 There's polonia in this ski. There's also like an isosynthetic type material in there somewhere. And then Black Crows describes it as three dimensional carbon fiber that's kind of built into this H shape. So in a lot of Black Crows skis, we see H shaped metal

 I will point out that just with this H shape, you know, it is pretty unique construction. And one of the things about the construction is it does kind of solidify it as a directional ski. So there's a limit to how far forward you could go with your bindings, partly because the toe piece would just be up here in no man's land with nowhere to drill into. So although it's a twin tip, although it does have that capability, you're going more towards what I would consider a traditional mount point

 You know, I think I wouldn't buy it specifically as a resort ski. I think there are better options for that. You know, you can go Atris, you could go Anima. There's even within Black Crow's line, there are better options for that

 Hey skiers, I'm Jeff from SkiEssentials.com. Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Today we're

 talking about the Black Crow's Ferrex Freebird. This is a very unique ski. You know, it is in

 their Freebird line, so that means that it's kind of geared at least or designed somewhat for touring.

 But among touring skis, this is quite unique. If you were ever thinking to yourself, like,

 I want a touring ski that's also a powder ski that's also a twin tip,

 this is a great option. And there aren't really that many skis that check all three of those boxes.

 You often get two out of the three, but this one checks all three. So pretty interesting ski here.

 110 underfoot, 21 meter turn radius. You guys can probably see the amount of camber and rocker

 that it has. There's not a tremendous amount of rocker in this ski, which I think is interesting

 being as wide as it is. And then you can see this rise back here in the tail. So that's kind of,

 it's like they built a twin tip and then just hacked off the end of it, so you still had a

 spot to attach your skins. So pretty cool shape. You know, it's straightforward powder ski shape,

 just with a little bit less rocker than you might guess or might expect. Construction's

 pretty interesting. There's poplar in this ski. There's polonia in this ski. There's also like an

 isosynthetic type material in there somewhere. And then Black Crows describes it as three

 dimensional carbon fiber that's kind of built into this H shape. So in a lot of Black Crows skis,

 we see H shaped metal. In this ski, it's more like the core itself is just H shape, which

 kind of shows off these raised portions through the ski. So pretty cool. It is kind of to look at

 flex pattern and weight before we talk about performance. It's pretty stiff, pretty strong

 ski. You know, not as stiff as something like a Corvus, the non-freebird Corvus, the super,

 super stiff one, but still a pretty darn strong, supportive flex pattern. So you can ski it fast,

 ski it aggressively. If you're going to tour on a ski, you want it to be, you know, at least

 relatively lightweight. This one comes in at 1,965 call it grams. So you might be watching this video

 and thinking, well, Jeff, I know a fair amount about skis and ski construction and how much they

 should weigh. And 1,965 grams isn't particularly lightweight. And you'd be right, but it's also

 not super heavy for a ski this big. You know, there's a lot of mass here. This is 181.4

 centimeters. So there's just a lot going on. So for them to achieve a relatively lightweight,

 I think is notable. So when you think about this ski, you're really the type of person that's

 spending a good amount of time earning your turns. And when you are earning your turns,

 you're lucky enough that you're skiing some relatively soft snow as well. It's really best

 in deeper snow conditions. It can handle some firmer conditions, but it's really going to shine

 and it's really going to excel when you get it into softer snow. The fact that it's a twin tip allows

 for more options than most skis in this category in the wider touring category. So if you want

 something that you can land switch on, if you want something that you can take off switch, you know,

 kind of work some freestyle, freestyle mentality and freestyle skiing into your backcountry touring,

 it's a good choice. I will point out that just with this H shape, you know, it is pretty unique

 construction. And one of the things about the construction is it does kind of solidify it as
