My overall thought is I like this little label maker. It fits me needs perfectly since I don't make labels that often, but I dislike the drain o battery power making just one label can do. Even if the batteries are duracell of energizer, it does not make a difference on how long they last. I can buy another label maker for the cost of batteries

 NO! The second one is doing the same thing! And I don't have any idea how to return this one! I like the keyboard setup better than the Dymo brand, but I can't keep throwing $20 at a time in the trash!

I bought one of these labelers in May. From the very first time I used it, it kept showing 'Low Battery' during typing, after printing, in the middle of printing, no matter how many times I put fresh batteries in. I can't even count how much label tape I've wasted because the power turned off in the beginning, middle or end of printing! Then it's turn it off and back on, cross my fingers and try to print again. I have a battery tester and my batteries are fresh! Now I bought a second one, because I don't have my receipt for the first to return it, and I figured surely I'd just gotten a bad item

Hard to peel off the backing? I have good enough luck with my pen-knife, just starting at one corner. It works better for me than that built-in separator thinggy on the unit, at least until I can figure that thing out

 I kept thinking about that. I had read in a user-review that somebody got an electronics repairman to look at his PT-70 and apparently the service-man cleaned up the ends of the batteries and the internal machine contacts with the eraser that's on the end of a wooden pencil. I kept thinking about that. When I install batteries, if I can get to the sides of them, I'll rotate them and squeeze them in and rotate them some more to try to get the best contact possible

 The tape? The quality of the label tape? Far exceeded my expectations. Pay no attention to those reviewers who gripe about the cost of the tape. Wasted tape at the ends of the newly-printed label? If you're looking for a desktop label maker that prints incredibly quickly, it's hard to top the Brother QL-800. This model prints a ridiculous 97 standard address labels per minute, so if you've got a lot of parcels to send, you will not be waiting on this machine. Brother's newest version of their P-touch software is nothing short of awesome. It has templates for all kinds of labels, including ID badges, barcodes, hobby uses, and even wine bottles. If you can't find a template you like, the software also allows you to import files or create labels from scratch. The QL-800 is postage ready &mdash; just pay for your postage online, download the file, print a sticker, and you're ready to send. One of our favorite features of this model, as opposed to similar versions, is that it automatically senses the size of label tape you have loaded into the machine. 
Unlike mobile models or hybrids, the Brother QL-800 is meant to stay in place. It needs to be connected to a computer via USB as well as an AC power source to function. It lacks a keyboard and does not offer Bluetooth connectivity, so the only way to create a label is with Brother's desktop software. Label makers works great and prints wonderfully. Easy set up and use. The program for it is simple and self explanatory. WILL NOT PRINT 4X6!! I had asked before buying if this worked with usps click n ship and was told yes

 This was especially frustrating when moving from the Black/Red labels to Black only.  Once you print successfully using these presets I would save them to make it easy in the future. Once you pass the hurdle of setting it up once then this printer is fantastic (hence the 4/5 stars).  The only other gripe I have is that sometimes the labels will get stuck if I'm printing short labels less than an inch tall

4" Black/Red or 2.4" Black only. Even if you're only printing in Black, if you're using the Black/Red tape then you need to specify the 2.4" Black/Red option

 Plus, I would never use a full sheet of labels so I was constantly having to adjust cells so that my labels lined up. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to print PayPal labels, there isn't much documentation online of people using the QL-800 for this purpose, so I rolled the dice and ordered it. Now this little machine that's smaller than a loaf of bread takes the place of my big clunky printer. No more switching out label sheets in my printer, I only have the one roll of labels to worry about and that's it!

Will work with Mac but a bit finicky

 Have older phones, which I barely use and they got now a new purpose. Printing app doesn't allow to turn text 180 degrees, so that you could print a label like for a wire to be readable in both ways. I know that the desktop version can do that. I would have to contact BROTHER if they are planning on implementing that feature in the mobile app

It is nice to have, but I wouldn't recommend it, unless you really need it, since it prints the entire label slower = if you have to print many, larger labels you would have to calculate about 40% longer time

 Still printing fast, but not as fast as just in b&w. The app has lots of nice templates (now also for COVID-19) and works very intuitive. I mainly bought this printer to label wires for computer network and it seems like the the DK-2214 labels would do a good job for that. You might use a SCOTCH-tape to protect it and keeping it on the wire, but it is a good size label for labeling wires

For mobile usage: Turn OFF 'Editor Lite' on the printer

 It does it fast, it does it well. I didn't even install the printing software, just download the driver only from Brother and it was up and running. You can easily find the correct label sizes in MS Word and Ebay has an option to print out USPS labels in the larger size label that comes with the printer. At this price it will totally pay for itself in time saved in a about a month

 And the reason I chose Brother is because I have a cheap Brother Wifi Laser Printer that has been working for years with after-market toner and it never has a problem.

Needed a printer to print out USPS labels for Ebay sales. This does just that. It does it fast, it does it well. I didn't even install the printing software, just download the driver only from Brother and it was up and running
