Bodum is the worst company for anything coffee related, used to be premium back in the day, now its all plastic garbage, no support, the bistro grinder is the worst purchase I have ever made.

Hey guys, I'm new here. My fiance and I recently purchased an $80 Bodum coffee grinder that didn't work at all, out of the box. We tried contacting Bodum over a dozen times to troubleshoot or get a refund, and they've been ignoring us. Is Bodum known for poor customer service, or is this a recent development? Has anyone had luck resolving issues with Bodum products through their customer service department?

 You can't use boiling water in this per directions, so my coffee was lukewarm after all of the waiting and ground fishing. The coffee itself is the same coarse grind I make daily and this press created a bitter cup of coffee with a lot of sediment. This only gets 2 stars for possibly being of use for a blah cup of coffee if I camp.

 My only complaint is that the coffee gets cold fairly quickly. I wouldn't recommend making a full pot unless you and a second person are planning to drink the first cups in record time. The mugs are pretty useless in my opinion because they don't hold any heat in either. I thought they'd be fine at work but I can't drink my coffee fast enough!

 Maybe that's due to the fact that I got it in a store and not online? I bought this as a spare to keep at work in an attempt to stop buying so much coffee on my way to work. Like I said, it's decent. You have to make sure you let the coffee steep for at least 4-5 minutes and make sure you press down SLOWLY. I'll really emphasize SLOWLY again because the pressure of water and grounds underneath the press will push grounds out if you go too fast

 It may not be as quick and easy as one of the pod machines, but it does give great coffee at a much better cost than the pod machines. And you can even make coffee in a power outage with it. All you need is hot water.

Good Strong Brew

this is definitely an intro level press, but i bought for replacement parts because it was cheaper! black strainer is plastic, FYI. mugs are good quality.

This is a french press with panache and the perfect compliment for my MoMA Cocoa Moka pot. Love the bright colors and the welcoming aroma of fresh brewed French press coffee. I suggest purchasing the fine mesh and silicone filter from Bodum to substitute for the standard metal filter; it’s just better.
