I do really like the way that it mounts with the fact that it has multiple adjustments So that your front facing rear facing as well as its ability to pivot on your windshield To get it exactly at that angle that you and I want so that these cameras can see Where they need to see I think that's really good This mount here just so you guys can see it this mount here You just kind of slide it so you kind of just kick it and you pull it backwards and it pops off suction cup mount Which is what I use same idea You just there's a little like notch right here and that notch just fits in it only goes one way So make sure the notch is closest to the hole and then it slides over and it clicks into place Super simple. I use the suction cup again because I wanted to be able to take it off All right, guys, hopefully the video samples speak for themselves

 It's Shooting in words shooting at you Kind of kind of nice for a couple things great for someone that is actually like a lift or an uber driver Or a taxi driver or whatever because you can record what's happening in your car. That's fantastic it's also important too because Rear cameras the ones that you would put in the back like on your license plate Can be a little bit of a pain to install like they they're not that easy For anybody that's not mechanically inclined having something in the car that still shoots backwards Even though we may not be able to get things like license plates We can at least still have proof that something happened behind us which is good for those of us that just kind of like it for Recording what's going on in the cabin of the car also good question is what's the quality like? Well, we're gonna take a look at that after we unbox that which is happening right now Now Okay, so here it is this is the blue sky B2w dual lens dashcam blah blah blah blah blah infrared night vision 1080p look at that though 32gig up to 400 gigs SD card that's crazy and uses a Sony starvis sensor I don't even know what that means if you do that's awesome one up for you guys a whole bunch of things here You guys can read if you so choose I'll put a link to this in the description So you guys can go read it if you'd like to but that's kind of what the camera looks like I mean go through some of these images dual lens super night vision 132 degrees in total which is awesome. Oh, actually, what does it say easy horizontal adjustment? That's good because a lot of them, you know, they set that you got to kind of read adjust the mountain stuff So that'd be interesting to see Wi-Fi and app playback cool. So it has an app That's excellent and two car mounts for your selection also really good

Im not looking for a rear view camera as I believe a cabin view would be good enough with how small my car is, Supra MKV.

There are so many options out there and I want to avoid buying the wrong camera for what I am looking for or over paying for something that won't trigger in a dark area.

Looking for the best parking mode night time dash cam

 Seemed to be a better value over vantrue n2. Video quality is good. I needed night vision and that quality is acceptable. My problem is that the support for this item is not good

Good overall but there are some issues.

 I tried several ways to insert that damn card and I'd get a warning with an Asian (very annoying) woman's voice saying "insert memory card." It didn't matter how many times I inserted the card, it wouldn't stop talking! So, I had one of my sons put it in for me cause he knows more about this stuff than I do. Same thing happened to him. Not only does the warning voice keeps talking, but a 'error memory card' warning comes on the viewing screen that won't go away

 I am so disappointed in this dashcam. I expected a better quality camera that was easy to set up with a viewing screen large enough to actually see what's going on in front of me as well as in back of me. I also didn't like the instructions to this camera. It said to format the memory card

 The reason I bought this particular camera is that Uber highly recommended it for their drivers and it said it came with a memory card. I didn't want to have to spend all this money on a dashcam and then turn around and spend another $30-50 dollars on a memory card. I am so disappointed in this dashcam. I expected a better quality camera that was easy to set up with a viewing screen large enough to actually see what's going on in front of me as well as in back of me

 The technical specs are promising, processor is Novatec 9660 which is used with many great action cams from a couple of years ago. The image sensors are both Sony, the 2 megapixel IMX 307 which is known for large pixel size and good low light performance, there's an optional GPS, 2 inch display, G sensor based parking mode and WiFi. Not a view of the lenses is 132 degrees horizontally, so far on paper this all sounds great. Let's carry on with the installation and the preparation for the continuous usage, easiest way to mount is to stick to the windshield, you can use one of the screen folios which will make a possible adjustment or removal afterwards much simpler, you know that double sided tape is not easy to get removed from glass

