 It does have Blackvue's great parking mode, automatic parking mode, with impact detection and motion detection. They claim it has low power consumption, high temperature cutoff, so if it's a really hot summer for people in the southern climates like Arizona or Texas, that's very vital. And it does use a, instead of a battery, it does use a supercapacitor, all Blackvue cameras do. Voice guidance and alerts, external GPS is optional, and they do have software for Windows and Macs

 It might be available now actually. A few weeks ago it said coming soon on BlackBox My Car but a WiFi model is coming out or is out which is pretty cool and it's basically like the base model or the entry level model compared to the DR750 which offers WiFi, built-in GPS and cloud support where you're not going to get all of that in this but not everyone needs that so I still think overall it's a good bargain. If you really care more about the video quality and don't mind the fact that it's in that weird video file format you might want to check out the 490 if you can still find it anywhere but I don't know if it's for sale anywhere anymore but again overall I think this is a great option for people that are interested in BlackView but don't want to pay $400 or more for a DR750 2 channel because not everyone needs that cloud feature, not everyone needs GPS, not everyone needs WiFi so for much less you can get a comparable camera and maybe the video quality is not as good. It definitely isn't as good as the 750 because the 750 has front 60 frames per second also but again it's so much cheaper and it has that great parking mode and when you're in parking mode the video quality doesn't matter as much in parking mode because when you're stopped the bit rate doesn't struggle as much because what really makes the video quality suffer is when you're going like 70 miles per hour down the freeway and there's all that motion and the camera gets overloaded and it starts to pixelate everything

 And to be honest, if you're buying a Blackvue camera, you should be using the parking mode because that's one of the major benefits of it. So we got a standard 12V cigarette power cord. We have the, I was about to say coax, because the DR650 and 750 models used a coax cable, but this uses a similar, looks like a headphone jack. He didn't have any sort of dash camera let alone one with the parking mode so accidents happen all the time on the road but they also happen all the time in parking lots so to me an advanced good parking mode is very important so personally even though you look at these cameras with these two channel cameras with these advanced parking modes and they don't have as good as video quality as cameras without all these advanced features I think the pros of these features outweigh the cons for me personally

Pretty easy to install and seems like good quality. The setup is about you would expect for the price, but The Dashcam Store has been tremendous. Wouldn’t shop anywhere else from here on out!

Great budget 2-channel!

 During parking, recording is triggered by motion as well as shock to capture events if something does happen to your car, such as vandalism or a hit and run. Like most Blackvue products, the camera will have a buffered recording. This offers a ton of usefulness as the dashcam is ready to capture most amount of detail as well as information regarding the incident without the need to scrub through your entire gallery of videos. Alongside the DR590, Blackvue has also released a DR590W option

 Now using less power than before, the dashcam can record for longer durations before the voltage cutoff kicks in. With the addition of the PowerMagic Pro or a selling Neo battery, the DR590 2CH is ready to record while you're away from your vehicle. During parking, recording is triggered by motion as well as shock to capture events if something does happen to your car, such as vandalism or a hit and run. Like most Blackvue products, the camera will have a buffered recording

 Just like the DR590, the WiFi version has built-in parking mode recording, allowing for around-the-clock protection while parked. Do not let the advertised 1080p fool you. Both front and rear dashcams have poor video quality. You will ONLY be able to find use from this camera if you're in an accident, have already verified the other driver and positively verified their vehicle tag number. Parking mode from this camera is useless, as there is a high likelihood that you will be unable to furnish a video with sufficient visible evidence for your insurance company and law enforcement agency to do anything with

 There was a original A129 Duo and then a single channel version actually. The difference between this and the A119, if you get the single channel version, the design is slightly different. It seems higher quality but it also has wi-fi so that's one benefit of this. With wi-fi there is an app you can use to view your files wirelessly and then you can save, transfer and save your video files to your phone wirelessly in case you need to save some sample footage

