I have both glycolic acid and retinol in my ritual (yes, you *can* use AHA and retinol together). A good level of hydration has really helped my skin to tolerate these actives. After many years of trial and error, I now do hydration as the last steps of my sequence. I really like the Vichy Mineral 89 serum with the Cerave in a close second. The Vichy is more traditional serum texture while the Cerave texture is thicker than a traditional serum, but much lighter than a moisturizer.