 The video quality is well balanced, sharp and detailed, surprisingly good values the total bitrate can reach up to 24 megabits for both modules, which you can split between the front and the rear one, either equally or give precedence to the front module, up to 16 megabit which is 30-40% more than an average dash cam at this class and the detail amount is greater, objects are well visible even at a distance and you have no problems seeing the car plates under most light conditions, because of the good image sensor choice the low light performance is also at a decent level. All that is recorded at 1080p, 30 frames per second, but if you disable the rear module you can count on up to 60 frames per second as well. If we get a closer look at the secondary camera which records the car interior, we can share similar thoughts, it's actually quite good and capable of giving you plenty of details, guess these devices may be a booster to vloggers that prefer to talk to their audience while waiting in traffic jams, who knows, during the night you will watch black and white videos with possibility for enabling the special IR cut filter that can help for improving the image and reduce the distortions which are caused by the infrared, daytime videos are recorded with normal colors, parking mode is there too and it is a convenient way to know that surveillance will be there when you are not around the car. With a note though, the B2W needs a few seconds to wake up from sleep, should the G sensor get triggered which means that it might actually miss the whole accident

Because both cameras are on the main body there only is one power cable that you need to take care of, find a convenient way from the sega lighter to the main unit and make sure to hide the cable, there's a pry tool to help you with that if needed. The B2W model may be ordered with optional GPS module which has a stereo plug like connector and is one more wire to place, the better visibility to the sky the quicker the GPS is going to lock, I've sticked mine at the upper side of the windshield and it sometimes locks signal within just 5 to 10 seconds

 Resolution. The Dash Cam is 1080p resolution. It's not a 4K model. I've never tested a 4K model but based on price and what I thought might be my needs in other reviews, I purchased the Dash Cam Mini 2 even though it was a 1080p

 So let's set the stage before I get into the performance of the various aspects of this Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2. First thing I think of importance, I installed it in my Toyota Tacoma TRD off-road pickup truck. It's important because the off-road truck is in fact just that. It's an off-road vehicle

 It has Bilstein's suspension and I can assure you whether you're driving up and down through the undulations through the forest up at the cabin or you're down on a highway road here, you feel every single bump. You'll see why that's important shortly. The second thing of importance is that the truck has never seen the inside of a garage. It sits outside 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

 You know, i've used different dash cams and you don't have to create an account But you know on the on the plus side You know Garmin does include something called Garmin vault, which is sort of their cloud-based You know storage solution for your saved videos, so just going into the photos and videos stored on the camera, you know, like I said earlier You know you do have a saving feature on the camera So if it detects a collision, you know, such as this this one on the middle top row here You know with that little car icon and the caution icon there If it detects collision, it's actually going to move the camera around If it detects collision, it's actually going to move it, you know into a part of the sd card that's allocated for You know retention So the temporary bucket down here of videos, you know, once the memory card is full it's going to start deleting You know videos from oldest to newest Except everything in your saved bucket are going to stay indefinitely The rest of the features of this app, you know, you have to take a picture and save video You know the save video button does exactly You know it performs the same function as that save video button on the front of the dashcam So this is just some footage I exported from the dashcam and it's actually picking up some of the podcasts I was listening to Overall, I can't complain the quality is pretty good. They're actually considerably cheaper But you know what? I really was looking to get out of the garmin dashcam. Mini 2 is just a really clean setup You know, these guys they're really good cameras You know, they're just aesthetically not pleasing You know and the garmin dashcam mini 2 really, you know I don't think it gets any simpler than this, especially with the dongar technology's dashcam adapter You know, I think you're getting a really solid setup. It's simple to use I mean, you know, there's no screen on the back of the garmin dashcam mini 2 like you do get in most dashcams But honestly, I don't think you need one You know, the garmin app is really good You know if you needed to use it in a fly, you know Say you were in an accident and you wanted to show something to the police I think it has you covered

