The Blizzard Zero G 105 is the best heavy-ish all-around backcountry ski we have used in recent years. It does everything very well, especially considering its weight. At 1500 grams, there are many lighter options on the market, but the ones we've tested ski more poorly than the Blizzard. Going the other direction, one must tack on a couple hundred grams of mass before matching or exceeding the ski performance of this award winner. 
Weight to performance ratio is the real and definitive measure of an all-around ski for human-powered use. In that matrix, this Blizzard shares the top of the heap. For a long time, we have picked two highest award winners; one super light and the other "normal" light. The Zero G 105 is the "normal light" award winner. The primary compromise in its performance is in firm snow. It doesn't grip quite as smoothly or confidently as we would like in an all-around ski. It does well enough, but this is the drawback we have to comment on.

 Super handy, nice little design for the skin so I highly recommend those. With the Zero Gs they do have of course a nice early rise in the tips. We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1

 I've been skiing the 105s for two seasons now. I got a pre-production model and tested them for a year and then wrote the review and I've been skiing on them all this year as well. So the new thing with the Zero G skis is the carbon drive 2.0 construction

 So great and variable snow conditions. The Zero Gs also use a rounded 3D top edge design. So you can see that on the top edge here and that reportedly reduces the ski weight by about 15%. There is also a skin notch in the tip and also in the tail of the ski as you can see and you can buy pre-cut mocha skins

 We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1. The 180 was a little small so I do find the 188 to be an ideal size for me. They do come in a 164, 172, 180 and 188 centimeter lengths

 Hey everyone, it's Brad from BackcountrySkiingCanada.com and today we're going to talk about the Blizzard

 These two skis here, so we've got the 95 and the 105 skis.

 Blizzard also makes an 85 width ski, so if you want to go light and fast, that'd be the

 95 underfoot for those that want to do more backcountry skiing where there's less snow

 perhaps in the mountains, 105 skis for those deeper days in the backcountry or if you want

 So there is no men's, women's specific skis for this, but we did have a female reviewer

 review the 95 Zero Gs and then I reviewed the 105.

 There is no real difference other than color, top sheets, design, so it's a unisex ski design.

 I've been skiing the 105s for two seasons now.

 I got a pre-production model and tested them for a year and then wrote the review and I've

 been skiing on them all this year as well.

 So the new thing with the Zero G skis is the carbon drive 2.0 construction.

 So this is a three dimensional unidirectional carbon overlay.

 It's over a Polonia wood core, so you've got very light ski.

 The overlay tapers in the tips and the tails, so you've got softer tips and tails, more

 forgiving and playful when you're skiing.

 Also the carbon drive optimizes the skis flex and torsional rigidity which means a better,

 more stable ski and better edge grip and control.

 They've also got a longer radius side cut.

 So it ranges from about 20 to 24 meters depending on the size of the ski that you get and this

 means increased forgiveness in your skiing and less catchy when you ski.

 The Zero Gs also use a rounded 3D top edge design.

 So you can see that on the top edge here and that reportedly reduces the ski weight by

 So these are a 70% mohair, 30% nylon skin.

 Nice light skin design, they do come pre-cut and you can see on the front notch there that

 these just slip in nice and easy in that notch and they stay in there, they won't come out

 but you can still do a skin rip as well.
