Breville Sous Chef 16 Pro vs Cuisinart Custom 14

I have not conducted a systematic breakdown of the reasons I think this is the best food processor I've ever had, but it is. The vast majority of my food processor use has always been the main sharp steel blade for chopping vegetables and making pastry dough. This one is better at that than any of the Cuisinarts (2, back to the ancient CFP-5 in the 70s) and KitchenAids (also 2) I've had. On top of that, the slicing ability of the Breville is absolutely vastly superior to any other food processor I've had, in particular the adjustable slicing disk

The chopping/mixing/dough blade sits too high in the 14-cup work bowl of the new model, which results in incomplete and inadequate mixing of certain foods. The s-blade of my old Cuisinart food processor rested flat in its bowl. In the new 14-cup model, for example, blending flour, butter, and milk together for a quiche crust has resulted in overly wet and lumpy mixtures that require additional adjusting outside of the mixing bowl (a problem I never had with my old Cuisinart food processor). When making salsa in the new Cuisinart, large pieces of vegetables are left unincorporated because the chopping/mixing/dough blade rests too high in the work bowl

The speed and consistency is unbelievable. With the 5.5" wide feeder, I was able to put 3 (medium) potatoes in at once and they were all sliced, perfectly, gorgeously, in the blink of an eye. Very impressive

Specifically the Cuisinart 14 cup. I make pie dough, pizza dough, pate a choux, etc. with a food processor. It makes things super quick and easy, and the Cuisinart is super quiet compared to other food processors out there

If you need high capacity, if you want chopping and slicing that is second to none, the Breville is the way to go. That said, Breville as a brand isn't as reliable as it should be. It's not just the flakyness after four years, in the second month I had it, I dropped the lid, which didn't just break, it shattered. Like many other people report, Breville did not handle spare parts availability well

We started a plant-based lifestyle and realized quickly that we needed a 14 cup capacity processor! My mom had this Cuisinart in the 80’s and used it frequently. So I knew Cuisinart was the way to go & we are happy with that decision!

It is HUGE. A great advantage is that it EASILY handles grating cheese for a large 8-serving dish of mac and cheese, processing double pie crusts, ricing a whole head of cauliflower. One serious design flaw -- and this is my main source of regret -- is the mini-chopper within the large processor. This versatility was my reason for choosing this model but the way the processor is made, it is not very functional

First, when blending some dough, it ceases up, no power to do the job. It also could not get all of the dough off of the walls of the bowl, using either the dough blade or chopping blade, so a lot of the dough just sits on the walls and does not get mixed in. Useless for dough. Then, while chopping vegetables, I could not lift the blade up and out of the inner bowl to get it out of the way to remove all of the veggies

This bad boy has some power and is sharp! Me and my wife meal prep and we use this to chop our onions and slice our carrots. It comes with everything you will need and makes cutting veggies easy. We were able to cut 4 large peppers for fajitas into thin slices in about 20 seconds. This will cut down your prep time and make your life simpler!
