Blue Sky Sea has invested in their overseas support, there's a physical office in the United States, and they can also take warranty returns in the United Kingdom. Add in their interaction with the Dashcam Talk community, and this gives us a big confidence boost in recommending the B1W compared to other Chinese brands. So that's the end of this review, we hope you liked it

 In our previous picks, the camera would not be able to warn drivers when it wasn't recording. We read many comments where drivers only found out once they got into an accident, yikes. As all cards eventually stop working, the B1W gives much better protection versus our previous choices. Looking at video quality, we found a slight reduction in details compared to our former picks

 These notifications are in accented English, but it's mostly understandable. We're hoping this improves, as Blue Sky Sea has done a good job of taking feedback and making improvements to the firmware. One example is how quickly they fixed the firmware to detect failed SD cards. I have 4 broken cards, and only 2 would trigger a warning message

 We found a 3 minute file takes 3 minutes to download. Once setup was finished, we looked at how the B1W performs day to day. While driving, if you see something interesting or get into an accident, we found it was easy to lock the file from being overwritten by hitting the large lock button on the side of the camera. It also uses spoken status alerts, which lets you know when your camera is recording

 The cable seems to be long enough, and although recommended to be the chosen one, I've been using my current wiring without troubles. The adhesive tapes are also available in the packaging. We now focus on the camera itself. It is relatively small, looks good and doesn't attract your attention on it too much

 As for sound quality, although there are a lot of remarks in the forums, it is alright in my opinion, maybe too much gain, but I can easily rate this microphone better than most of the action cameras I'm reviewing on this channel. BlueskySea B1W Dashcam Review - a discreet budget champion!

 I looked through the most recent footage and of course, the only thing that was recorded in my most recent drive was the footage taken when I was trying to connect it to wifi. The footage from the day before was there but it just skipped today's drive up until the moment I tried to connect to it. Maybe I had bad luck but if the dash cam skips moments to record, it is not reliable and therefore is useless as a dash cam.

 Got a 90 degree L-shaped cable. We got some accessories here, some extra adhesives, a small little installation tool. Let me open this up. This is typically for removing trim or helping you get your wires up in your headboard

 If you want to turn off the time marks or whatever else. So there's no special features like sharing to social media. There's no advanced features like Black View Cloud, but again, this is a $55 camera, and it is probably my most recommended camera at this price point, or I should say the cheapest camera I would personally recommend to people. And, you know, now that I was able to review it, I don't regret putting it on my top 10 list recently, because I think, again, for this price point, you are getting a lot

 These little cable clips, I normally don't use these. I have them on the back of my car, but you can use those adhesives to stick this somewhere along your car and keep the cable tucked in there, so that way the cable doesn't hang down or anything. We got a couple extra adhesives here. Let's double check the camera

 It was surprisingly not bad though. There's definitely some cameras out there that have poor night quality, and I thought this one was decent. It's definitely pretty much with any camera going to take a hit in quality during nighttime, but I would say, again, for this price point, I was pretty happy with this. Now, it is winter here in Minnesota, so I do have snow to deal with, so that's going to affect the exposure levels of my video, but that's just life for me

 It will spin round and round. So that's quite handy. You could, should you wish, have it pointed back inside the car to film what's going on in there. On the one hand there's the power input, the micro USB and also the slot for the micro SD card which can be up to 64GB

 So I'm going to put the memory card in first, then we'll plug the power in. The power will automatically fire up it to record it. If it's got a SD card, it does make a little announcement, say SD card found, recording or something like that and then you see the green lights will flash. So then we connect it with WiFi, a fairly standard dashcam password of 123

 Is it the best dashcam you can buy for £50? Now I can't be sure because I've not tested that many dashcams for £50 but to me it seems like a really good buy for £50. You know if you're just looking to spend a small amount of money to give yourself that little peace of mind that you know that things are being recorded, I think it's not a bad option. I mean at £50 you can get one for the front and one for the back. That seems like a really good buy to me

