 I have only used one completely before it tore up. The last one I got I did not use right away and did not know it was broken until I needed to use that size label. I have purchased 4 different labels and all but one arrived broken or loose springs (inside the cartridge) or something causing it to not print, or quit printing all of a sudden. These cartridges are not inexpensive like you find with some of the Brother or Dymo

 Good printer as long as you don't mind using twice as much tape as the characters need, and if you can get a cartridge that will work past a few labels.

 I have purchased 4 different labels and all but one arrived broken or loose springs (inside the cartridge) or something causing it to not print, or quit printing all of a sudden. These cartridges are not inexpensive like you find with some of the Brother or Dymo. For the expense of these cartridges you would expect them to stand up better. Maybe the problem is with Amazon shipping, these are not the only things that arrive damaged

 On the largest 3/4" tape, you can only have 4 lines of text, and as it can't print close to the top and bottom edge, it uses a smaller font than I would like. When dealing with panel or terminal labels, the spacing only has .1" granularity so you can't do 0.75" for example, which will make it so the labels don't line up right for a larger port count

There is a lot to like about this unit. It's sturdy, the labels are the best in the industry, it's pretty easy to do basic labels. The self-laminating wire labels are pretty neat, as the unit only handles up to 3/4 in; tape, the labels fold around the paper backing so the clear portion is on the back allowing 1.5 in; tall total size, with about 

 The sizes handle most uses though. You can only have ONE size text on a label, so you can't have a large identifier with smaller print detail under for example. On the largest 3/4" tape, you can only have 4 lines of text, and as it can't print close to the top and bottom edge, it uses a smaller font than I would like. Solid unit, interface has issues

 Had to fix the old one because this new one I bought is not good. The display has terrible viewing angles compared to the old one. The keypad is soft and each key feels like it has a different mushy feel so you don't get any physical tactile feedback when you press a button - nothing like the old one. And to top it off, they changed the text font and it doesn't look as nice with more spacing between letters and the letters are smaller and more boxy

 Paired with the M21 self-laminating labels (I chose the 1" laminating tail, but will purchase the 1.5" in the future as a longer tail is necessary for Cat7 and 14-gauge speaker cables.

 What a waste of money that was, as it was too expensive and cumbersome to deal with (lining up the software for the printer was a nightmare!). Then, I bought a P-Touch and their version of self laminating labels. They had almost no tail thus they really did "self laminate." They worked, but all of the labels were not completely adhered to the cables

 It looked sloppy. Then, I found the Brady system. It was way affordable and much, much easier to use and gave professional looking results. There are other (way) more expensive products that have similar self-laminating label makers, but the Brady printer at ~$93 is the best option

 They start pulling off as quickly as their regular labels. This item deserves a negative-star rating. I wish I had returned this labeler when I had the chance. And I wish I hadn't given my old Brother one to my sister! I will say that it holds a charge well, but given that its labels are useless, that is little comfort

 UNFORTUNATELY, its labels are a problem. They don't stick for long! I first used my BROTHER brand label maker to make light switch labels for our house over 15 years ago. Those original labels are still in place, so that is the quality I was expecting from my new Dymo label maker. However, I have found that the Dymo labels start peeling after very minimal use

Useless - update 03.16.17 - even their PERMANENT labels don't stick!

 I depressed the round, red power button on the lower lefthand side of the LCD screen, confirmed the tape size and then began typing on the Qwerty keyboard what I wanted on a label.  I like how the keys are rubberized and yet soft to the touch. I heard a slight click when the key press was engaged and it was clearly visible on the gray and black LCD screen. Pressing the blue print button to the lower right of the screen printed the label and depressing the large silver button on the righthand side of the labeler cut it off the tape

  After unwrapping and placing the rechargeable battery into the back of the labeler, I charged it with the included AC adapter for 3 hours per the instructions. I unplugged the charger and inserted the tape (what the device prints on) into the back of the labeler. I depressed the round, red power button on the lower lefthand side of the LCD screen, confirmed the tape size and then began typing on the Qwerty keyboard what I wanted on a label.  I like how the keys are rubberized and yet soft to the touch

 but it does not stick well and it only is dark enough if I select "Bold." Also, the labels do not stick will on both hard and flexible surfaces. I do not recommend this label maker. I wish that I had returned it, but the window to do so has closed
