Bodum Caffettiera vs Salton Jumbo Java FC1667

Bodum is the worst company for anything coffee related, used to be premium back in the day, now its all plastic garbage, no support, the bistro grinder is the worst purchase I have ever made.

Coffee, which had an auto-shutoff and made good coffee. The clock was tricky to set, and the time was off by 17 minutes per day, which made the brew timer feature useless. This was especially annoying because the LEDs in the clock were blindingly bright, and never showed the correct time. But it was 'good enough' until a household accident killed it

You can't use boiling water in this per directions, so my coffee was lukewarm after all of the waiting and ground fishing. The coffee itself is the same coarse grind I make daily and this press created a bitter cup of coffee with a lot of sediment. This only gets 2 stars for possibly being of use for a blah cup of coffee if I camp.

Makes a big pot of scalding hot brew, strong but not bitter, and all the subtle notes perfectly discernible. Its basket, which forces coffee to pool and go through the sides after hot water fires out of a compact central shower seems to be the ticket. We added a paper filter to the basket to slow that even further, and the result is a cup to rival the 4 minute pour-through at your swankiest local shop! Yummy. Cheap

So if you like your coffee black add more stars, and the lighter you like your coffee the less you will like this Salton coffee maker.

Making coffee is such a delight now. Goodbye boring coffee pot. Hello french press and electric kettle!

Otherwise, we brew coffee, then shut it down. Let's be clear, this is a budget coffee maker. I would probably not use this for my home, but it can certainly be used in that application. It's a bare bones coffee make with basic functionality and cheap parts

this is definitely an intro level press, but i bought for replacement parts because it was cheaper! black strainer is plastic, FYI. mugs are good quality.
