I have probably spent a good 20 hours tweaking the location and settings, and now I am very satisfied with the sound. I think because of the size of my listening room (not huge- about 20' x 18') and the size of these speakers, is why it took a while to find the 'sweet spot'. If you are very particular about this sort of thing (as I am), it may be a bit of a challenge to get the sound just right, but you can do it. Also, if you are pairing them with small main speakers, it may be more of a challenge

Bass is minimal, unless you turn the sub volume all the way up. Tried using one into two RCA cables via Media Bridge, per suggestions here, no difference. This was installed on a Yamaha RXV-675, also the vendor would not take a return, due to hazardous materials!? What the heck Parts Express? There was no hazardous materials label on the carton! I bought a Polk Audio PSW10, Wow what a difference! Not only for music but for surround also! I have seen many reviews on the Dayton Audio sub indicating it is the best deal for the price. I do not agree, the PSW10 was less money and far outperforms the Sub 1200
