 Here you got two dual ceramic coated cooking plates, which are 11 times more durable than a standard nonstick and super easy to clean. Just get like a damp paper, towel or rag. Easy and a fork is what i use or like a butter knife, wrap it in the rag or the paper towel and just like wipe it through here super easy to clean. Nothing really sticks on here

 Like traditional waffle makers, so right here on the front, you just have your off on light light. Setting is what i cook mine on, but you just put it and whenever you have the waffle batter in there, so first it's going to pre-heat when you turn it on and then it's going to say ready to cook when it's ready to cook. You just pour your batter right in here. Just fill it up, maybe like just till the top of the black part, is showing you don't have to put too much uh, because if you put too much it's just gon na overflow into this little um these sides, right here and depending on how burnt or How cook you want it, i would say the max if you're a regular person uh, it's probably two, we'll probably give it like a golden brown light is like a light brown and after that, it's just like it starts to get dark brown like kind of and Dark is just like super burnt, so i would recommend just putting it on like level two to one and when it senses it after it's ready to cook, you put it in there uh just close it it'll start to sense

Sleek, contemporary design

A quality waffle maker!!!

  So I bought this twice. The first waffle maker had the same issues that many other reviewers have noted: the timer and cooking sensor are not always working or in sync. At times the waffle maker didn’t realize that I had put batter in it closed it and to start the timer.  I thought I had a dud so I ordered another as a replacement… the same issues persist as the first

 Just know that you will have to stand there and watch the waffles cook b/c the timer or sensor does not work at all.

It kinda works

Nice thick crispy on the outside tender on the inside waffles. Worth every penny. Easy to use tho when the package arrived it looked like it had been to Iraq and back. Also box the maker was in was split open but the contents were fine

 This is why I gave it only 4 stars. U gotta package it right at the warehouse for something this high priced. I have used a mix where u add only oil and water and have also used a recipe from scratch when making waffles and both versions were delish!

worth the price

I consider myself an amazing waffle maker and have run through the gamut of waffle irons. This Calphalon Intellicrisp is pretty innovative. I like the electronic display that lets you know when it's Preheating, Ready to Cook, or Ready, along with the countdown timer. I also like how you can adjust your darkness, setting

 No matter which setting you put it on you have a crisp waffle, just depends how dark you want it. The best feature is that its truly a non-stick cooking surface in which an oil-based spray is not necessary prior to cooking for that day, or prior to cooking each waffle. The device is fairly bulky and takes up a fair amount of counter space which makes storage options questionable. Although, there is a simple locking feature on the side that would help the appliance stay closed if stored sideways somewhere

Great Features, one small Con

I was very excited to received this BF deal. As soon as I opened it I wiped it with a sponge and dried it with a paper towel. Next I made a small batch of pancake batter to test the heating elements. The batter spread nicely and I drizzled some turbinado sugar on top to test the non-stick ceramic coating

 It takes what seems up to 30 seconds for the machine to realize something is cooking and I feel like the timer is too long. I had the waffles on the middle heat setting and checked after three minutes. If I had waited for the timer (4:30 min) to beep these would had been way too brown.

Promising but flawed

Before ordering this waffle maker, I was excited to have found one that was ceramic non-stick coated. So after shopping around, I found that Kohl’s offered the best price and ordered it.

After cleaning it out of the box, it cooked near-perfect waffles on the first try on the medium setting, but I would have liked them to be lighter. However, turning the knob did not seem to have any effect on the outcome. It lessened the amount of time on the timer, but strangely enough that did not make the waffles any lighter. 

Upon opening the box, the product looked a bit flimsy and of poor quality. It also had a strong chemical odor. The design was nice and simplistic, though.

Finally, as many others have stated, it did not always recognize that the lid had been closed to begin cooking. This is a major minus and defect. I’ve considered exchanging it for another, but I have doubts if Calphalon’s qualiy control is so bad, whether they’ll be able to provide one that works as it’s supposed to without me having to go through numerous returns and prep steps to find out for myself which ones actually work.

While this model certainly isn't perfect, the increased cost of getting a higher quality product won't necessarily be worth it for many consumers. This unit's cooking performance was squarely average. When set to some of the lower cooking settings, waffles would often come out unevenly cooked with varying levels of brownness across the length of the waffle. Our testers found fewer inconsistencies when set to higher cooking settings. The built-in timer was reasonably accurate and reflected the actual level of doneness selected. Our testers appreciated that the overflow basin was removable and dishwasher safe. Few models we tested have this feature. If you value cleaning convenience, this could be a key consideration. We found that batter would stick to the basin horribly unless coated with a serious amount of cooking spray. The basin is also quite large, and our testers never had any batter spill onto the counter. 
This model felt moderately safe to operate. It has no on or off switch but immediately starts heating up when plugged in, so you must remember to unplug it after cooking. The biggest issue with this model is how inconsistent it can be. While it often produces yummy and evenly cooked waffles, it will often turn out one with various levels of doneness and textures. If your looking for a decent waffle maker at a reasonable price and don't mind some cooking inconsistencies, you'll be more than pleased with this model.

  We did opt for the copper color grills, believing they may have better and longer-lasting non-stick properties, and wanting to get away from the "flaking" black colored grills that more than one review talked about. It was a good choice..

We purchased this waffle maker to replace an older, similarly styled (flip) waffle maker that decided it was time to move on to the next life (that would be the recycled life or a landfill, wherever they took it). The old one was really nice, heavy, sturdy, and it had a light to let you know when the waffle was done. It's still available, but only for more than twice the $79.95 we paid for it a decade or more ago

 it's probably in the description someplace, and we were just probably spoiled from our other waffle maker. So each waffle needs to be timed on a clock/watch/timer so as to get it done and not over-done. If slightly under-done, you can just close the unit again and give it another minute. The time will vary based upon the temp setting, the waffle mix and maybe the day of the week

  One nice feature is that it's easy to clean up, at least with the copper grills, and assuming you don't over-fill it badly. With a little practice on the first waffle or two, I was able to determine just how much batter to pour into it using a 1-cup measuring cup, and by pouring fairly evenly all the way around the circle, I had virtually nothing to clean up. If anything oozes out between the grills, you just leave it there until everything cools down and it comes right off. There's a nice removable plate that catches any larger overflow, but if you over-fill by that much, you just need to cut back

 Turns out, I needn't have worried. This is a great waffle maker.  I purposely waited until I'd used this appliance a number of times, so I could write an informed review. First, the ceramic coating is fantastic
