 Unfortunately, after 7 years of wear a crack opened on the bottom of the soles and they started leaking badly. Now that I live in the Pacific Northwest, I wanted a pair of waterproof boots that are comfortable enough for daily wear throughout the rainy season.  When I initially ordered these 560's I was a little bit concerned that the thinsulate lining and sheepskin insoles would be too hot when wearing indoors. I bought a sturdy pair of Red Wing boots that have ankle support, steel toe, and steel shank. Got them for about $175 on a holiday sale in 2016, bought the leather treatment/sealer with them for about another $15.

In several months I'll be looking at a slightly higher income than I've had previously. So far I've only been able to buy cheap products. I'm hoping to start a collection of items that have a lot of utility and last a long time. I.e. stuff that is worth spending the extra cash on because it'll last you many years and, ultimately, save you money over buying cheap stuff.

This is what I have so far: 

* Pots and pans
* Winter coats 
* Boots
* Vacuum cleaner 

Any suggestions of what to add? 

General and specific (e.g. specific brands or products) recommendations would be great.

They're so comfy it's like walking on clouds, which is necessary because I can easily hit 20 flights of stairs every weekday.

Budget: trying to stay under $200 if possible, but will extend a bit for the right shoes

Location: USA - city that gets rainy, snowy, cold, and icy in the winter

Preferences: resoleable (does not need to be goodyear welt), comfortable, water-resistant, grippy soles, fashionable if possible

[Request] Resoleable, comfortable women's shoes that can handle a lot of stairs

I found these on sale at Bass Pro Shop one day and decided to go for it since I liked how they looked and I had heard good things about Red Wing/Irish Setter. At the time I didn't realize that the Irish Setter brand was made overseas, and I'm not sure if that would've impacted my purchase or not. I got another pair of Red Wing heritage boots a couple weeks after buying these so that I could alternate between the two pairs throughout the week, so they would each have a day to rest.