I like the garmin tandem for its 1440p and 30fps with super capacitor however I don’t need or want dual facing since I don’t need in cab video.  Well, since it's hard wired with a parking mode cable, that is a little easier said than done.  I really wish I had gone with one of the Chinese brands instead of this one. Garmin is a well-known and respected brand that you would expect to make a high-quality and solid product. They really should be ashamed to release a product this bad

 Anyway all good as far that goes. Using the app is simple, and it worked perfectly so far. Nice to be able to view an event directly on your phone without having to remove the card , Wifi, or even take the camera from the dash- like some dashbcams that are adhesive mounted, what good is the screen them?? Anyway also like the very compact size. A bit pricey, but I haven't any others with the Bluetooth feature

Got the app and paired it to the phone. Have to do that in the car apparently, not just plugged to the computer. Anyway all good as far that goes. Using the app is simple, and it worked perfectly so far

Great camera

Over $300 camera, without a rear camera (even though you are able to add cameras through the app), not even a tool to push your wires through the panels like any other cheaper cameras out there, only 720P resolution for the inside, which my $200 cheaper VAVA 2K has 1080P, lousy Wi-Fi, keeps going in and out, asking you to join every minute – RIDICULOUS, not even a booklet for BASIC INSTRUCTION how to operate the camera – UNBELIEVABLE, that every other electronic device/dashcam out there gives you even if you need to update it later on (that's what they claim as an excuse, so what?!). Easy to use and easy to install, and even Great Idea for the future of dash cams, but way too GREEDY AND OVERPRICED dashcam, definitely NOT RECOMMENDED for this CRAZY PRICE.

 But file size can become to large, and this app can't deal with large files. There is an option to "trim" the video files to a shorter length. So far I find 5 minutes is the max.  I could however, download those bigger files by connecting directly to the computer

 -The instructions are very scant and not well centralized. The supplied pamphlet is very lacking, even the colors are wrong(for various cam modes). I find answers in different places too, that is just dumb and can be corrected. -the PIP position for exported videos needs to be a hard set option, not every time

  My first impression was on how tiny this unit is. All the better for windshield placement. I put it just under the rear view mirror. The magnetic mount was one of my buying decisions, having previous experience with the rubber suction type mounts

 It has the voice and save button right there on the little camera which my last cam didn't have at all and its a veryyyy essential feature to record key events quickly. I only had for 1 day and its exactly what I wanted, I will update review if anything comes up.  **edit**  This dash cam quality is too low! It cannot pick up plates unless your not moving and right behind the other driver. It works well with the interior and exterior camera views as well as audio but the quality just doesn't make up for it

 If it cannot, the live view won't work for you (since bluetooth can't stream that much data) and you might not be able to update as well. Not sure if it works on iPhone but I previously had a iPhone 6S which always had wifi direct working.  If you run a hotspot on your phone wifi direct will also be disabled, I use it on a wifi tablet which gets the hotspot signal from my main phone so that WILL work. Wifi has to be on for wifi direct to work

 This one records the front and back and takes the old school microUSB (sadly not USB-C). It comes w/ a 16gig microSD card (ADATA) which I replaced for my microcenter 32gig card and the app works well.  Now here's the tricky part since I seen some bad reviews. The camera connects to your Android device using bluetooth yes, but to it work fully with the app you need WIFI-Direct

 Its less than 480P quality, better off getting something else. Its way too expensive for such low quality video. Very disappointed. Far away shots and moving shots, it just doesn't do it! I say this because it had trouble picking up plates of someone who caused an accident

  The real problem is that i've noticed the camera turning off and getting hot while being used. Avg temperatures are mid 80s where i live, which I admit is a bit on the hot side, but i have ceramic G5 tinted windows that block 85% of heat, and in my opinion, i don't think those are extreme conditions by any means.
