 The DR900X 2-channel plus cameras are a great step forward from the previous generation. The video quality is up to the level I would expect. So if you're looking for a new camera for your vehicle or upgrading from a previous generation, you might want to check this one out.  I'm allowed to keep the camera after the review, but it's not a paid or sponsored video. I'll be comparing it with the Blackvue DR900X previous generation of the camera, and I'll have some samples from a BlueSky CB4K camera, the front and rear cameras as well. We'll be going through the new features, the improved video quality, the improved image sensor in the rear camera, talk about the seamless pairing using Bluetooth to make it easier to connect over Wi-Fi, and the hotspot functionality of the front camera has been enhanced. If you have the optional CM100LTE internet connectivity device, you can now have up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices connect through the front camera and also connect to the internet

 So if you have the optional BlackVue CM100LTE connectivity device to gain access to the BlackVue cloud service, you can now share that connection with up to five devices in your car, turning a car that never had hotspot capabilities into one that's internet enabled. Overall, I'm very pleased with the changes made to this particular upgraded camera. The DR900X 2-channel plus cameras are a great step forward from the previous generation. The video quality is up to the level I would expect

BlackVue DR900X-2CH Plus - Better Video, Seamless Pairing, Up To 5 Wi-Fi Connections

 I do have it hooked up to the very back camera and the other big improvement that BlackVue had expressed was the ease of connection to the new dash cam. Now old dash cams you had to wifi in, you had to essentially type in the ID as well as the password and if you didn't have it handy that definitely was a challenge. Now hopefully you guys can see but let's go ahead and we're going to pair up with the dash cam. So all I'm going to do is I'm going to hit the X here or the plus

 We are in the vehicle that I originally installed the very first BlackVue 900S here. Again that's a 4K dash cam for the front and then it's also attached to the rear which is a 1080p. This one that you see here is going to be the new dash cam from BlackVue, the 900X that is supposed to be superior in terms of image quality and ease of use. So what I wanted to do is I wanted to put both of them together, do a drive and then share with you guys comparisons of the video to let you see if there is any significant difference between the S as well as the X that we have here

 But again with that voltage detector it is a very nice feature to have and it truly saves your battery's power. Now if you guys have any questions or concerns about BlackVue's new 900X plus dashcam feel free to post up your concerns or questions I'll do my best to answer them for you. Again I will state that in my opinion I do think the new 900X plus is the better image quality camera compared to the older 900S simply because of better saturation. You've got much better details in some of the images or video coverage that I was able to really pixel peep into

 You guys do have to understand, you're comparing two true 4K cameras and not like a 1080 compared to a 4K where the difference would be vastly different. But again, comparing both of the cameras and what I had a chance to take a look at under careful scrutinizing it and pixel peeping, I did determine that the X plus is going to provide you better image quality. Now that alone isn't going to be the biggest selling point of the new BlackVue dashcam. What I really like about the X plus is the capability for you to actually connect to the Bluetooth so easily

 Now hopefully you guys can see but let's go ahead and we're going to pair up with the dash cam. So all I'm going to do is I'm going to hit the X here or the plus. Just going to search for it, it has the camera here, I will tap on the camera and I apologize I don't have an app that allows me to screen capture. This one here just tells you to put your hand in front of the proximity sensor

 It's pretty expensive, but I think it's mostly worth it. It would be nice if the SD card it came with was a bit bigger -- this would be a great way to make the price a little less painful. Still, if you have the money, it's a worthwhile investment for the peace of mind.

 So that's pretty awesome. And there you have it, guys. That is the install of the Blackvue DR900X. It's the two channel

 So when we're in parking mode, this is the sensitivity on what sort of impact. So whether we want just someone brushing against the car, or whether there's actually a fair solid thump in the night for it to start recording. And then same thing, the G-sensor in the normal mode there as well. And then in system, this is where we have all sorts of settings, which is really cool and one of the big advantages of a high quality, so premium unit of this is the custom ability

 This is from Blackvue, it is the DR900X 2 channel, the 2 camera version, and it is the plus version. We're gonna be unboxing it, we're gonna be installing it, we're gonna be testing it. Let's get started. One of the key highlights with this guy is, it's one of their cloud dash cams

 So, tag removed, that's relocated there, no problem at all. Now, before we go installing our camera and tape set up, we need to make sure that everything is super clean. So, grab your glass cleaner of choice, and then we want to be giving this a bit of a once-over, both in the front and in the back. And once everything is squeaky clean, grab your front module itself, and then you've just got a position where you're gonna have it

