 Full tank construction obviously, very nice, good lanyard hole back here. G10 handle scales, it is 0.17 inches thick, so a good thickness there, extremely well balanced in your hand, very, very well balanced, love it. Very good road jimping up there and weighs in at 6

 So for that price point, the value is there. For a super steel like S30V, the quality that you're getting with this Guardian 4, I would highly recommend it for the value rating of 5 out of 5 because wow, when you hold this knife you were like, come on, let's do some work. It begs to be used, it is so fun to use and in a lot of ways it's one of my favorite overall profile and design. So 5 out of 5 on the value for the Guardian 4

 You can pick them up at Blade HQ but they are about $20 more at Blade HQ so I'd recommend going over to the Bradford website, picking them up there. That comes with the leather sheath, then it's going to be about $235 if you're going to buy the Kydex sheath which I highly recommend. So for that price point, the value is there. For a super steel like S30V, the quality that you're getting with this Guardian 4, I would highly recommend it for the value rating of 5 out of 5 because wow, when you hold this knife you were like, come on, let's do some work

 We're going to test that out, some stabbing tasks with this Guardian 4 as well. So with that being said guys, let's go ahead and start looking at some of the basic specs and then we'll jump into the full field test and review on the Bradford Knives Guardian 4. Alright, the specs on this knife that we have here today are that it is a 4 inch cutting edge, Guardian 4, 4 inches, and you can get this with two different types of steel. You can either get this with the S30V, CPM S30V steel with a Rockwell 59

Bradford Knives Guardian 4 Review: Epic Utility

Tyler here with gpknives, and today we have the Bradford knives at guardian for fixed blade in CP m3v. These knives are fully flat ground, which is a first for the Guardian foreign 3v. They also feature a proprietary heat treatment from peers heat treat. These knives are Rockwell dat 61, which is a very high hardness for 3v, and they have exhibited enhanced, wear resistance as well as corrosion resistance

Bradford Knives Guardian4 Flat Ground PHT CPM 3V Fixed Blade Overview

 I might as well show you Seven and a half or so inches from the bottom of the handle to the tip of that leather sheath That's not bad on most people's frames that will hide pretty easily under t-shirts and definitely for me it hides very easily So I've been carrying that using it for a while We may address that again in a minute, but I love that knife and so again I loved the guardian for so much after they sent it to me and had been playing with it for a while that I needed To get myself a guardian 3 so I purchased that one myself from friends over played HQ So check them out, and I'll have links of course to this and that other knife down below So let's get to some of the review talk about some of the use that I put it through and how I've been using it I Did take it on my? Coyote hunt you saw that with my friend Cody Desert Defense You didn't see the knife in the video because I only use it to harvest the tail But I'll run a roll in a little bit of footage of that for those that want to see it and don't to grossed out too quickly, but Yeah, so this knife went with me on that trip nice to carry around I did I will say this that in the use that I put it through on that trip. I made the mistake of Putting that tip into the dirt as I was cutting that tail Now that actually did bend ever so slightly, but I was able to bring it back pretty easily I don't think I even had to use the belt at all use the work sharp knife and tool sharpener All I think it did was put it on my Spyderco Sharp maker just give it a few passes and brought that tip back very nicely You can really can't tell that anything happened to it at this point. It's still doing great Speaking of tip and that thing drilled away at some wood very nicely Okay, it was a very strong tip even though it seems like it will be quite delicate Their treatment of s30v is extraordinarily good Giving us giving us a nice strong tip and speaking of the edge retention This thing cuts and cuts and cuts and cuts and carves and carves and carves It just keeps going and that edge stays really sharp for a long long time. How about that right there? there's the mora bushcraft black this version coming with the hard plastic sheath the diamond sharpener on it as well as the striker so Different versions of that you can get down from like 65 down to like 45 depending on On which type you want to have and then moving down from there or roughly down from there How about this guy the gerber strong arm? This is far more sort of military targeted But for those of you who just want a nice solid outdoors knife something that will get lots of different kinds of work done And uh be pretty darn thick as well This knife is a winner at just 50 bucks 420 hc steel um and for the money again about 50 bucks or so

 They sent this knife to me over six months ago As I recall it's been a long time if you follow me on Instagram. You've been seeing pictures of this since what was it fall? 2016 yeah something like that, so I've had this knife in hand and been using it for quite a while So they were generous enough to send me this one to use with the sheath the leather sheath there as well as a really nice Kydex sheath to go with it. That's my tech lock on the back there. I believe that's mine Yeah, I'm pretty sure I put that on there Awesome kydex sheath as well, but I love this knife so much I went out and bought myself a Guardian 3 for EDC carry just love it And this is what I was talking about before This is the sort of g10 checkered pattern that they do which is really nice looking lots of leather They're stuck to the to the handle as you can tell but same you know stonewash blade finish on this one I just really like it this one with the swedge cut out on the top and that one with out So they've got a couple different varieties there And again, that's what I'm talking about when I say there's so many different skews of these Bradford knives that we could go through When we're not obviously going to do that But yeah, this one is also really cool I've been carrying this one for an everyday carry belt sheath or a belt knife in the belt sheath For a good little while now, and I just I love it man Fits in the belt so nicely

If you are looking for a fixed blade that is not going to break the bank, but that is going to last you a lifetime, that comes from very nice people, that is entirely USA made, that is thoughtfully designed, and just beautiful to look at, and great to use, the Bradford Guardian series will not do you wrong. These are $250, plus or minus. I know that that is a significant chunk of change, but I also know that much like the Nyala and the JX5, this is a knife that I'm going to have until I am well and truly too old to care anymore

