A 12" subwoofer should also be able to go lower, it falls on its face below 25 Hz. You aren't going to get any subsonic bass out of this one, it just can't do it. I have my eye on an SVS PB-2000 Pro now, which should be in another league for power and clarity. The BIC is NOT a bad sub, again there's nothing else that can hang with this for less than $400-500, but it's always true that you get what you pay for

DON'T LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU! This thing is LOUD! At $109, I got more than I expected with this sub. I have it hooked up to aYamaha RX-V671 7.1- Channel Network AV Receiver using LFE. I set the crossover to the max and used the receiver to set crossover (I think mine is set at 80 or 90hz)

I have probably spent a good 20 hours tweaking the location and settings, and now I am very satisfied with the sound. I think because of the size of my listening room (not huge- about 20' x 18') and the size of these speakers, is why it took a while to find the 'sweet spot'. If you are very particular about this sort of thing (as I am), it may be a bit of a challenge to get the sound just right, but you can do it. Also, if you are pairing them with small main speakers, it may be more of a challenge

so the UPS driver and everyone in my neighborhood could see a 12” sub was sitting on my porch for 6 hours. I live in a decent area, so it’s not a huge deal to me, but you should consider this if you’re not in a nice neighborhood. I’m not a big fan of this given the price & attention it may draw. Overall - Took about 15-20 hours to really break in
