 Problem was, because he had just turned 2, he struggled to understand that he needed to go back to sleep, and if we told him through the door, he became more upset because he knew we were out there.  Other reviews I read said that this clock changed their life overnight. For us, it took about a week or two for him to get the hang of this. I believe that has to do with the fact that he had JUST turned two, whereas other kids were probably a bit older and could understand faster

**UPDATE** Lives up to the hype

 Cons: Wished the battery lasted longer. It’s nice there is an option for using AA batteries, but they only lasted 2-3 weeks. I was hoping we could use this with just batteries permanently so the clock would be out of reach and the toddler couldn’t mess with it/unplug it. Changing out batteries that often won’t work for us

 If you can get them to see it when it is green a few times and get excited to leave their room it may help them get the hang of it faster and follow the rules even if you bump the alarm time up a bit.

 I was sure I would never be able to train my kids to stay in their room with something like that when I visited a friend that had an OK to Wake clock, and saw that it had to be plugged in. UMMM, WHAT? THAT WOULD NEVER WORK with my crazy twin toddlers. It would be unplugged (and probably re-plugged, with a blaring alarm somehow masterfully programmed for the butt crack of dawn) in a matter of seconds. Even their sound monitor has to be plugged in inside their locked closet

 I have mine set for 20 minutes and I typically read a paper book as the blue light from screens is counter-productive. Once I stop being able to easily read that is usually about when my body is drifting towards sleep. It finished darkening while I snuggle fully into bed and off I go to dreamland.  It does have the ability to change the color of the light but the default works just fine for me

Um you can also just use it as a radio if you want to and you can also use it as white noise at night and it sets the timer to like 30 minutes. I'm sure there's a way you can change that so that's pretty cool. It's multifunctional

 So this shows 30 minutes. so say you set your alarm for like 5, 30 then 30 minutes before it will start having the light go off and it will get brighter and brighter as you get closer to your time for your alarm. and you can set different times on there like 30 minutes, 20 minutes or 10 minutes.  Every winter's nightmare mornings. So, this winter I decided to look for a Sunrise Alarm to bring some, albeit artificial, light into my midwinter mornings.  This unit is a complete success. We've been using it for a few weeks, and while I don't always wake up to the light, which we have on a soft light setting, and a 10 minute 'sunrise' interval, I'm no longer startled awake from a deep sleep in the blackness of the morning

 Seamless transitions between the different light levels. The light levels are also adjustable by function (alarms & sleep.) The wake-up light turns itself off after 15 minutes, which is convenient, as by then we have the nightstand light on, and a cup of coffee to quietly start our morning.  YES you can easily turn the alarm sounds OFF! My husband already has his tablet programmed to wake us up with different original songs every morning, so I was only looking for the graduated light feature

 It's difficult to see on a phone. There we go to pink so you can cycle through the different colors. When you have the sunrise set, it takes about 30 minutes to go from dim to bright. Let's see, then we're off again

 There we go. Okay, so how'd you see it can scan and actually when it does get a decent channel, when this antenna is up somewhere, it sounds pretty good. Now let's go for the light. There we go

This is a very unique style of Clock, and it’s great to wake up to. My only regret is that I wish you had more control over the wake up noises. It gives you lots of options, but they repeat very quickly, and it’s not quite as peaceful a waking up process as you would think because of the quick repetition. Overall great product