 Of course, that thing's pretty small It's about the size of a key fob You get two USB cables both have 90 degree plugs One seems actually a lot longer than the other you get your classic 12 volt to USB adapter And you get a spare mount in it So I'm actually going to be installing this dash cam using a Dongar Technologies dash cam power adapter and so basically what that is is this little guy and rather than Having to plug this thing into your cigarette lighter your cigarette lighter port and then having to run this cable dangling to your dash cam Basically what this adapter does is allow you to power your dash cam using your auto dimming mirror. So Most vehicles now have a auto dimming rear view mirror with power running to it So the Dongar Technologies adapter it basically plugs into the back of your mirror Your vehicle electrical harness plugs into the back of the Dongar Technologies adapter And then you get a convenient power source right there behind your mirror So to install the Dongar Technologies power adapter make sure the car is off of course then Unplug your rear view mirror There's a little push tab there that you can push down on Insert the Dongar Technologies adapter and Then plug your vehicle electrical harness back in So installing the Garmin dash cam mini 2 is pretty simple you know it comes on a little swivel mount there and It has a piece of adhesive Material there, so simply remove the protective plastic And mount it I'm just gonna go ahead and stick it right here And I like it there because it's not in the way of the driving of your driving But you know you can kind of look at it if you kind of just duck away and under from your mirror next I'm going to install the micro SD card. I've chosen a SanDisk Ultra Plus 32 gigabyte And that actually installs backwards here And it clicks right in So this is what it looks like with the dash cam connected to the Dongar Technologies power adapter So I simply have the included USB cable going from the dash cam power adapter to the Garmin dash cam mini 2 So moment of truth all we have to do is turn the vehicle on And as you see there the dash cam powered right up and if we turn the car off So it is the dash cam, so pretty straightforward So operation is super simple I'm going to turn the car on and then as soon as you see a red light That means that the Garmin dash cam mini 2 is recording So there's actually only two buttons the one on the left is actually to disable the microphone So it's off now, and then I can turn it back on I'm not sure what the use case is for there But you know if you want to turn off your audio recording you can do so there The one on the front, it sort of has that universal save icon, you know a floppy disk So basically what that is if you press that it's actually going to retain the current video So it's not going to be overwritten when the memory card gets full So you could hit that if you see something on the road that you just have to record Or if there's an accident or whatnot The camera also has some sort of built-in collision detection So basically if it senses a collision or an accident It's actually going to have the same effect as if you press that button on the front there So it's going to save that video and you can actually test that just by tapping the camera Sort of you know it detects You know a big movement and then it records that there So if you can't be bothered with the two buttons, you can actually perform the same functions using voice controls such as okay Garmin Save video You can also turn the microphone on and off such as okay Garmin turn off audio Okay Garmin record audio And there you I just turned the audio recording off and on pretty nifty So I wanted to go ahead and show you guys the Garmin drive app And it's actually the app used to control their various GPS navigation systems and their different dash cams So i've already paired the dash cam mini 2 to Garmin drive It's pretty straightforward note that you do have to have a Garmin account in order to Connect your dash cam mini 2 so keep that in mind. You know, if you're going to install this dash cam You're going to want to make that Garmin account This is sort of unfortunate

 I like how easy it is to transfer videos You know, it's not the highest resolution camera. You know, it does max out at 1080p at 30 frames per second And you know, you can get 4k cameras all day long For probably about half the price, you know, they are no name But you know overall I would recommend the garmin dashcam mini 2 if you're looking for a nice clean setup And I would also recommend the dongar technology's dashcam power adapter And you know, I'll have the links in the description below And if you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment.  So when you get the mini you're going to get of course your mini your two power supplies your cigarette lighter style plug with that extra usb port and then you're going to get two of the stick-on mounts and then you're going to of course get your your quick start guide the the mini is definitely checks a lot of boxes as far as a it's it is the most economical of the Garmin cameras and as it relates to just its stature it is the smallest of them all as well.  Now again you can manually go in and save whatever footage you want but in a stressful situation like that it's kind of nice to know that that G sensor will identify that and actually lock that footage down for you. The camera resolution on the Mini is 1080p so it is high definition and it records at 30 frames per second so very respectable numbers there and it's got a 140 degree viewing angle so nice generous viewing angle and again you will be recording in HD as well. The lineup of Garmin cameras whether it's this one or the other cameras they can sync up up to four different Garmin cameras and so if you wanted one out the front maybe one out the back or maybe just from a security standpoint an RV you want one out the side window while you're somewhere it can basically link all those together to where whenever you go back and look at that footage that it they're they're basically in sync and on the right time with each other. The Mini works with the Garmin drive app and so this is going to be a great feature with this unit because when you download that drive app onto your phone you can now from that drive app see the footage out of this again this does not have a screen on it but when you have the drive app and Bluetooth to this that your phone actually becomes your your screen so also with that drive app you can you know change settings and different things like that

