Brother MFC-L3770CDW vs Canon imageCLASS MF242dw

After complaining to three levels of tech support at Brother and pulling the corporate buyer card – they agreed to replace my drum kit for free. TONER CARTRIDGES DON’T LAST PRINTER WON’T PRINT UNTIL YOU REPLACE THEM According to the page counter, this printer has printed about 4700 documents in five months. We manually kept track of the before/after number in between replacing cartridges. We get about 500 black/white printouts from a high yield cartridge before it forces you to replace the toner cartridge

I don't know if the starter toner cartridge that comes with the machine has anything to do with this and if it will improve when I replace it with a full, regular cartridge. I am toying with returning it because of the light print.

Too many complaints of odd failures, random issues and wasted ink. We came across this and noticed the cheaper print cost and the generally higher level of customer satisfaction. I had experience with BROTHER branded printers at work, and we had a few BROTHER label printers, so we decided to splurge and get this more expensive option. I work from home as does my wife, and 4 of my kids are doing distance learning from home

This is a great All in One Laser Printer and an excellent value for $100. It even does duplex printing. I commend Walmart for selling it at this price point rather than jacking the price and gouging consumers like every other store that carries it.

The toner cartridge are much cleaner solution. And I suspect we'll get many more prints out of a cartridge. The quality of the plastics and controls is noticeably better than the previous HP models we've had.

However, print quality is very bad with the cartridge came in package. Print out is like less than 10% left on toner. Spent hours on quality adjust and tune. No helps

Smaller models, like the MFC-L3770CDW, are even worse (managing just 6 ppm duplex). This is a consequence of their very long duplex paper paths due to the [lack of secondary transfer

NEVER received a response from seller regarding my concerns. Contacted Canon directly who verified that the printing was in the quality range. This is not my first laser printer, but I am not satisfied/pleased with this printer, as well as the fact that no response was ever received from the seller.

That's an inch here and there larger and a few pounds heavier than the Canon model, but slightly smaller and lighter than another somewhat costlier and beefier Canon AIO, the Color imageClass MF731Cdw. HP's entry-level Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw is, on the other hand, several inches smaller in all directions and weighs about 10 pounds less than the MFC-L3770CDW.

The size of it is a bit taller than I was expecting and I had to do a bit of rearranging on my desk so be sure to check the measurements. It's pretty quiet when printing, I can make a call on my headset sitting right next to it and the other person said they could not hear it at all. The lid you open and close to make copies is substantial and not flimsy at all. Overall a good multi-function machine, I would recommend

We connect to it from our work and personal laptops, iPhones and iPads without a problem. Scanning works very easily and I can easily send out via email. We have ours setup to work via WiFi, which we love - no wires! One minor issue is that it does seem to move into pause mode on rare occasions and I need to hit the wakeup button, but generally it wakes itself just fine for any PC so I think that may be my home WiFi acting up.

Wi-fi setup was easy and straightforward. The print is crisp however, much lighter than normal. I've read another review listing the aftermarket LINKYO Compatible Toner Cartridge Replacement for Canon 137 9435B001AA remedies this. I've ordered same from amazon but, haven't installed yet

There was an issue with print jobs not starting up because the printer was in idle mode, and something was not seeming to connect. We learned that by adding the printer into our computer system through the printers IP address solved that problem. Highly recommended purchase, one of our office favorites this year !.

In addition to Wi-Fi Direct, the MF232w supports several third-party mobile connectivity options, such as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria Print Services, and Canon's own Canon Print Business. Canon Print Business helps you connect to various cloud sites and print from email. There is no support for USB thumb drives, and the MF232w cannot connect to several of the numerous popular cloud sites available, since you need the ability to work with apps to connect to some cloud sites, and that requires a graphical interface display (which the MF232w lacks).