 So I hope this video was helpful for you guys. I'll provide links down in the description to my other viafo reviews give you a chance to see the video quality of those other models that I didn't directly compare because I don't have them all anymore other than the a119 v3.  Now after the original A129 came out they released a Pro model and that one has 4k in the front and 1080p in the rear. So now this one is sort of an intermediate model between the original and the Pro 4k model but I think this might actually be replacing the original because I think the price is the same at 180 dollars. You can see here though this one has quad HD in the front and full HD in the rear. The original A129 was only full HD in the front and rear which is 1080p

0 sometime soon. So guys overall I think this is another good product from viafo. viafo is one of my three favorite dashcam companies. They're not the most high tech out there but they typically have some of the best video quality in their cameras and while they don't have as advanced parking mode features as BlackV or Thinkware they are typically much cheaper much more affordable and I would argue a good value for the price you pay for them too

 Vifo did reach out and send this to me for review so I'd like to thank them for reaching out to me. If you guys aren't aware, there are several A129 models and I got a lot of similar questions because there was the A119 originally and they're on version 3 of that, not including the Pro and G versions, but right now they're on the A119v3 and people constantly ask if there's a two channel version of that. That's basically what this A129 model is. Now this is actually the third version of the A129 also

 It's $10 more than the old A129 Duo at the time of recording, but it's fully $70 cheaper than the Pro 4K. So it's quite likely to represent a better value proposition, and that's what I'll be looking at in this video. And I do need to say thank you to Blackbox My Car for sending me this review unit to take a look at. I need to disclose that, although I haven't committed to saying anything particularly positive, as you'll find out

 I previously reviewed the A129 Duo, which was the sort of old version of this, and there is also in this series a A129 Pro, which is a 4K camera. This is a 1440p camera, so it's sort of halfway between the two in terms of specs, but in terms of price it's a bit lower. It's $10 more than the old A129 Duo at the time of recording, but it's fully $70 cheaper than the Pro 4K. So it's quite likely to represent a better value proposition, and that's what I'll be looking at in this video

 It has a very good value for money proposition. If you wanted better performance like 4K, high resolution, then you could step up to the A129 Pro, then you would get that resolution on paper. But it's quite a lot more money to spend, and I think if you were willing to spend that total amount of money, you might be better off selecting a different brand at that point. But if you don't want to spend that much money, then down where we are with this camera, I'd say it's fairly hard to beat

 Now in my car, the rear window is not ideal for a rear camera because the rear window in my car, you can probably see that is half tinted. So half of it is white, half of it is black, and it's kind of slanted in a weird way. So definitely not the best rear window for a rear camera. So of course this will depend on from car to car because all cars are different

VIOFO A129 Plus Duo Premium Dash Camera Review & Sample Recordings

I can vouch that Viofo A129 Plus Duo works great in high heat. Mine bakes in the sun all day outdoor parking in the central valley when I'm there for work and it has zero recording issues. Duo, Plus Duo, and Pro Duo are respectively 1080p, 2k, and 4k resolution for the front camera; rear is always 1080p.

With a zillion on the market, I’m hoping this group will help me find just the right cam. My requirements:

• 1080 or better resolution
• front and rear cameras
• be able to remove front camera
• tolerates southern CA heat
• under $150

Bonus if I can mount it to a bar at the base of the windshield, since a Jeep doesn’t have the typical headliner that would allow me to tuck/hide a wire under it.

Help selecting the right dashcam.

 Negative was this placement calls for a much smaller cable which through me for an another challenge.  Turns out, a mini usb to mini usb that is 5in and is MEANT FOR THIS JOB is impossible to find. BEWARE, you may find a mini usb to mini usb cable that is small, but most likely won’t work because it isn’t configured to connect a camera to another camera. Viofo makes a “shorter” cable but is still way too long for my job

 Then go to the time zone settings and appropriately select the time zone. In my case, the camera defaulted 6 hours faster than my actual time. I then went to time zone settings and selected GMT-6 and the problem was solved. Syncing with the cell phone is only temporary unless the time zone is correct
