The Blizzard Zero G 105 is the best heavy-ish all-around backcountry ski we have used in recent years. It does everything very well, especially considering its weight. At 1500 grams, there are many lighter options on the market, but the ones we've tested ski more poorly than the Blizzard. Going the other direction, one must tack on a couple hundred grams of mass before matching or exceeding the ski performance of this award winner. 
Weight to performance ratio is the real and definitive measure of an all-around ski for human-powered use. In that matrix, this Blizzard shares the top of the heap. For a long time, we have picked two highest award winners; one super light and the other "normal" light. The Zero G 105 is the "normal light" award winner. The primary compromise in its performance is in firm snow. It doesn't grip quite as smoothly or confidently as we would like in an all-around ski. It does well enough, but this is the drawback we have to comment on.

 Super handy, nice little design for the skin so I highly recommend those. With the Zero Gs they do have of course a nice early rise in the tips. We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1

 I've been skiing the 105s for two seasons now. I got a pre-production model and tested them for a year and then wrote the review and I've been skiing on them all this year as well. So the new thing with the Zero G skis is the carbon drive 2.0 construction

 So great and variable snow conditions. The Zero Gs also use a rounded 3D top edge design. So you can see that on the top edge here and that reportedly reduces the ski weight by about 15%. There is also a skin notch in the tip and also in the tail of the ski as you can see and you can buy pre-cut mocha skins

 We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1. The 180 was a little small so I do find the 188 to be an ideal size for me. They do come in a 164, 172, 180 and 188 centimeter lengths

Came here to say on3p Jeffrey 102 but it’s been mentioned before.  They are spendy but dialed durable and worth it.  I’m an original owner of 2011 Billygoats with over 500 days at snowbird still lots of life in them

my line vision 108s just broke after 3 weeks of use. i loved the feel of them. looking for a more durable freestyle ski that skis similar to them. any suggestions?

Get an equally heavy park ski like the ON3P Crushin' Cans. Or all mountain freestyle like the Jeffrey 102 / 110.

I mostly do groomed runs and park skiing. But do want to explore other portions of the mountain as I get better. Live on the Canadian west coast and mostly ski local mountains.

What Skis would you guys recommend I look at?
Also, what kind of boot flex rating should I aim for?

Ski recommendations for intermediate, heavy skier?

I agree ~105 give or take is the sweet spot for a daily driver out here. Another poster already mentioned the ON3P Woodsman 102 or 110, which I haven't skied but I hear are great. I used to ski ON3P Kartel 108s (now called the Jeffrey) and it's a good ski but more freestyle focused and almost demands a more centered stance. ON3Ps are super durable though and on the heavier side which is good for our heavier snow

My current daily driver is a pair of 165cm Line Supernaturals 92s that I bought to start skiing in the northeast, but I have since moved to Washington and mostly ski Crystal Mountain, with occasional trips to other popular west-coast destinations for a total of about 30 days per season. I'm looking for a ski that can better handle PNW powder and charge through crud a bit better. My current setup seems to cause my legs to deflect in every direction while charging through crud, leaving me feeling less confident. I primarily ski off-piste / trees, but would appreciate a ski that can still handle the occasional groomer. I will not be doing any park skiing with these skis, and on days where conditions look a bit more like the ice coast, I will probably use my Line Supernaturals instead.

My current thoughts: I definitely want something wider and longer than my current ski. I am no longer a beginner, and I think I would benefit from something in the area of 175-180cm. And of course wider, because 92cm doesn't provide quite enough float on powder days. I think around 105mm is the sweet spot, but anything in the 100-110 range should be OK. I really like the style of j skis and on3p, and I think they should have something that fits the bill, but ultimately I'm open to any brand. Thanks again for your suggestions!
