This is an automated batch brewer that has everything you should look for on a well-respected and reliable coffee maker with a large shower head directly over the brew basket, automatic pre-infusion of that coffee bed with perfect steady temperatures for brewing tasty coffee, and of course a stainless steel thermal carafe. and right before we jump into brewing a batch on the Bonavita. If you haven't already done, so go ahead and click that subscribe button along with the bell icon and then this way you keep up to date all things coffee

 Now with your water tank filled and you've ground your coffee to a medium grind, we're next going to add a paper filter by first folding it, then place it in the filter holder and with a quick pre-wet of this paper filter, you can remove any papery taste within it, but it also helps stick the filter to the sides of the basket. From here, place your ground coffee into the filter basket and then add this on top of the craft by sitting it securely inside. Then slide this combo underneath the shower head and we're ready to go. One touch as you only have one button to flick on to start your brew, there is a second function, however, to this button which is able to turn on or off the automatic pre-infusion mode. pre-infusion is a great thing to have on any coffee maker, and this is where a small amount of water pre-wets the ground coffee in the basket and then it pauses for a moment prior to then the continuous flow of the water out of the water tank

How to use the Bonavita 8 Cup One Touch Coffee Maker

 On this model (8 cup), the carafe (with the lid screwed on) won't sit on the maker under the filter basket. There's no hot plate so that shouldn't matter. You can just leave the filter "basket" in place until you're ready for the final clean-up, and set the carafe to the side.  I honestly can't say that our morning coffee now suddenly better (such things are, of course, somewhat subjective

 Will I buy this again. Probably not. Bottom line, the coffee this makes isn't notably better than less expensive coffee makers. We will likely go back to less expensive coffee makers and replace them more frequently

 I know there are coffee makers with lots of bells and whistles that are WAY more expensive than this one, but compared to the average coffee maker "out there," this is pricey! The coffee it makes, while fine, is not (IMO) notably better than less expensive machines.

 So expect a puddle on the carafe holder unless you let the carafe sit longer before removing and placing the cap on, which somewhat negates the desired effect of keeping your coffee hot, sealed nicely in a stainless carafe.  First review below:  I must state upfront that I'm not a coffee "connoisseur." If you are, you probably shouldn't read this because you'll likely disagree.  For all my adult life I'd imagined that a coffee maker didn't necessarily need to be expensive to make reasonably good coffee

[music] It's been a good three years since the Bonavita Bv1800 Ts1 our Editors Choice award. We loved it for its comparatively low price and the outstandingly delicious pots of drip it made. Now Bonavita has a follow-up brewer it calls The Connoisseur. It has the same $190 price tag as its predecessor Bonavita Also tweaked this new model to perform a little better and be a little easier to use

 It's also fairly flimsy but it's also very cheap for an SCAA certified coffee pot so you can't be too upset. And it performs as well or better than pretty much anything else on the list without a ton of useless features.  Overall, I'm very happy with it and I believe it's the best value on the market. If you want programmable, why buy an expensive coffee maker to drink stale coffee? That's mostly all you're paying for above the Bonavita until you get to the Moccamaster which is a tank but costs 3x more

As pretty much all reviews will tell you, this thing makes a very good very consistent cup of coffee

 I also tested with my default whole bean coffee sourced from Costco (Kirkland Colombian Supremo).The $299 Technivorm Moccamaster KBT 741 filled its carafes in a faster 5 minutes, 45 seconds. Likewise the Bonavita BV1900TS required just 6 minutes or less to run through its brewing cycle. The Connoisseur's brewing time is much shorter than the 8 minutes or less the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) recommends for excellent drip

 I logged 3 hours and 31 minutes before coffee inside the pitcher dropped below 150 degrees Fahrenheit (66 Celsius). Still, it's a slightly shorter run than the 1900 which hung on to its heat longer (almost 4 hours). The thermal carafe king though remains the Moccamaster (6 hours).A brewer that's worth buyingWhen you break it all down, the new Bonavita Connoisseur is a great buy for all the reasons the 1900TS was

 The older brewer balanced its filter basket precariously in place on top of the carafe. The new suspended basket also lets you brew into your own containers like mugs and travel cups if you'd like.Just press one buttonBonavita resisted the urge to add extra complexity to this new model. Filling the Connoisseur's tank is a snap

 Now Bonavita has a follow up brewer it calls the Connoisseur. Snobby name aside, the coffee maker has the same reasonable $190 (converts to £140, AU$245) price tag as its predecessor. Bonavita tweaked this new model, too. The result, the Connoisseur makes coffee every bit as delicious plus easier to use

 Some may not like that look though, that's why mentioning it. The front controls are ok, kind of lacking though. The display seems nice now, though other brands have used displays like this and they fade on brightness over time.

 I do have to say that I’ve placed the coffee pot in an open area without cabinets, because I didn’t like the way it looked pushed out to clear the water reservoir door from the bottom cabinet. Best decision ever! The programming features are easy to use. Now to the brewing process.