 This is on a ball joint so that no matter what angle your windshield is you'll always be able to get a nice straight shot. You get two of these mounting options and basically it connects on the ball joint. So basically you're just going to connect this to your windshield with the sticky pad and then you would just simply then just pop the camera onto the ball joint. The dash cam mini 2 just weighs just a little bit over an ounce

 There really isn't a better one out there!  ***************************  All that said, if you want really good video quality that records in loops, and don't mind dealing with a finicky app, or removing the memory card when you want to access the videos, go with a Rexxing.  If you're looking for a fantastic user experience on the camera and the software/app, some safe driving features, and your speed stamped on your videos, go with the Garmin!

 For over $200, I was expecting a little better from this camera. I bought it because of the brand, but my old 4k Rexxing was better BY A MILE. I changed to the Garmin though because of the constant issues with the app and the camera working / connecting to my phone. I have downloaded videos from this device, and reading license plates is virtually impossible, unless the car directly in front of you is stopped at a red light

There really isn't a better one out there!  ***************************  All that said, if you want really good video quality that records in loops, and don't mind dealing with a finicky app, or removing the memory card when you want to access the videos, go with a Rexxing.  If you're looking for a fantastic user experience on the camera and the software/app, some safe driving features, and your speed stamped on your videos, go with the Garmin!

 2021); the card is a brand-new, freshly-formatted, high-end Sandisk Endurance Max 256 GB, which is stated to be compatible with their cameras; the same type of card has no problems in the 57 • The polarized filters provide little improvement with glare issues • The suction cup mount is not compatible with the angle of the Mini 2 • And if the above weren’t enough, they decided to raise the prices $20 (inflation/profit opportunity?—you guess)  Dash Cam Mini 2 is unreliable at best and a waste of money at worst. Just look at the other negative reviews for the Garmin Dash Cameras combined listing on Amazon and note how many are for Mini 2 purchases (most). The only reason why I would recommend the 57 (and only the 57) is that the image is acceptable and non-fishbowl, the Vault functionality is optional, and Garmin’s app and policies appear more trustworthy than the import camera apps and policies. I might get a second at Garmin’s new ripoff pricing to have a rear camera that—you know—works… at times

