tried multiple)

This bottle was completely wrong for me! My husband bought it as a gift….but it was awkwardly too big to fit into my bike water bottle cage. With the straw system, it was really hard for me to suck the water and you’re left with a cleaning problem when you have a straw! It’s a nice color, and it had a handle….which I guess is okay, but I find it much better to have the “pop-open” and tip to drink type of bottle that will fit into bike water cages and other spots designed for water bottles

But it’s still my favorite bottle to take with me anywhere and for the children to have in the back seat of my car with no worries!

I needed a bottle with a secure lid that won’t let bugs or grass clippings blow in AND keeps the water cold AND won’t sweat all over the place. Finally found one that checks all the boxes. AND this one fits in my cup holder - in my Honda CRV and the riding mower. Also

I really appreciate how lightweight this bottle is. Additionally, it's super easy to clean by tossing it in the dishwasher. I know many people prefer their water iced, but because I like my room temperature, this is the perfect bottle for me! It's not insulated and maintains my water the exact temperature I like. :)

Not the same as older water bottles. This is thinner, lighter weight, does not hold ice without melting as long as the water bottles I bought several years ago. Same price, just cutting corners on quality.

This water bottle is sleek and spill proof. I like the silicone soft straw spout, but it’s a little cumbersome to clean. Don’t put anything with particulate like a smoothie in it. Water is perfect though

Other brands are great but I really think you get a bargain with this bottle. The handle and silicone boot really make this bottle. The handle is comfortable. The silicone boot protects the bottle

DO NOT BUY. The spout must be bitten to open and its only protection from the elements is for just one side of it to fold down into a divot..

I'm going to see how it holds up to rougher environments which are where I'm usually lugging these to, such as offshore fishing, landscaping, tree work, etc. With the excellent lid design and at a little over half the price of the 36 oz. Yeti bottle, I'm more than willing to take a chance on this one.

Comfortable to drink out of. I haven't had it for long but I hope the rubber mouthpiece doesn't catch smells and is easy to clean in the long term, so far so good. I like that I can chew and bite on it. The straw sometimes comes loose so that I have to open the bottle and put it back in but not often enough that it's an issue