 But what I would really like to see is a geofencing option that would allow you to set the camera to shut off parking mode as soon as you got home. While I'm parked in the garage where I would rather have a regular security camera, I'm not draining my battery overnight. That's why I was having so much issue with the low voltage with the previous model, because every night it stayed on for 12 hours, even though it's in that lower power state parking mode, it's still using power, especially with the 4G LTE module, so hopefully that can come in the future. Now I do want to reiterate though, this problem of mine is because my commute is less than 10 minutes a day, so I'm simply just not charging my car battery up enough like the average driver would, which is why I'm having this issue with draining my battery too much with a longer time limit during parking mode

 For instance, the parking mode is something I have covered in so many videos. I'm going to provide a link down in the description to where you can see the original 900X review where I do cover the advanced parking mode features. For instance, the automatic buffered parking mode and time lapse option. So I'm not going to go too in depth into the cloud features

 And that's when I was using a 12 hour time limit. The reason I chose 12 hours is because usually I work from 8 to 9 hours, I want the camera to be recording in parking mode that whole time. 6 hours is not enough time unless I went out to lunch and restarted that timer. So now after several weeks of testing, I set it to 9 hours because I'm usually never at work for longer than 9 hours

 I havent driven my car in a few days and my battery is at 6.2v. I have battery protection enabled on this very pricey dashcam it doesnt even work.

Not a great value over cheaper options

 For example, look at the trees and the shadows over on the left side of the frame. Now, to be fair, this is what the DR900X's HDR feature actually disabled. I'm not a fan of using that feature unless I'm specifically parked. And I mainly use its HDR night vision capabilities for nighttime parking recording

 Now, normally I run and recommend the Samsung Pro Endurance cards, but lately I've been having multiple issues with both the Pro Endurance and the Evo Select cards in my DR900X+. It keeps giving me different memory card errors and then the dash cam reboots. And so I've been having issues with a couple of different cards. However, when I then switched to the BlackVue card and put that one in the dash cam, I haven't had any issues since

 And I have noticed that here as well. Now, starting off with the front camera, I'm definitely noticing some improved image quality and specifically an improved ability to capture details such as license plates. In fact, I did some comparison testing with the older DR900X, the new DR900X Plus, and the Thinkware U1000, which I'm using kind of as a benchmark, especially because its video quality is better than any previous Blackvue dash cam. And all of these dash cams record in 4K

 Now, full disclosure, this is not a paid or sponsored review. I've never done those, and I never will. Blackvue sent me a production copy of the DR900X Plus to test and review here for this video. I do get to keep the dash cam after testing, but I'm not otherwise paid or compensated in any way here for this video

 Well, since it's hard wired with a parking mode cable, that is a little easier said than done.  I really wish I had gone with one of the Chinese brands instead of this one. Garmin is a well-known and respected brand that you would expect to make a high-quality and solid product. They really should be ashamed to release a product this bad

 Anyway all good as far that goes. Using the app is simple, and it worked perfectly so far. Nice to be able to view an event directly on your phone without having to remove the card , Wifi, or even take the camera from the dash- like some dashbcams that are adhesive mounted, what good is the screen them?? Anyway also like the very compact size. A bit pricey, but I haven't any others with the Bluetooth feature

Got the app and paired it to the phone. Have to do that in the car apparently, not just plugged to the computer. Anyway all good as far that goes. Using the app is simple, and it worked perfectly so far

Great camera

Over $300 camera, without a rear camera (even though you are able to add cameras through the app), not even a tool to push your wires through the panels like any other cheaper cameras out there, only 720P resolution for the inside, which my $200 cheaper VAVA 2K has 1080P, lousy Wi-Fi, keeps going in and out, asking you to join every minute – RIDICULOUS, not even a booklet for BASIC INSTRUCTION how to operate the camera – UNBELIEVABLE, that every other electronic device/dashcam out there gives you even if you need to update it later on (that's what they claim as an excuse, so what?!). Easy to use and easy to install, and even Great Idea for the future of dash cams, but way too GREEDY AND OVERPRICED dashcam, definitely NOT RECOMMENDED for this CRAZY PRICE.

 But file size can become to large, and this app can't deal with large files. There is an option to "trim" the video files to a shorter length. So far I find 5 minutes is the max.  I could however, download those bigger files by connecting directly to the computer

 -The instructions are very scant and not well centralized. The supplied pamphlet is very lacking, even the colors are wrong(for various cam modes). I find answers in different places too, that is just dumb and can be corrected. -the PIP position for exported videos needs to be a hard set option, not every time

  My first impression was on how tiny this unit is. All the better for windshield placement. I put it just under the rear view mirror. The magnetic mount was one of my buying decisions, having previous experience with the rubber suction type mounts

 For the money I paid for all of this, I expect something better for connectivity, easier than taking the dashcam into my home and plug it into a computer to get results. It irritates me that I have to sit in my truck and look at my phone, waiting and waiting, until I give up. I had to reformat the SD card to enable the app to connect recently. Not impressed

Mostly good but for the Android app.