 I was hoping to avoid the bulk of another 57, but I suspect I will be making that exchange soon.  —  I have a Dash Cam 57 for a front camera and a Mini 2 for the rear camera, which I am returning:  • 57 video quality is acceptable (can somewhat make out plates that are within a car length) • Mini 2 quality is less acceptable (unlikely to get a plate number unless placed at the bumper) • Either are better than the 67W (wide/fisheye), which makes everything seem far away—distorting distances for incident purposes—and makes identifying a plate nearly impossible at the resolution of the camera • Voice controls work well as long as you are within 3 feet and not in a downpour/on the highway/playing music/etc.; otherwise, expect to shout • Though their marketing and app would lead one to believe that there is some coordination across the up-to 4 supported cameras in “Drive”, there is no support beyond the export of picture-in-picture video—if both happened to be within earshot of you using the activation (“Garmin”/“Dash Cam”) and “Save Video” commands; otherwise you have to have a large enough memory card and hope you can go back in history to retrieve the individual camera recordings (spotty at best—many are unretrievable via the application despite showing in the history list, though they can normally be recovered using a computer) • The incident detection works [mostly], but otherwise you have to be within reach of the camera to press the record button, within earshot (as mentioned), or using the app, but this often does not connect and requires repairing, which isn’t going to happen driving down the road • This means that a camera in the back of a truck or large SUV will not work well except for incident detection (sudden deceleration/bump) or if retrieving from history (if able to) • Bluetooth connectivity (for settings) is reliable on iOS 15; WiFi (for video retrieval/live view) is completely unreliable and requires ridiculousness to work (only works on a fresh boot of the phone, after clearing pairings, and shortly after booting the cameras); did not test WiFi hotspot (for video upload) • Both caneras are the current generation so they have Garmin’s vault support, though that offering seems to provide little value—at least for my use case—and at a reasonably high cost for very short-term cloud storage; vault usage is not mandatory • Parking guard is mostly useless (with constant power from OBD2 or another 12V source) because it only detects when someone smacks into your car (low sensitivity=virtually no detections; high sensitivity=false positives and a memory card that gets filled up); if you opt for splicing/piggybacking in the parking cable, it adds a motion detector that will quickly fill your memory card (no incident recording at that point) if there is actually any volume of movement around (it is an old school/non-computer vision based solution and very inefficient) • The OBD2 power solution is decent and has settings (a physical switch) to keep the camera on for 10 minutes, 24 hours, or indefinitely after shutting off the vehicle—down to the preset low voltage level; however, the power state can get out of sync (e.g

 Now, I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't mention one critical accessory that you definitely should get for your dash camera. It doesn't matter if it's this dash camera or any dash camera, and that is a polarizing filter. Now, this is the Garmin polarizing filter, and it will fit any of Garmin's dash cameras, not just the Mini and Mini 2, but any of their dash cameras. It's about 20 bucks online

 I don't know why the Wi-Fi connection is so slow, but it is what it is. You can see that this little clip, you know, at the rate it's going, we're going to be here for a really, really, really long time. I'm still at 1%, and this was, you know, a 10-minute clip. So ideally, you'll pop the SD card, take it to your computer, and just do it that way

 It does not have a screen because, let's be honest, dash cameras do not need screens. You only need a screen on a dash camera if you're an Uber driver and you want something obnoxious in your car that your passengers will see so that they know that they're being recorded. But if you're just a normal person driving around, there's absolutely no need whatsoever for a screen. Additionally, this camera does not have GPS, which means it does not track your speed, and that's fine with me

 I hope it didn't breakdown prematurely. This is my BIGGEST concern. I touch it while driving in the noon, it is burning hot, can hold it for more than 3secs. This don't look very good to me

 Alternatively, you can trim it but you have to know when it happen. which means scroll thru the whole clips.  I also noticed that if you use Class 10 microSD ,the clips are fragmented into several clips instead of a contiguous clips and I also noticed on one occasion there was missing frames of about 1 minutes when these clips are fragmented. However if if you use U1 microSD , the clips are more stable in one contiguous clips

wifi take some time to connect & 3M tape not so good for view adjustment, etc

 And also, the mount was really well-designed. So, most dash cameras, you know, you plug your power into the side of the dash camera, you put it on some kind of a mount that's either a suction cup mount or some kind of a sliding, clicking mount, or in the case of my Garmin Mini, it's a ball joint thing. But the way they did it here is that the power cable actually connects to the mount itself up here. You don't have to plug it directly into your camera

 You're going to want to have it professionally installed. People always ask me, where do I get my dash cameras professionally installed? There are numerous places anywhere you go. Any car stereo installer, things like that. But I have lately been taking my cars to Best Buy because at Best Buy, they have absolutely the best price on doing radar detector and dash camera installs

 It was kind of like unpacking an iPhone. It was that level of quality in the packaging. But the dash camera itself is a very well-built piece of hardware. I mean, it just feels like a quality piece of equipment right here

 This is a more feature-filled dash camera. It is a fantastically designed and built dash camera, but parking mode doesn't work. Anyway, let me know what you think. I'm curious to hear your opinions on this
