 I also like that they go up to 80lbs and replace what would have been 16 pairs of fixed dumbbells. I’ve lifted with them for 2 days now and put them through a bunch of movements. I’ve shaken them around and tried to twist the handle while undocked from the cradle, and haven’t been able to get it to disengage - I feel confident these would not fail while lifting. Like most adjustable dumbbells, you aren’t supposed to drop them, and dropping them would in fact void the warranty

My initial impressions are positive - they arrived in good condition, no scratches or dings, and unboxing and setup was straightforward. I like that they have a metal knurled handle, they have a very compact form factor - roughly the same size as their cast iron hex dumbbell counterparts. This thing is awful. I bought online and the second I opened the box and looked at this I knew this was gonna be bad.

 I ended up getting these and the stand and so far they work great but i have a few concerns. Essentially it is a mostly plastic design. We are very good to our home gym equipment, no dropping weights or throwing around but they feel like they are going to have a limited lifespan. I may be wrong but there are a fair number of reviews that stated they had problems

In addition, the other thing i don't particularly like is the wobbly nature of the plates on the dumbbells while you are working out. They do move a fair amount

 Its not a big deal but definitely different then a solid dumbbell. For the good, the grip is very comfortable and you can change them very rapidly if you are doing circuits that require you to change the weights frequently. They come in and out of the weight stack pretty easily but i tend to do it very cautiously as that seems to be one of the actions that could damage the catch mechanism if forced. About a month after i bought these I was scanning Craigslist for some other equipment and saw a pair of barely used Ironmaster Adjustable Dumbbells for sale locally

10s were NOT nicely wrapped

I bought these to replace a pair of basic cast iron dumbbells that had a really rough grip. These grips are very comfortable and have a good circumference. My hand is 7" from wrist to tip of middle finger and I have no trouble with this grip. The only reason I knocked off a star is that both of the 20 lb weights I ordered weighed in at 19
