 Problem was, because he had just turned 2, he struggled to understand that he needed to go back to sleep, and if we told him through the door, he became more upset because he knew we were out there.  Other reviews I read said that this clock changed their life overnight. For us, it took about a week or two for him to get the hang of this. I believe that has to do with the fact that he had JUST turned two, whereas other kids were probably a bit older and could understand faster

**UPDATE** Lives up to the hype

 Cons: Wished the battery lasted longer. It’s nice there is an option for using AA batteries, but they only lasted 2-3 weeks. I was hoping we could use this with just batteries permanently so the clock would be out of reach and the toddler couldn’t mess with it/unplug it. Changing out batteries that often won’t work for us

 If you can get them to see it when it is green a few times and get excited to leave their room it may help them get the hang of it faster and follow the rules even if you bump the alarm time up a bit.

 I was sure I would never be able to train my kids to stay in their room with something like that when I visited a friend that had an OK to Wake clock, and saw that it had to be plugged in. UMMM, WHAT? THAT WOULD NEVER WORK with my crazy twin toddlers. It would be unplugged (and probably re-plugged, with a blaring alarm somehow masterfully programmed for the butt crack of dawn) in a matter of seconds. Even their sound monitor has to be plugged in inside their locked closet

 Controls are "ok." The alarm on/off switch is in the back, which is a little less convenient. Big sleep bar on top, the usual 9 minute sleep delay that most clocks have. There's no way to easily see what time your alarm is set to (my old clock allowed you to simply push the alarm button and the alarm time would flash on the display while you held the button down)

Wake up the dead LOUD.

This alarm is about perfect for our needs. We just wanted a small alarm (this is about the smallest one I've seen), with large numbers (this is about as big as they get) that does not give off too much light (most other LED screens/numbers are too bright if you want a dark room to sleep in). I gave it 4 stars because the build feels a bit cheap. Sony has an alarm at a similar price point that feels a little better made

Great clock, especially for what it cost

This alarm clock is supposed to be loud I didn't think so. I set it up across the room about 8 feet from my head and I could barely hear it. The other thing I disliked was the location and operation of the alarm shut-off. That may only be a personal thing

 That way, whether setting the alarm, or even the time, you just have to move the switch all the way up for lock. There's no trying to make sure the switch is in the middle position and it's not pushed a little too far. If it were pushed a little too far (into the time set position (all the way up)), one would never know it, as there would be nothing to indicate so. It's just a bad design with the switch layout
