 Welcome to our 2023 product reviews So this is the blizzard hustle 9 it's designed for a backcountry skier That's looking to you know get have something they can also use All around the mountain and one of the great things we love about this ski is is the shape So there's a nice gentle side cut to it underfoot that gives you performance where you need But it's not so sharp that when you're off piste, it's gonna sort of hook up and and surprise you it's quite a lightweight ski as well and I think the use of a combination of woods in the ski and Strategically paced carbon fiber gives you the sort of real performance where you need it And yet it's you know without bringing loads of weight to the ski And flex on skis is pretty sort of soft flex and soft camber underfoot So it's not too stiff if I hold the ski up here I can give you an idea of the profile so you can see it's not at the highest of camber there And as you can see me squeezing it, it's not too stiff so it gives a really playful performance and yet that area of lift and and Rocker at the tip is going to give you the flotation you need One of the other things I really like about this ski is the pop the base has so you've got this really cool sort Of like blue top sheet and then boom a really glowy base.  And I'm claiming vindication on this one. I have been saying for a long time that the Kabuki was one of Blizzard's best skis and should have never been discontinued. The Hustle basically very, very much like a reboot of the good old Kabuki. Weight comes in just under 8 pounds here, I believe, and that puts it at kind of the heavy end of the touring category again, like the Black Crow's Freebird

 The 11 is probably around 110 underfoot. I would pick the nine because I again tilt toward this kind of harder snow carving feel, you know, the ability to make those old good old fashioned GS turns. If you are a soft snow specialist, maybe you want to keep looking in the touring category. You know, definitely you can get lighter than this and maybe you don't need what the ski is bringing on this kind of snow

 If you're comfortable with this weight range, it is a little bit heavy for, you know, real honest to goodness, deep back country touring, obviously side country fine. I think fine for light skiers, lighter skiers, let's say 150 ish pounds inbounds as Alpine skis, you know, just a damn fine ski from Blizzard. You can get this in the nine, which is what I'm riding. That's 94 millimeters underfoot

Blizzard Hustle 9 Review: reminiscent, perhaps, of the outstanding Kabookie, the Hustle is a heavyish Touring ski that could double as an All-Mountain Alpine ski for lighter riders.  Similar to the Rustler 9 in shape, but with a more cambered feel overall.  Recommended.

The Blizzard Zero G 105 is the best heavy-ish all-around backcountry ski we have used in recent years. It does everything very well, especially considering its weight. At 1500 grams, there are many lighter options on the market, but the ones we've tested ski more poorly than the Blizzard. Going the other direction, one must tack on a couple hundred grams of mass before matching or exceeding the ski performance of this award winner. 
Weight to performance ratio is the real and definitive measure of an all-around ski for human-powered use. In that matrix, this Blizzard shares the top of the heap. For a long time, we have picked two highest award winners; one super light and the other "normal" light. The Zero G 105 is the "normal light" award winner. The primary compromise in its performance is in firm snow. It doesn't grip quite as smoothly or confidently as we would like in an all-around ski. It does well enough, but this is the drawback we have to comment on.

 Super handy, nice little design for the skin so I highly recommend those. With the Zero Gs they do have of course a nice early rise in the tips. We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1

 I've been skiing the 105s for two seasons now. I got a pre-production model and tested them for a year and then wrote the review and I've been skiing on them all this year as well. So the new thing with the Zero G skis is the carbon drive 2.0 construction

 So great and variable snow conditions. The Zero Gs also use a rounded 3D top edge design. So you can see that on the top edge here and that reportedly reduces the ski weight by about 15%. There is also a skin notch in the tip and also in the tail of the ski as you can see and you can buy pre-cut mocha skins

 We've got some generous camber, moderate camber underfoot and in the tail we've got a slight up rise as well. So these are the Zero G 105s, I'm 180 pounds, I ski on the 188, 6 foot tall, 6 foot 1. The 180 was a little small so I do find the 188 to be an ideal size for me. They do come in a 164, 172, 180 and 188 centimeter lengths
