it definitely gives you volume, and i like the consistency of the formula. HOWEVER, this is a pain in the rear wind to take off. i use waterproof-removing micellar water, makeup wipes, face wash…and the mascara still sticks like tar to my lashes, making it difficult to remove and also removes my lashes!! have lost a lot of lashes in the last few days with this mascara (which doesn’t typically happen with other maybelline mascaras). just be aware of its very tar-like, sticky formula on your lashes

Like many luxury products the Hourglass component is significantly heavier than the Maybelline mascara which gives it the “luxury” feeling. The brush application are nearly identical between the two as you can see from one of my images. They both have plastic applicators that are slender with short bristles. The slender applicator with the short bristle makes it easy to grab and lengthen the inner corner lashes that are hard to reach with fatter mascara applicators
