 There are just too many changeable elements on this pedal that I just got bamboozled. All the online demo guys make it seem so simple and effortless but this stuff is second nature to them. The sounds are great as you would expect from boss but you can find yourself lost in endlessly turning dials from 0-999. Great pedal and a really compact size but if you’re anything like me and put off by parameter dials and presets and press and hold combos then I’d go for something a lot simpler

 So some of these have got like the slice as well. They've got like overdrive with it. That's a really cool thing to have so you can save that as one of your presets and just recall that if you need that kind of tone. Awesome

The Boss MD-200 Modulation Pedal | 12 Awesome Modulation Effects in One | Tone Tasting

 Hello everyone, my name is Pete and welcome back to another episode of

 Tone Tasting. I am today continuing my journey on the new 200 series from BOSS

 and this is the MD-200, so the modulation pedal. It's got all the same

 technical specifications as the other pedals. It's got the same MIDI in and out

 with the mini jacks, it's got the same USB, it's got the same two inputs and two

 output stereo and room for an expression pedal. It's got your 12 different effects

 in there, it's got your parameters on the top, it's got a rate and depth and a

 level all over. It's also got your manual setting, it's got your tap tempo if you

 hold it down there. You've got four memory presets including the manual

 ones so you kind of got five. You've got your tap division here as well, with all

 the notes how they are going on. If you hold it down and you

 use your your tap tempo then you know you can kind of do it however. You can

 see the change the tempo, you can click that down and it does it in BPMs instead.

 On and off switch and that is it really. So instead of just all this talk let's

 just see what it sounds like. So you've got on the top there the first one we

 start with is the chorus. I'm playing my Telecaster because I know how that

 sounds and I'm playing stereo today with V140 and a DP40 both from Victory

 because I know what they sound like and they sound nice. So here is the first

 chord without anything. Got a bit of reverb and here's the pedal.

 Now the parameter knobs here will of course do something different to all of

 the within the pedal that will all be on the screen because it's easy like that

 because we just want to listen to the pedal. So here is the chorus. Here's the

 Here's the flanger. I know that's not the right key but there we are.

 There's a little bit of gain from the gain, a little bit of gain from the gain,

 a little bit of gain from the gain. Next one is the phaser.

 Okay, so as you heard that it was kind of a fuss effect and before then on the

 vintage phase there was like a drive effect on there. So some of these have

 got like the slice as well. They've got like overdrive with it.

 That's a really cool thing to have so you can save that as one of your presets

 and just recall that if you need that kind of tone. Awesome. Let's move on to

 Again, tap the tempo. Let's go to tremolo.

 That's so cool, so you've got like drive here and then you've got the tempo up and down.

 Now, that's fun. I can imagine the expression pedal will probably let you do some of that.

 Anyway, keep going. That's just like such an inspirational thing to kind of, you know.

 Now, that's fun. I like that. That's like an organ kind of thing.

 Anyway, I mean, keep going on for hours and hours with this, but that's the MD200.

 Just a little bit of tasting of the tones from here. If you want to try it out, just pop into your local shop.
