 You can work around it by playing a 12th fret harmonic on that string, but still. Presumably, this would be the same problem with the low B string on a 5-string bass.  Otherwise, this was a good purchase and very useful. It gets the job done

I have seen many clamp on tuners but they looked like they might fall off. This one STAYS ON! Boss has a great name but the quality of this tuner is 200% better then some of the other brands.So pay more and get a better tuner and take care of it OR get a tuner that falls off,breaks or you can't see in dark rooms OR is not as accurate (+/- 1 cent)? That's why I bought the Boss.

A great chomatic tuner

 The cost of this tuner is higher than other "clip on" tuners so I'm inclined to down grade it's overall value for the money...

Very sensitive and good but only gripe is get the AC power supply as it eats batteries if you don't take them out. How this happens even when disconnected I don't know but it kills the battery leaving them in overnight. The unit is tough and it works well. Just buy 9V in bulk or get the AC adapter

Good product but eats 9V batteries.

  This Boss allows quick tuning. And I can go in and out of open G, open D etc. tunings. I like not having to stomp on the pedal to turn on the tuner, not having to worry about 9V battery to get it running