 So two and a three quarter: twenty quarter, two and a half so almost identical actually to the to the delica, the blade size, but look at the handle size much much smaller. You know the delica is much more comfortable. I think that's why it's so popular, because the handle is just amazing how it fits the hand it might look ugly, but it works. It fits in the hand, i'm not a fan of the metal handles

SanRenMu SRM 710 knife review

For the price, it's hard to beat this knife. It's difficult for me to comfortably flip it open because I have large hands and this is a fairly small knife. I've used it to cut up a metric *load of corrugated boxes--ironically enough, Amazon boxes. It still seems as sharp as new

 I'm not an alchemist, so I have no idea whether or not the steel is what is claimed. But it's not cheap high carbon or stainless steel, or I would have seen a marked decrease in performance during the breakdown of my mountain of Amazon boxes. Worth the price, for a "throw it in the bugout bag" contingency.

  It's a little small for my hands. You see all those pictures next to a ruler? pay attention :) if your hands are above average sized you will likely share my problem.   It's solid, looks like it will take some heavy wear.  They copied a great design. It looks undeniably nice.  Cons: the people who are saying they just want to try it out to see if the Sebenza feels right before they pay for one, don't bother

 You will end up with a good EDC knife for the price but the feel is very different. Feels like you almost have to shake the blade loose of the handle like you're trying to get the last few drops of water out of a glass before you dry it.  It's a little small for my hands.  It won't have the raw structural strength, ability to sustain abuse, or the ability to keep a freshly whetted and stropped edge through extended work as the original knife; it also costs well over an order of magnitude less, so it's available for people who don't have 500 bones to drop on a pocket knife.  There are two legitimate sides to the argument about whether it's ethical to buy one of these - looking at it in the hand it's plain that it copies the Chris Reeve design - or any similar knife. I won't tell you which is right for you as I find people choose what to care about just fine on their own, without my help, but in this argument it seems to boil down to what you choose to care about more. For my purposes, I'm mostly concerned with one thing -- build quality

 I don't expect this to be a be all end all steel but would at least like to know what I am working with.  2: Make the pocket clip mounting holes ambidextrous. I like to carry tip up. This knife is tip down only so buyers beware if that's a big deal for you  Pretty hefty little folder! Feels solidly built, blade centering is near perfect, solid lockup with no blade play

Solid knife for the money, have a couple suggestions.

 Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value.

 My only recommendation is to loc-tite the retaining screws as they tend to fall out after a few years. That being said, the frame still holds together even with all of the lockplate screws having fallen out, which is totally wild. Blade lockup is still fantastic and the steel quality is such that it retains an admirable edge with some effort. For the money, this is one of the best knives I've owned and put it up against the Kershaw Chill for value

Solid performer

 I also believe that its comparison to the CRK Sebenza is just barely appropriate for a number of reasons I will touch on. Meanwhile, nobody seems to compare it to the Kershaw Cryo, which in some important ways is a better knife and is only $10 more in price.  First off, the blade: Personally, I LOVE the design of the blade itself. I think the blade shape is actually more useful and attractive than the Sebenza (blasphemy!) and it has excellent jimping

 The Kershaw Cryo is barely more expensive and has real 8Cr13MoV, assisted opening, looks nicer, has better jimping, and has better forward traction if you needed to stab with it. I would basically only recommend this blade for EDC, and even then only if you value size and weight over tactical considerations (as I do). Otherwise, go buy a Kershaw Cryo and feel good about the fact that Kershaw is actually paying their industrial designers.

 The material of the blade, however, is merely ok. I have reasons to doubt the authenticity of the manufacturer's claims of material (8Cr13MoV). The material is soft, wires easily, and doesn't hold an edge in any special way. Perfectly acceptable for the price, but nothing earth-shattering

 If it is a nice knife and comes somewhat dull, I sharpen it, if it is a horrible knife and comes razor sharp initially but doesn't last or other negatives overshadow that, it doesn't seem like a huge positive anymore.  If you like the design, you won't be disappointed with the look or quality, they are both very good for the price. As an edc I think it is a bit on the dainty side, much smaller than I prefer to carry, and in my mind you could make a better case for it based on looks than on it's actual uses or function/structure. I personally don't prefer to carry this knife, and honestly would not buy another one

I am glad that others have found so much love for this knife, hopefully I can find one of those people to give this one to.  It seems to me, if you are looking for a cheap knife that will see daily use, there are better options out there at a lower price

 If you are looking for a well built knife in this price range, there are other options with more useful features that haven't stolen their design (which didn't honestly bother me until I handled the knife and saw it's other weaknesses). If you are looking to carry a small knife, that won't see much use, but catches the eye and has an appealing design, this one may be for you, otherwise, I would say move on.

Overhyped but ok overall

 It's just a tad bit on the heavy side in comparison to my Spyderco Native but the clip tension is just right. I had a CRKT Drifter once and although I liked the size, the clip was horrible. It was too tight and kept messing up both jeans and slack pocket. I thought I'd first carry this everyday since I wouldn't want to lose my Spydercos and Benchmades that cost up to $50 and above

Okay, putting aside the "knockoff Sebenza" stuff and the issues of intellectual property and international patent law I'm just going to focus on the knife. This is a fantastic knife. It is compact, lightweight and sharp as all get out. Lockup is rock solid and it is a comfortable EDC knife that will work for most things you will encounter every day
