The Muck Boot Arctic Sport II Mid is quite an adventurous boot and fully adequate for winter conditions. The 5mm neoprene is also fleece-lined, altogether creating insulation that is rated for temperatures well into the negatives! While we didn't experience such extreme conditions, we felt no difference between standing in the snow, the icy river, or on dry land. Our feet were toasty no matter what. Traction is also a strong quality of this model, offering some of the best across a variety of technical terrain.
With a flood height of 11 inches, the shaft provides fairly average protection but not as extensive as taller models &#40;though this model does come in a Tall&#41;. And since it is so specialized, it is basically a winter boot, which doesn't help you much if you're looking for a more traditional, casual slogger.  After about 30 minutes of shoveling my driveway, walking in the snow and riding four wheeler for a few minutes my toes were noticeably cold. I was wearing fuzzy socks which don’t provide much warmth, so I’ll be ordering some wool socks. So far I am as I’m writing this inside my toes are hurting while warming up so they definitely got very cold within 30 minutes. As for fit, they fit ok in the foot part

 They are fairly comfy other than a bit small. I read so many reviews saying they ran big so order a size down. I wear a 7.5-8 & my other 2 pairs of muck boots are on the large size so I'm a little bummed that these are a bit tight

 Not tragic.  I wear a size 8, and even though some reviews said to go bigger, I opted for my normal size. They fit great and I don't foresee a problem wearing 2 pairs of socks with them. It is a challenge though getting those suckers off! There is a bit of a tug of war battle in removing them
